So I saw someone brought it up, but there really must be some kind of threshold or ratio for someone to actually get repent in Heaven. Because while Pentious sacrificing himself was noble, we still don't know what he did to end up there in the first place. Maybe murder, maybe robbery based on how he acts in his place in Hell, but whatever he did previously seems like it wasn't bad enough to leave him eternally damned.
And the reason why I'm bringing this up is that we don't see his eggbois show up with him when he responds, and assuming those eggheads were actual people in a previous life, this implies that what they did beforehand and sacrificing themselves wasn't enough to get them into heaven.
Really makes you think.

Honestly the first season really reminds me of this meme

A dude with a channel called "Equestria Guy" gushing over Hazbin Hotel with two lesbians kissing in the thumbnail. Guess how he looks?

At least he's honest. Though I wonder if he will ever try to troon out in the future? I don't see much of these types of people remain their actual selves nowadays. His channel is kinda wholesome in a way. Hope he doesn't become a complete degenerate as he grows older.

I suppose Vivz does show what virgins think good relationships are well to other virgins 🤔

According to the Wiki they are manufactured by someone other than or with Pentious:
FireShot Capture 008 - Sir Pentious - Hazbin Hotel Wiki - Fandom - hazbinhotel.fandom.com.png

meaning that either they have no souls to redeem or they are considered hellborn and not sinners.

... so then how the fuck does Hell know what the criteria is for ending up down there?
They don't. It's vague on that end as well.

God is probably similar to the Watchmaker model where he set up the basic mechanisms and started life up and then checked out and left things to the Seraphim to manage. That's why it was a choir of angels that chided and then exiled Lucifer. So the Seraphim don't know the criteria for how souls are judged and haven't questioned it since the system has worked for thousands of years without a problem on their end.

sure wish we could've been shown that instead of a million musical numbers about how every character wants to fuck each other (figuratively or literally)

Definitely had a rushed plot. I'm not sure why they only got 8 episodes but if I was amazon I would be upping the numbers because the songs are at betwren 5 and 18 million views and it's only been 3 weeks.

You know what is a big issue with trying to "Snoot Game" this setup? Its that Goodbye Volcano High had a good setup for something interesting to grow from it. But H.H's setup and world building are just so hollow and mediocre that it nears that Magical Girl Guardian show I legit cant recall the name of at times. The world doesnt have to always make 100% of sense, it just needs to be pretty engaging that people want to keep following it. But Vizzie's writing is surprisingly lacking in depth, risk and filled with "safe edgy".

Safe edgy is basically edgy but without the risks, with it just sticking to acceptable groups and naughty words that dont go too far (nigger, tranny and even faggot are obviously off limits nowadays). Edgy is naturally risky by nature and Ik we associate it with edge lords but you can write something edgy but that had depth and a point to it all. Not even villains are allowed to be too nasty because we cant separate fantasy from the real world anymore.

I dont mind Hell not being a biblically accurate fire and brimstone, this is meant to be a creative endeavor afterall but it feels so disconnected from the rest of the religious concepts that makes one wonder what is the point. If Hell was an alien dimension, would much need to be changed? Not much, thats how little the setting actually matters.

I always thought Hazbin Hotel felt like a mature rated High Guardian Spice (Well, it's technically ALREADY mature rated, but they actually wanted it to be a kid's show and it you can definitely tell).
They both share a lot of problems, namely the unnecessarily large scope for the pacing and amount of episodes, the genuinely stupid protagonists, villains that are either barely villainous or just safe edgy bullshit, out of place swearing, lack of establishing how anything works outside of what you immediately see on screen, which isn't much, and even the type of mediocrity that makes you acknowledge that they both exist as shows, and nothing else.

Yeah I dislike how pretty much all TV shows have to follow the Anime/Soap Opera structure since the 2000’s.

It’s why I have a hard time getting into shit these days because I can’t just watch any episode of it, I have to watch a show from beginning to end.

Like, I can watch any random episode of Andy Griffith and get a whole self contained story in half an hour. Or an episode of Cheyenne, or The Rifleman or almost any of those westerns. Having a story continue to the next episode and be a two or three parter happened like once a season. It’s why I liked the Pilot and the earlier episodes of Helluva Boss. Self contained stories that resolved.

Vivz stumbled on implied depth with HH since the setting and character designs referenced archetypes and prior art that's deep and rich.

I'm seriously on the fence about postponing other projects of mine to make my own hellstory exploring the same premise but done by a fucking adult. The notion of "Hell's just a more honest modern earth but with a lot of very old damned running around, and we lean into the venerable nobles & generals of the great old empires instead of just do neon pink faggotry" is compelling, as is "Lucifer's offspring isn't a piece of shit and wants to fix the cosmic injustice of eternal damnation."

Hell (heh), I might even go for healthy gay relationships and damned autists but done in a mature way just to challenge myself.

That's really the crux of this shit and how it works, isn't it? Your imagination goes wild with it. What is the culture of such a place like? What about sub cultures? How do age-old damned treat the newbies? What are the stable states of such a society? Did millions of dead communists pull some shit? What would Lucifer think of it, one way or another, if he's characterized as pro self empowerment but cooperation clearly works? What are the old Roman elite up to? What are the old Chinese elite up to? What if someone wrote tenderness between a gay lead couple instead of this bone-dry stodgy bullshit that makes Orange is the New Black's later seasons look well written? What if Charlie's makeup got washed off and it's just fucking Piper?

There are all of these what ifs people run with and think about or fanfic or roleplay for people with brains, the teenage girls draw tons of character art, the men who want to be teenage girls pretend to be them on F-List, and then the show comes out and you go "oh yeah Vivz is just an animator, not a writer, oh well" and despite that you still keep returning to the concept wondering how it could play out with a better writer and you really do want more.

Son of a bitch. You don't even need a show at all, never mind a good one, if you get people engaged with what-ifs, huh?

I think the advantage of the Snoot game was the setting of Volcano High, being a highschool and a visual novel already makes it easier for character interactions and focusing on their stories, but HH completely ignored the story engine of the titular Hotel and went straight to a war against Heaven.

So a Snootification of HH would consist of ignoring the original plot, Heaven has to be less present, focus on the residents of the Hotel and make it the setting and not skip 6 months of interactions between the characters.

Also not being afraid to portray the worst of humanity, I would make every resident worthy of being in Hell, not "they just had a hard life and were forced to sin and are actually innocent" crap.

Their evil has to be a choice that they regularly made in life, even if in the beginning they didn't have much of a choice, for them to remain on this road and double triple down on their sins is their fault and they have to see that.
