HH can't/doesn't depict these characters as being from their time periods because that would require them to use a vocabulary that contained words we regard as offensive now. These folks would be dropping a lot of homophobic slang like "fag" and "fairy" plus a lot of racist shit like "nigger", "chink", "gook", "kike", etc. Do you really expect me to believe a majority of folks in Hell would be perfectly okay with the daughter of Satan being a LGBT Disney princess? Most cultures and time periods were less than friendly towards homosexuals. She'd be exploited for her naivete.

Ever since the start, even when I naively thought this show was gonna be good, Charlie's character made no fucking sense. So you have this uwu innocent, kinda stupid, openly gay/bi princess, who no one respects, and refuses to assert any authority which she absolutely could do at any time, but just freely roams around the city that's ostensibly supposed to be hell, even apparently patching up Vaggie who she thought was just a random sinner, and nothing bad happens to her? Even Stolas, in spite of being Stolas, understood that people would try to kill him if he just casually walked around in Loo Loo Land.
Her entire life could be spent inside Lucifer's palace and it wouldn't justify her keeping up her sparkly disney princess demeanor if she took a single walk through Pentagram City. They might as well have made HER a fallen angel while Vaggie's the princess of hell.
Motherfucker, even TODAY you got losers endlessly jacking off their precious wojaks the instant they see a pride flag online, people who lived and died centuries ago are not gonna be singing shitty songs with the daughter of the devil and masturbating to their favorite twink pornstar. Which reminds me, there's no fucking way "slut" is the worst thing Angel's been called before.

Every June, was the HB fandom.com logo in gay people month mode?

Usually these sorts of logo changes are gaudy as all hell, but the hotel would ABSOLUTELY be painted rainbow every june in the show, which tracks with the weird lack of homophobia in literal hell.

Stolas is such a bizarre character, because I don't think I've EVER seen a character with a wider contrast between how the narrative frames him and who he actually is since American Psycho, which was supposed to be intentional because he's the narrator.
Whatever man, I just hope Octavia gets a happy ending of some sort by the end, because she's as tired as all this childish gay shit as the audience is. I swear if that storyboard of her finally cutting Stolas off happens, I will drop this show on the spot and pretend that's the series finale.

One of the biggest problems with Stolas is that he has very little, if any empathy and pretty much never takes other people's emotions into consideration until he finally gets a reality check that he promptly ignores next episode "My 17 year old daughter is sick of me and my weirdly cartoonishly evil wife fighting over me cheaing? I know! I'll take her to a park for children and flirt with the guy I uprooted basically her whole life for. Some imp who barely knows me is fighting for his life and I CAN SEE HIM almost getting shot multiple times? Perfect time to make him my bitch. My daughter ran off to the human world and might be in danger? Meh, lemme flirt with my imp fucktoy."

Stolas has the slowest reaction time to...just about everything it seems. He suggests to go to a place that his daughter enjoyed when she was younger, and when she responds that she would rather kill herself, he doesn't react to the statement and just takes her anyway. He doesn't notice that's she's not happy there until she actually runs off crying, because he's too busy simping over Blitzø. Same thing pretty much happens when they're supposed to see the stars, but he's too busy yelling at Stella over the phone to even notice how upset she is. This time he doesn't even realize that she ran off until Blitzø calls him about Octavia taking the book. What if Blitzø had never called Stolas? Would he even had known that his daughter went missing? Probably not.

And he doesn't just do this with Octavia. When Stella is screaming that she wants Stolas dead at the dinner table, Stolas I assume doesn't realize that his wife is trying to kill him because he's too invested in his imp erotica. When Blitzø is giving very clear signs that he's not into Stolas' sexual comments, Stolas continues to just do so. I swear, you have to drop a fucking piano on Stolas just for him to notice that he cut his finger on a piece of paper. He's that frustrating to watch.

I think Stolas is so unlikable because his (original) personality doesnt match his current backstory, thus leading ti a bizarre hypocrisy whiplash.

If you had to guess Stolas childhood by season 1 you'd think he was a spoiled brat. He's a powerful demon prince so logically his arrogance and ignoring others makes sense.

But season 2 reveals Stolas is actually super fucking depressed and was abused his whole life by a woman he hates. You'd think Stolas would be a more humble empathic person but somehow he isnt. It's not like he's faking smiles to cope because that's blitzo's thing.

It's like vivzie saw too many disney series having the bully girls being redeemed via abusive family but forgot those characters are teens under pressure while Stolas is a grown ass man with no excuses. Stella did not make Stolas a bad father, he chose to be one.

But vivzie doesnt have that awareness of Stolas flaws, she writes like Stolas' only mistake is "loving blitzo too much". Like it's not even his fault that he doesnt listen to octavia. He didnt throw blitzo out cause he's an entitled ass who cant take a no for answer, it's only cause his heart hurts sooooo much! What a sadboi

Its mostly unrelated but its an odd coincidence that I need to point out this bizarre piece of trivia, but Vivzie really had two separate broadway actors in her cast who both played the Dentist from Little Shop of Horrors (in this case it was Vox's VA and Stolas' VA)

Watched the latest episode and this isn’t a comedy anymore it’s a vapid melodrama

This one was weird since like most of the episode was comedic hijinks with the Cherubs fucking around in Hell, its like a weird sandwich where both the beginning and end were vapid melodrama while most the episode was more comedic.

Though I think at this point you really should've noticed the turn to melodrama with episode 4 where the soap opera elements were really upped with Stella's evil brother and the wangst of Stolas getting hurt.

Also infuriating, it's an easy fix. Make one or more of the main characters her bodyguard(s). Seriously just change Vaggie from a girlfriend to her servant who sticks around and tolerates her stupid ideas for a paycheck. This sort of thing could be used to explain her personality too, she been extremely sheltered and has never been allowed to see the true hell so of course she would see sinners better than they really are.

The over the top delivery and the weird costuming actually adds to the joke rather than just being "uhhh durrrr sexxxxx? Sexy sex sex?" Plus some of the stuff he's produced is actually good, like the video with the clown who was actually a mental patient being tortured by the nurses. When you take out Brandon's over the top acting and delivery you're left with bland sex jokes which SUCK

Honestly this didn’t bother me because the DHORKS are pretty much meant to be idiots and do that well. It’s just played for comedic effect and the child soldier joke made me laugh.

Also after a bit of reflection I've figured out why Brandon Roger's live action stuff doens't bother me as much as Hazbin, even though both prominently feature sex jokes: Brandon Rogers has energy in his acting. I'd have to disagree, even with the over-the-top delivery, which is really good, you can tell he's still pretty good at writing dialogue, jokes, and plots in his own videos, at least, last time I checked. HH and HB's season 2 have none of that, showing he was really hard carrying most of season 1.

I am convinced that most of the actually funny stuff in the show is from Brandon Rogers.

Helluva Boss became a really gay melodrama for most of the second season focusing on relationship drama.

Hazbin Hotel has its issues but it ended up being just okay and did very well financially for Viv.
