Basically, our new Sir Pentious...who is voiced by Richard Horvitz.

Listen, I love Richard Horvitz as much as the next guy, but did he have to voice Baxter? Is this just a given; he has to play every short, nerdy guy? You couldn't find another Broadway star Viv, like with every main character you replaced with?
I really do hate type casting, there's a lot of legitimately talented actors out there who get stuck playing the same one or two characters.

inb4 someone sticks her in a jar filled with semen
Happened already.

Holy shit, so Viv really was just being lazy with the humor in the first season. Cause look at this, she actually can write a semi-decent scene with comedy that doesn't utilize swear words or sex jokes. And not just with one character like Niffty or Alastor either, but she can do this with every character. I don't know if someone on the staff advised her to tone the cluster curse words/ sex jokes down and she listened or Viv just realized it herself but damn, this just makes the first season's humor look even worse now that we know that she could do this all along.

That's the frustrating thing about Vivzie. She's fully capable of making good stuff and not making a fool of herself, but she squanders it.

Now this, I'm pleased to hear. Glad to know he will exist in Season 2. I am a bit disappointed in his voice but he is a mad scientist so they had to sell the "typical mad scientist" voice. It's a bit grating but I'll get used to evidently. The way they handled his expressions made me think I was watching HB for a second there. Oh wait, I wonder why....

Of course it's Richard Horvitz voicing Baxter. I'm not surprised. He sounds way too much like Moxxie but with a slightly exaggerated voice. Couldn't get an original VA for him so let's just rehash another character into sounding like a diet Moxxie again.

Season 2 is confirmed to have 8 episodes

Here we go again

Can't blame the studios this time, Vivzie. I wonder how bloated Season 2's gonna be. Will it be worse or slightly tolerable than Season 1? Who knows! I can't wait to see S2E7 cause I bet it's gonna be some overly dramatic mess with worse time skips than the first. Fans are gonna eat it up anyways and shut down any criticizers as usual because their standards of quality are incredibly low.

Also, "beloved characters"? We barely got to know a good majority of them! A lot of them we know under surface level information, with anything further just being speculations and theories! I don't even wanna imagine how Season 2 will perform. Now knowing a Season 3 and 4 is possible, it'll be interesting to see if she'll actually redeem herself (though that's not asking a lot) with these episodes or continue showing how much she puts quantity over quality.

Not that surprised. Which means there's going to be 3 songs per episode.

My god, this is going to be paced horribly.

So excited for the songs to start out of nowhere instead of it being translated through normal dialogue. What perry said, more vinyl sales! Bigger streaming numbers! Bloat more singy-songy stuff to your oh-so adult audience!

Casting of convenience. Horvitz is already on staff, so of course you're going to economize your resources. It's the same reason they got Rogers to do Katie Killjoy.

Brandon voicing Katie Killjoy was a terrible decision. It took out what made her pilot version so interesting because her pilot VA nailed everything to her character and mannerisms. All we got in the official series was just a "Chris Pratt playing Chris Pratt" kind of thing. He works well with Blitzo, but not with Katie Killjoy.

And now with Baxter, I won't hear an original character with an original voice. All I'll hear is Moxxie with a mad scientist voice. She had the money to convince a bunch of broadway stars to VA and sing in her show. Surely she would have the money to hire a VA for Baxter, no? Maybe I'm just coping too much.

I don't know why he didn't try to sound more like Orthopox as that would be more fitting for a mad scientist.

Alastor's expression here is my face for what's going on in House of the Dragon shambles in Season 2. Started off promising with Season 1, and now it's... not quite as good, shall we say. And since there'll be Seasons 3 & 4, how will the pacing go? I feel as if Season 1 will go VERY FAST, and then Season 2 will slow down, and suddenly Season 3 and 4 suitably okay-ish.

Honestly, it would not surprise me if it goes that route. Maybe Adam can suck off Angel's dick enough to be like "see guyz?!?!?! me just misunderstood!!!!111"
If that happens please just bring Spawn and AntiSpawn to cleanse this filth. Spawn will make Stolas & Satan his bitch and AntiSpawn will cleanse Heaven and make it great (again I guess).

But really, being serious, I can see Vivianne liking the further humiliation of Adam. "See, I'm sucking homo cock guise I'm a good boy current year" and then they say: "Sorry you won't get redeemed because this was all a trolling and you have been punked!! LOLOLOLOL!"

Here's some info I've been able to compile from what's supposed to be in season 2:

-Sir Pentious backstory
-Alastor backstory
-More heaven focus/heaven sub plot
-Even more songs
-Vox/Vees arc
-Whatever's happening with Baxter

This is not including other miscellaneous stuff like the supposed sexy song between Charlie and Vaggie, more focus on the other overlords, and more new characters. All in 8 episodes that will probably each be 22 minutes long. Why does it feel like season 2 will be more bloated than season 1?

The only reason I don't think Viv would go that route is her solution to problematic characters/issues is basically just sweep them under the rug and pretend they don't exist. Despite writing multiple shows where the characters are set in hell, she's really averse to featuring (intentionally) bad characters. Antagonists are basically only allowed to exist so the characters she likes have someone to dunk on or to milk melodrama, but once that's done, she wants nothing to do with them. Now if Adam was a soft sad boi, it'd be a different story.

IMO, it wouldn't be such a big deal on any other show. In fact, sometimes it's a problem, where the writers keep a villain around for far longer than they need to and the character loses all the gravitas they once hand and you start wishing they had died. But when your show is 1. Set in the underworld and 2. supposed to be about redemption, it is kinda weird you chose to just obliterate your first major villain instead of redeeming them. It just seems like such a no brainer, and if it were any other writer I might think they didn't do it because it seemed so obvious, but since this is Viv, I just think she has no foresight/plan that once Adam was gone she just went into her toybox to pull out another character to throw into the mix now that a spot opened up.

Funny you say that, I began to think about My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. I'm starting to think Lauren Faust & co. were having a few issues with that themselves on redeeming characters by the end of the show. King Sombra was just... well, killed. Discord was redeemed before turning back chaotic, Tirek was back and then a bunch of other shit happened where the villains became statues. And we're talking about a show for little girls, which has a very, very similar idea in general: redeeming people for them to become better, and the power of friendship in general.

How is it that a show for adults having (so far) troubles with the ideas? I'm going to give Vivianne a shadow of a doubt and say she'll be able to prove us wrong and show new characters and plotlines which will shock us and go "whoa, this is getting better". Trashbin homo may very well become Willbe Kickassotel (lol idk), tho I still find Helluva asinine (The protagonists are unlikeable and it feels like there needs to be a target that somehow isn't as weak as IMP thought they were and gets the squad killed or severely injured and gets stool-ass panicked. Sorry for autism moment).

I think kids shows can get a pass because of the nature of the show. Not to say kids shows can't have "smart" plots, but there's a lot more handwaving you can get away with. And one such handwave is the good guys can just beat the bad guys and that's more or less that. While I do think a lot of those stories like to explore redemption elements, it's not always a requirement. Sometimes they can just go the way of Scar or Jafar and the heroes are allowed to live happily ever after.

But with adult storylines, the audience has higher expectations and wants to see the consequences of actions, whether good or bad. Again, it's not a requirement, but given the setting and plot it's certainly set up where it would be pretty easy to happen versus a show that's more grounded in reality where dead means dead. If it was the only issue, I'd just write it off as a missed opportunity more than anything else, but when you have a list of missed opportunities as long as Viv's, it comes off as yet another example of incompetency.
