Some thoughts on the final two episodes:
-Gotta admit the whole fallout between Vaggie and Charlie lasted longer than I expected and their make up song is at the end of the episode, but the rest of the Hotel doesn't give a shit because the episode starts with another fucking time skip, would have been nice to see the immediate aftermath of this bombshell but like many things in this show we don't get to see that
-I liked Rosie/Lilith
-The leaks were dead accurate even if the leaker failed to mention Pentious shows up in Heaven instead of really dying.
-Adam kicks Alastor's ass pretty quickly (It seems like Adam isn't really trying for most their fight on top of that), that's something I really enjoyed seeing
-It takes Lucifer showing up at the last second for everyone not to get killed, but nobody really important dies, so the Exorcists were jobbed but not as much as I was expecting.
-Even though I started the season hating Adam, he eventually became one of my favorites and a joy to watch, sucks he died but that's what happens to seasonal villains in the vast majority of cases.
-The main characters hang a big portrait of Pentious in his general uniform in the rebuilt Hotel's lobby, so my complaint I made earlier today about him being forgotten is nullified. ('course he isn't dead but the characters don't know that)

Overall episode 7 was good and 8 was great. Not sure my exact feelings towards the show because I started off with absolute rock bottom expectations, but it's definitely not bad.

8 in particular I thought really worked the musical concept. I liked how the ending song addressed the shifts in everyone's status quo. I think Alastor should probably not have rejoined the main cast by the end, hung back to heal or something. It seemed to be a bad injury and that would have sold the impact a bit better. I'm surprised Vivzie let her baby lose and run away.

I sort of figured Pentious would get a stinger of him being the first to reach Heaven. It sort of calls back to how he's seen surviving at the end of the pilot. Sera does not seem convinced that this makeover fits Heaven's vibe though, but I guess she can't complain I mean whatever the criteria are I guess we know it works now. You just gotta double die once you reached your pardon. I didn't really think his death was treated as a joke, but it was used to show Adam had some crazy power level, probably to make you it seem like he could actually be a threat once Lucifer joined the battle.

Adding in that, yeah I could see Adam coming back as a demon as the universe/ God's way of saying he has to work on himself. Probably season two would be more on what's up with "Lilith" and stopping the exploitation from the V's, if I were to guess.

Back from watching leaks of episode 7 & 8.
You can tell the animators had fun in episode 8, which was a pleasant surprise since I thought they were overbudget and/or hated the HH project.
Hope the pacing issues improve in season 2. Also hope the swearing gets toned down. It's really not quirky and edgy, just jarring most of the time.
Can't wait to see people arguing online about how death works in the afterlife in this universe.

Overall HH rating: 6/10

The finale was not as shit as I thought it was gonna be. I really want to like the songs but I hate that it keeps switching genres midway through like in “We’re Ready For This”. Hamilton ruined music.
Besides the jokes falling flat and over the top profanity the characters had pretty good endings to their arcs, especially Petentious.
If Vivienne and the writing team pull their head out of their asses for season two it has a decent shot at redemption.

Saw the last two episodes, they were surprisingly pretty good and feels like the team behind it got things put together. Though the show still suffers from being rushed, and would like to see Adam come back as a Demon.

Compared to Helluva Boss, I think this is better than both seasons since for all its faults, Hazbin at least seems to be more focused and sort of aware of what it is. Whereas Helluva became a really insufferable animated soap opera.

Though watch this comment age poorly for season 2

I liked Rosie/Lilith
I will admit, I am confused if the real Lilith is Rosie based on the leak or the one Lute spoke to at the very end.
Adam kicks Alastor's ass pretty quickly (It seems like Adam isn't really trying for most their fight on top of that), that's something I really enjoyed seeing

I'm surprised Vivzie let her baby lose and run away.
I wonder if Adam calling Alastor "edgelord" was a self-aware reference.

