I'm not that surprised. If Harry Potter, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and basically everything else that shaped the culture of tumblr has taught me, it's that there is a particular and sizable demographic of people who absolutely love mid-effort garbage.

-Charlie did fucking nothing but anger Adam enough to give them 6 less months.
-The only 2 sinner they get are 2 losers avoiding their abusive bosses.
-Husk is the only person who did any progress on a sinner by forcing Angel to be honest, but that doesnt mean Angel regrets his past sins.
-5 month timeskip and Charlie is trying to convince adam that Angel should go to heaven because he told his pimp to fuck off once offscreen.
-The only reason this doesnt work is because no one actually knows how people go to heaven (?????)
-We get a forced war for the sake of an epic finale
This is literally worse than helluva's cause at least that had 1-2 I.M.P. focused episodes. I'm trying to make a comparison but i can't convert it into another show cause it would be too absurd. I legit can't think of another media that completely disregarded it's supposed premise this hard.

I don't know, I think Helluva is still worse than Hazbin in terms of sticking to the premise. Hazbin still is at least focused on stuff relating to getting sinners to Heaven, yeah there isn't a weekly thing about rehabilitating sinners, but at least there's a way to see how you can get to where it is. Not that it's good, but there's at least a point A to point B.
Like if it was just season 1 of Helluva, I'd actually agree it stuck more to where it is than Hazbin, but season 2 goes completely off the deep end.
Helluva was about killing humans for a job, but where does it go from that to being a show about dealing with the assassin's daddy issues, and more focus on the gay owl dad. Where does this even connect to killing humans? The whole assassin thing just feels like set dressing for the whole gay drama.

The passage of time in this show is done terribly. You're telling me five months have gone by through episodes 1-4? One month, maybe (it's funny cause that's what happens for episodes 5-
, but not five months. There's no way in hell five months worth of shit happened in those four measly episodes. Everyone just remains stagnant. It's only after Lucifer shows up where we start speed running.

Watched the Helluva Boss pilot. Significantly better and more understandable.
Charlie's VA. She voiced Noelle in the dub for Black Clover and married Asta's VA, Dallas Reid, in 2019.

Like, you remember that Verbalase guy who paid big money to get animated in that HH video?
Well, I’ve seen a lot of men and women with talents in animation like Viv, and they do the same thing as Verbalase. They animate themselves or their self-insert oc into their favorite show and post it on YouTube.
The point is, I think the only way for Western Animation to get itself out of its current dilemma is for people with the talent/skill, competence and maturity to take the reigns.

I think the idea is that people give a pass to cruel villains but hate Valentino. Even ignoring the idea that "rape is worse than murder", it misses the point that
1-Those villains are either hyper tragic or hyper charismatic, and valentino is not.
2-Valentino is what i can only describe as "Recurring edgy rapist/slavemaster that somehow doubles as comic relief", which i never seen ever.
I dont even hate Val as a character but i can't respect the absurdity of his portrayal. Vivzie wants to Val to be an irredemable rapist / slaver but also a wacky funny guy hanging out with his quirky gang BUT ALSO an unironic hot tumblr sexyman. That's the "offensive" part.

Helluva Boss's first season, or at least the pilot through episode 7, was actually quite good. The pilot and the first episode give us a perfect set up of the world, the characters, and the job they do. Episode 2 gives us more focus on the (then) most important side character and also gives minor tidbits of backstory to Blitzo. Episode 3 is the first Loona episode and again develops the world more, while still focusing on IMP's job at the same time, and also developing several characters and their relationship with each other. Episode 4 would also be a lot better and more relevant if the Cherubs or Heaven did anything ever again but at the time it still at least had IMP working and trying to get paid. Episode 5 was the biggest outlier but it was still character development and gave us new information. Episode 6 is kind of like episode 4 but at least it starts because they just got done doing a job.
Episode 7 is kind of where the show begins its switch to what it became in season 2 but at the time I felt it worked well as a finale to the first season. But after that point, episode 8 and the start of season 2, it just became a mess and everything interesting was dropped.

Also the tumblrtards that get mad about Valentino are the same people who sperg out about Griffith, so the point the comic was trying to make is kind of moot. Really, it’s more Viv’s fault for cultivating a fanbase of retards.

-A fallen Jedi that was failed by the Order he fought for and betrayed by the Star Wars version of the Devil.
-A terrorist mastermind who successfully convinced Russia and America to go to war.
-A white-haired twink who is the definition of a dick.
-A vampire who'd sacrifice anything to gain more power and to harass his adopted family.

Like I said, they chose random villains with infinitely more compelling writing, back story, design, etc. compared to Valentino.
