The only reason Mammon is portrayed as bad is cause "muh capitalism bad". Nevermind that Spindlehorse itself is an actual capitalist hellhole.
Unintentionally, that's why Mammon is probably the best character in the show. Their hatred of capitalism allows them to make a character actually embody their sin along with the fact he's funny which makes him immune to being turned into a sad boy

Honestly, the reason why Lust and Gluttony are portrayed as the "good" Sins is because of the way our modern society is. We live in a time of "sexual freedom" and "body positivity", so to criticize such things would be considered in poor taste. It's fine if you countless amount of sex with whoever you want. It's fine if you whatever and however much you want. If it makes you happy and it doesn't hurt anyone, it's okay (even though, one can argue it can hurt others, just not in a direct way).

God forbid they were portrayed negatively, as there's a reason why the sins are called sins. Lust because people get lost in what matters most, especially in their engaged lives (which ruins families, and in turn affects society at large); Gluttony because you ruin yourself and those around you by consuming large amounts of food. Before the industrial era it was even worse, as food was RELATIVELY scarce (compared to today at least) and you wanted all for yourself.

I'm curious which of the other sins would be portrayed as good or bad. Wrath would probably be used to bash "toxic masculinity" while Pride is now synonymous with the gays and would be seen as a good thing, despite Lucifer not showing much pride in Hazbin.
Pride probably has more to do with that retarded "Happy Pride Month" thing last month the studio released. Wrath could be truly interesting as well, but perhaps it would be the second hardest sin, alongside Envy.

I feel like Envy could be bad if Viv projects the mentality of “haters are jealous” onto them

>Not showing much pride
Everything he did is informed by Pride. Dude believed he could improve on the grand design of reality, fucked it up. Tried to fix the scum of Humanity, fucked it up. Tried to keep his wife (not wholly clear yet), fucked it up. And he still had the gall to look down on Adam and Alastor, and his daughter had to take several first steps before Lucifer stopped jerking himself off with those fucking rubber ducks.

I like the fanfics where Lucifer proudly proclaiming "He is now in HIS house!" and promptly gets his shit pushed in by Adam. Because Viv is never going to let "Haha funny sad clown dad" catch an L.

Unironically, western civilization is suffering from success. If children had to spend some time outside the cities, deep in some godforsaken forest to learn how to survive in the wild, maybe they'd see Gluttony and Lust with scorn again because the former hoards food and the latter is too busy cooming to do his or her part of the work.

(Highlighted) there's your problem. Adam cannot win, it would hurt Vivizie's ego.

As for the underlined part, wholly agreed. Wrath would want petty revenge over something minuscule, and Envy would be dangerous as it would create not just drama, but discord (not the application) over the team. So you can't give life lessons on a cartoon for teendults where you have homo-romance, cussing and killing.

Calling it now, Leviathan isn't the real Leviathan, he just envied the OG behemoth so much, he stole his form. The actual Envy is a slithering worm-sized thing that loses all respect from everyone once the truth is revealed. Also, I'm in no way being original, the idea came from Full Metal Alchemist and a fanfic called "Paint it, Black".

Gluttony isn't just about food, it's also about love of any excess, including extravagance or decadence. Lust can be considered a subcategory of gluttony, especially in today's world where porn is readily available.

Now, when you consider that leftie and progressive types absolutely love Apple products (electronics and computers that are more like fashion accessories rather than functional devices), funko pops, or overpriced coffee, yeah.

Oh yeah, I know Gluttony is more than just food; I was just putting out one example of it. If you think about it, all the seven sins correlate with one another since if you're committing one of the sins, you're probably doing the other six at the same time.

I just rewatched “Apology Tour” with my friends because they hadn’t seen it yet.

Holy fuck, it was worse than I remembered, especially that fucking song. I know it’s been said countless times here already, but please, bring back the original premise. I am in no way opposed to character development, but this yaoi shit just isn’t the way to do it.

Do you think there's any chance of the show going with implicit sexual content, akin to Ren & Stimpy Adult Show?

Have you seen the show? It has already, there's a shit load of BDSM and dildo imagery
Sorry - I mean, something akin to moaning and perhaps sexual scenes. Maybe I worded a bad reference, something like HBO level of sexual intercourse, where it appears characters nude and "just near climax" level.

And yeah, never watched the show, but I figured there was that sort of thing.

Yeah all of those things are there too, even in musical numbers for Helluva Boss.