I don't think Charlie ever taught the guests at the hotel about sacrifice for the good of others. Trust and forgiveness were the two lessons if memory serves. It's kind of a sad thing for the denizens of hell. A lot of them are noble in character, but not in action until they are given a chance to do good. It seems like they were never given an opportunity in life to prove their better nature. Moreso than that they were evil to begin with.

If Adam does come back as a demon (which would make sense), I assume he'll want revenge. Wonder if he'll team up with the Vs?
If Adam does come back and I don't think he will, it will probably only be for a gag to help explain how the hell death now works in this show, since as soon as word gets out that Adam is in Hell everyone and their mother there will be wanting some good ol' fashioned revenge and I'd imagine his Sinner form would look like his Exorcist uniform.

Either way I hope Season 2 slows the pace down and answers some questions from this finale (Do what Helluva Boss didn't), for all we know Pentious not being killed by Heaven steel and instead being erased by Adam's beam might have something to do with him arriving in Heaven, it's definitely weird how he appears right in front of Emily and Sera instead of showing up at the front gates like everyone else.

Ngl, I like 7/8 much more than the previous episodes. The profanity was jarring, and I REALLY wish that the characters had some wit to them instead of "I'm gonna fuck u up" 100 times. Like, even Adam's comment about radio being dead and Alastor saying it's the end of his broadcast was much better than usual. The lines were still clunky, but I like that they tried to do something with it. I want clever writing so bad.
Lucifer's fight was fun to watch, but I wish we had known him a bit longer in the show for it to have a harder impact. Nifty was fun as always, and her little gag with Alastor laughing was cute. Also liked her instinct to attack "Angel". Pentilous was fun to observe, and, interestingly, he knows how to lead in battle, though I wish his "death" wasn't so anticlimactic and done within, like, 5 seconds. I'm glad that Lucifurry and Charlie seem to be getting closer, though.

Watching Vox and Valentino dancing around was fun, though I wish Velvette could've joined in the fun instead of being sidelined. The V-neck crew watching the broadcast was fun, but the "this is better than sex!" line was jarring, among others. I was expecting to hear something clever or for him to grab Valentino and do a victory makeout or something (especially since he was talking about how hard he was. It's really weird to have characters do stuff that...doesn't really build up to anything). By the time the duet came, I had already kinda forgot about them being there.

Camille/Carmilla/whatever her name is had a much better song this time, the fight/dance was fun to watch and I'm glad it wasn't just close-ups of her face like the last one. I think the music was generally an upgrade in these two episodes.

Alastor in Charlie's bed will fuel the Charlastor people; I can't tell if Vivzie hates that ship or likes it between this and the "dad" thing, too, especially with him being the one to "comfort" her. I hope the deal between the two of them leads to something worthwhile. I wonder if the "favor" he's gonna ask Charlie for is to free him from the chains of her mother. It would make the most sense with Lilith being shown. I have no idea if Eve has Alastor's chain, though why she would want him. Alastor getting one shot while being cocky was so deserved; I hope it humbles him a bit.
Alastor and Rosie seem to be close; I really liked Rosie's personality; her lack of constant cursing made her so much easier to listen to, and she was mother-like too which was a change of pace for these characters. She even brushed off Alastor's clothes to tidy him up, and she has a fun design. It could just be the lack of red but I like her.

What I didn't like (beyond the reiterated pacing and line issues) was the change from "Alastor is missing!" to "Hi, I'm back" within five minutes. Vox could've been toned down some. Also, Rosie acts shocked that Alastor is back, but...she saw him at the dead angel meeting. Weird that she acted like it was her first time seeing him again.

Overall, I liked it. It wasn't terrible, and it feels like more effort was put into the episodes. I'm gonna miss Adam if he's really done in, but with only his halo being taken, I wonder if he'll be back with his regular body as a demon. I bet Lucifurry would enjoy messing with him.

