I dont even have words for this. I'm speechless in a very terrible way. This show is is gaslight central and everyone in those reddit and Twitter threads are falling for it hook, line, and sinker.
Sadly double posting cause I can't edit it for some reason.
This episode was what I expected and not what I expected at the same time. I knew this episode would continue gaslighting the audience that there's more to Stolas and Blitz's clearly transactional ""relationship"". I knew this episode would have some exaggerated drama and victim blaming. I knew it would end off on a lousy cliffhanger meant to make the fangirls sob their balls off because poor Stolas got his feelings hurt.
Listen.
This episode surprised me. They did strangely did well at actually bringing up the problem at hand. But my respect for that went away as soon as Stolas clearly was more upset he was having to lose his distraction than the fact he pressured him into this pity prostitution thing. Stolas knew Blitzo's life depended on that book (when he KNEW he could have Blitzo the crystal forever ago, but knew he'd lose his sex toy if he did) and he SHAMED him for it. He SHAMED Blitzo for reasonably lashing out that after this long. THIS LONG, to tell him after all the clear, lustful flirts, the sexual advances, the fact every single encounter they had with each other was sexual in a way, was on HIM and not on HIMSELF.
"Think so lowly for me" my poverty stricken hole. You're surprised Blitzo doesn't feel the same for you? You're surprised after literally keeping him under your whim, DEMANDING "a night of PASSIONATE fornication..." every month, that he saw nothing in this but sex? Did you ever talk to him? Did you ever did anything with an imp who clearly hated the fact he's being taken advantage of, how his entire livelihood depends on that book, that you could've made him feel less like a sex object and made him feel like you saw him no different from anyone else?
You never treated him like a real individual with feelings and now you're acting like you're the struggling victim here? I bet you dont know anything beyond this dude other than how big his penis is and that he owns an assassination company. This is not a relationship, this is prostitution with a good hint of forced Stockholm Syndrome added to it. Nah, man, get your emotionally unstable, antidepressants abusing self out of here. You're the 1%, dude. You have more privileges than any imp could ever beg for, more powers than any imp could dream of. You took advantage of his situation, and you're crying that you can no longer manipulate tha. Your wife throwing things at you and calling you a "pathetic man" is justified. Octavia evidently leaving you is justified. Stella, please get custody of your daughter already and win the court case so you can shove the papers up his cloaca. Preferably through force.
He truly did give his life for a meaningless thrust.
I tolerated Stolas, I tried to, but I'm a full on hater now in terms of how this show successfully gaslighted most of her audience into this soap opera of a show, of a character. Unbelievable. Worst episode in terms of Stolas characterization yet, and it's only gonna get worse from here.
The only things that piqued my interest were the return of the cherubs. Unsurprisingly, they were just comedic relief characters like DHORKs and no amount of attempting will make them seem any more of a genuine threat. I preferred them over the stupid (but well done as I hate to admit it) musical and the gay drama at the end.
And the main thing the show should've continued focusing on, that being the imps going to Earth and doing their jobs as assassins being more of a background overthought to let people be reminded that "oh I forgot they did this lol" than anything else. This doesn't beat the allegations of you guys turning a once great premise into your average Wattpad drama series.
Also surprised to hear Loona talk again. Sucks it was mainly to add something to the "Stolas leaving Blitzo behind" plot. Was happy seeing her talk when she encountered the cherubs despite it's unusual for Loona to care what her father's doing.
Ain't surpriaes at all, too, that Twitter is talking about nothing but Stoliz. Not the cherubs or DHORKs (unless to hate on em for taking precious Stoliz time). That one comment I showed a week ago was right. This show does a scarily good job at gaslighting the audience that there was a lot more to something that didn't have much going on at all after piecing things together enough.
It sucks I can only go this far with my vitriol of how backwards this show is on only this site. I'd be a prime target if I said this anywhere else. Almost every corner of the community is an echo chamber. Any real criticism and complaints will be shot down by desperate fujoshies going "uhm, actually" on you as much as they can and get everyone agreeing with them. I'm tired, boss. I really do feel bad for the people who wants to give their justified two cents on the matter.
I need a bottle of Jarritos.
