What about actual killers who killed out of hatred? Every genocidal dictator? Could they be redeemed?
Didn't Adam and Lute kill because they enjoyed killing sinners? Alaster is also a serial killer and he's praised, so the moral of the story is you should kill your enemies for power or something, unless you're a gay clown, then just be you. I'm starting to think Viv's writing is kind of stupid.

I've never watched any of the show, but maybe the fact that those depicted in Hell are not shown as evil is actually the point? Their greatest crime was being themselves so now they reside in Hell with fabulous character designs reflective of their true nature?
That just makes it even more bizarre that she doesn't have the guts to actually criticize anything outright.
She can't even be an edgy fedora tipper correctly.

To change the topic a bit from Creole sperging, I swear I remember when the Hazbin pilot came out there were plans for a community project to remake the pilot in an animu art style, something like those “reanimated” collaborations that are all the rage on animation YouTube. However, it has been almost 5 years since the pilot and I have heard nothing further about this project, so I’d like confirmation if this was a real thing or some figment of my imagination, and if it is/was real, what happened to it?
Speaking of reanimated stuff, VivziePop was apparently in a Cartoon All-Stars reanimated collab. The goal was to reanimate the song about saying no to drugs, and she butchered the antagonist's appearance. Here's what he looks like in the actual show-

It's astonishing how she stripped the purple weed man of all his aura. He looks like Alastor now, it's like she can't help herself

Again, I haven't watched the show, so maybe my conjecture is off-base. Are the heavenly/angelic beings portrayed as virtuous? Are they portrayed positively? Are they oppressors?

What would it be like to punch one of Viv's smiling friccers in the face so hard their smiling teeth get smashed to pieces?

I wouldn't say positively, but not outright negatively outside of them being bumble fucks, it's more that they're portrayed as the same as hell, clueless at best and malicious at worst. I'm sure Adam and friends are intentionally made out to be extremists, but his right hand man in Lute is portrayed as deranged but loyal. Maybe that's because it's written by retarded Californians, but Adam is a dipshit, and Lute seems like an overall good person.

I got a good laugh out of this furry with a synth fursona self insert skewering the show's mistakes. I got a bigger laugh out of how the intro was a 1:1 copy of My Little Pony's intro.
Laughing at Furries is the favorite pastime of this site. But more importantly is the video your describing the funny kind of bad or just plain cringe?
I've been reading this thread and lurking. So I want to ask your opinion of Hazbin Hotel defenders like Ayy Lmao and iox. Is their content good or bad? Should I keep watching their channel to see the pro-HB side of the conversation?
As someone who likes Viv's work but see's it has imperfections I can tell you not every fan of Viv's work is cringey or bad. Ayy LMAO I always viewed as a neutral figure in the community. I have no idea who Iox is.

Maybe we don't see the worst sinners because they're considered irredeemable. This Hotel concept sort of reminds me of Catholic Purgatory, and not all sinners are eligible for Purgatory.

That's a theory people have, as there's somewhere sinners can go if killed in hell and they can be redeemed, so it doesn't really make sense. Then again, it could just be retarded writing.

Not counting the fallen angels, there are two ways Angels are portrayed in Hazbin Hotel in terms of groups.

There are exterminators who are bloodthirsty psychopaths who get off on killing damned souls.

Then the rest who are just good virtuous angels who had to be kept hidden about the mass murders the other angels commit.

Now for specific characters there are four important angel characters (that are still in Heaven.)

Adam is basically a dipshit fratbro who is an over the top misogynist and wigger. Probably implied to be if Adam didn't bite into the fruit of knowledge given how he believes he had done nothing wrong and is basically spoiled.

Lute is his loyal right hand man but seems to be more into the "Deus Vult" side of killing

Emily who is a virtuous angel who believes in the concept of redemption and forgiveness.

Then there's Sera whose probably the most poorly written of the angels (or most poorly written character in the show). She endorses the exterminations due to a belief that for some reason Lilith plans this big epic plan to invade Heaven despite having a magic ball that lets her see into Hell, brings the main character, Charlie, into Hell for a trial about the human soul because Lucifer asked for a favor given how retarded she is, probably only did it due to fear of Hell's retaliation or some bullshit, and didn't want word of the exterminations to the other angels despite bringing in a character who literally has beef with Heaven over it and who knows what would've happened if she tried to endorse it.

Viv has said that the "the really bad guys like hitler and pedos" just die without going to hell because their souls get deleted or something.

Which is even more retarded when it comes to the setting for too many reasons to count. For one it means that the people who most deserve to go to hell are spared of it.

For another it means that hell isn't the worst punishment, for some fucking reason.

If viv does believe unredeemable people exist then she should have set the show in purgatory and sent "the bad guys" to actual hell, because purgatory is for the redeemable and hell for the unredeemable.

But as has been established, hazbin hotel isn't set in hell. Its set in LA. Which is arguably worse than hell, but whatever, I'm putting more thought into this than viv did.

I'm super late but isn't the original storyline for Hazbin Hotel is the hotel acts as purgatory because the Hell is overcrowded?
Did Viv change it for some reason?

Shame, it has potential to be a good show.
That's the thing really, Viv has just enough skill and talent to gain attention but at some point she failed to really use it for anything of value. It's like someone wanted to design a luxury car and blew their whole budget on the exterior only to end up using the internals of a Honda Civic.

Funny kind of bad at Vivz' writing cringe delivered through a deadpan furry with a synth self insert. Or, in short, Yes.

She's clearly on the spectrum, but she is an amazing designer and animator. The problem is that she can't write for shit.

She needs a writing team that can argue with her, an editor with potato wrangling chops, and a mentor with the patience of a saint. She has great concepts but her execution is shit since she can't outline or plan to save her fat ass and it really looks like she animates her own self edited first drafts.

As with many Viv projects, she got sidetracked and lost the plot. Business about demons who do assassination? Fujoshi gay relationship drama. Hotel to redeem sinners? Heaven vs hell but heaven BAD actually

Viv has good ideas for episodic shows but has this strange compulsion to serialize her shows for some reason