These two episodes have been the most uncool fanfiction tier stuff I've ever seen and I can't get past even one scene without cringing to death or finding the dialogue and voice acting are horrible. It's worse than even Kingdom Hearts, and Adam has to be one of the least likeable OC-tier characters in the show. Fuck this fuck that shit fuck cunt bitch. Vaggie's voice actor needs to sniff some coca, she's flat as shit. All the voices are inferior to the plot, I don't know why you'd hire a bunch of broadway homos instead of you know... someone that actually fits the character?

Sorry but some of you niggas are huffing industrial grade h/copium. Even if I didn't think musicals were gay and lame, the whole thing is rushed and has nearly nothing to do with the pretty good pilot. Its some autistic show about a fight between angels and demons now I guess, not better than any of the other gay Cartoon Network shows from the last decade. I want to like the show as much as you do and think its a flawed masterpiece or at least a decent show being held down by bad tendencies, but its not. Its just flawed. No amount of screen time of Angel Dust being best boy will ever fix that.

I grew up in a time when animated musicals had two actors for each character. One capable and expressive in the way they spoke and one to sing the musical numbers. The pilot actors were mid in both aspects. The issue is that with a lot of these new actors specifically Charlie, the musical aspects are the main skill and the voice acting isn't. Husk's and Angels VAs are strictly better though. This is a cost cutting issue along with poor vocal direction. It's not really the actors fault they are just being used for the wrong things based on their qualifications.

Edit: I don't think the VAs should have been replaced for the really distinct voices, Angel and Husk should have been kept, but an appropriate musical performer should have been cast for their musical segments. A good example of this is from the Don Bluth movie Anastasia which saw Anya being voiced by Meg Ryan and sung by Liz Callaway. Note the transition between speaking and song in the clip below.

episode 7

Vaggie not knowing how to kill angels is stupid. She was hurt by a spear before and now she says she didn't know it was possible?

Did Camilla find out she was an angel because of the "X" and the spear? Viv stole from the theorists, from 5 years ago.

Pointing out that no one discovered something obvious doesn't fix stupidity.

the conflict between Charlie and Vaggie was stupid as I knew it would be, because there is no drama, the revelation of the secret has no weight, Charlie was angry for no reason and it got better when they pointed it out, they didn't even talk about them they just forgot because it didn't matter from the start. waste of time

"just sing and everything will be fine" even if you are singing about leading them to die because of you that they have no reason to care and if demons don't know that angels can die why would cannibals be happy to be able to eat angels instead of asking How could they? They are marching into a fight where they could die without accomplishing anything and they don't care.

The characters' loyalty in the end is unearned and cringe, I know they had 5 months together but on screen we saw nothing of Charlie talking to them on any deep level.

episode 8

Now Cherri is a good friend to Angel? and this speech about how Charlie loves these guys, it's an honor to know them and how they tried to redeem themselves, not just the residents but this faceless mass is just pathetic at this point. you guys skipped all of this in off screen land.

the relationship between Cherri and Pentious is meaningless, as is this fight between a bunch of characters that we more or less know superficially and a horde of faceless people killing another horde.

and Sir Pentious did nothing but give orders on the ground and on a balcony and watch a camera when he could have been in the airship with a death ray and several weapons. he died without accomplishing anything and it didn't seem like he had any intention of sacrificing, he just made a stupid decision. How did this shit guarantee him Heaven? I don't know

"these sinners are my family" Yeah right, and how did Vaggie get the spear out of her hand? Was Lute not putting any pressure on? and Vaggie has no reason not to kill her besides saving her for future seasons, Vaggie has no mercy with anyone who attacks Charlie

the King of Hell has to fight alone because he has no one to command and no one respects him to be afraid when he appears, a battle against Heaven takes place and Hell doesn't care that much even though they are reporting it apparently live

and the season ends with no damage since everything was fixed even better in a montage, Heaven is still a problem and I don't know why they still sing about redemption after killing so many angels and having zero proof that this shit hotel works.

fuck that was miserable
