Plus you can't forget that a lot of these people have been fans for a while, some even before the pilot was in production. It's a major part of their life at this point. I'm sure some are just sticking it out because they already invested this much time to it, and then need some type of closure. Another year or two is nothing now. Reminds me of Steven Universe in that sense.

They'll probably move in with the new (((current thing))) drops that is equally gay, has furries and a bit "smarter" in terms of fujo bait. I guess wokeness points may help, but you raised a big point here - Steven Universe. Was Rebecca Sugar one of those "Interact with fans before the show was greenlight"? If so, this may explain a lot.

Maybe. She was definitely big on Tumblr early on thanks to her work on Adventure Time. And a lot of the crew in general had a presence on Tumblr. This was the era where a lot of animators would share their work and promote their shows on their Tumblr blogs.

Sorry to bring up old shit once again, but there is a common rebuttal from others that her presence on Tumblr does not match the timeline she would presumably be hired. Apparently the timeline was she joined Tumblr in the 2010s and got hired on Adventure Time much earlier in 2009 or so? Obviously there is a contradiction there, complete opposite of what the whistleblower said to EZ PZ regarding the trajectory of Rebecca's career. So what is the truth?

Feel free to rate me Retarded because I am not knowledgeable on this story.

Explains all of the gay shit with most of these shows. Makes me wonder if all of the gay rep is because of tumblr audience and them wanting to stick with them or because they are tumblr users at their core and used opportunity to add gay shit into it. I mean didn't rebecca draw that ed and eddy yaoi ship art?

Many people today are forgetting that the 2010's where crazy with new sexualities popping out every other week. Also the whole LGBTQAPM+ activism made it so that everyone was claiming to be "not straight". A consequence of teen girls discovering bisexuality and plastering it all over early social media. And all these show runners grew up exactly in the times where all these BS was boiling hard.

To the average consumer of things like HB/HH being LGBT/whatever is a must as being "normal" is boring and not revolutionary/rebel like.

This is going to bite them down hard - they will end up enforcing these rules as opposed to writing a cohesive story (Helluva Boss is going nowhere as I have observed. Started off as hired assassins, now became a case of someone having family issues and cheating on his wife and a daughter having daddy issues). What's more important? Being "woke" or writing a fucking story? I guess adding unecessary violence to the mix too. And getting things such as that mute imp where he asks for an autograph.

Then again, as I've wrote before, you see this on different levels on writing teams for big budget series. Just more subtly. It's a bit sad for what "It could have been", considering some could have dreams of maybe animating "their own story - I mean, their own animation".
And who knows if independent studios are doing crunch time to get things done. Spindlehorse, as I've read before, sure is doing the impossible.

The just part of the Animation industry in general. You either overwork your employees with little pay to get things done sooner and cheaper. Or you treat your employees in a fair manner, and get your show and movie cancel because it's taking too long/costs too much. It's very grueling and why not many people will get into said industry.

It's pretty much exactly that although I dodged SU.

The tumblr influence was obvious from the start but goddammit it still looked like it could have been good.

And even the fact Vivz had done a similar project before, Zoophobia, that also looked promising, was a good idea, and then absolutely took a steaming dump on the show premise and then fizzled out. . .

My disappointment is immeasurable.

In short, the show was branded as the rebel, opposing the system and introducing a revolution in indy animation. Even though it's the biggest by the book corporate manufactured peace of media no different than the average Netflix book adaptation.

The exact definition of "You've became the very thing you swore to destroy". Or at least, go against. The show's advertising's no different from your average corporation trying to be hip with the kids. At least some of the corporations get in with the times! The memes I've seen from the official account made it seem as if they're stuck in the 2010s. They're no different from the thing corporations think will get people rolling right onto them.

There's nothing that makes it stand out other than the show itself for being some strangely interesting interpretation of Hell. Except it's done very poorly and I'll never get over that. For a show meant to be for the (safe) edgy, hot topic, cool kids, their marketing team sure acts like a glorified iFunny account.

Holy shit I sat down and watched the fucking video - this cartoon is one of the worst fucking things I watched, plot wise, and if this is the type of stuff people watch, damn. The commentator made it bearable. Stolas is the most fucking insufferable cunt I had the displeasure of seeing. Tangent aside, I am rooting for DHORKS now, and for Loona to get ripped a new asshole, lol.

At least Eric Cartman is a funny character - and you can laugh at his wit and there is some character arc that completes him. He doesn't "always win", he's not "always right". Fuck that. How the fuck has Vivienne Medrano made South Park appear like a high, state of the art cartoon I'll never know, but here we are.

There's a good explanation of why Cartman has remained a beloved character despite being a literal bastard child.
You see where most shows like Rick & Morty, Bojack, Steven Universe, Owl House, and yes, both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss try so very hard to make you sympathize with their character, either giving them tragic childhoods, live terrible lives, or been wrong by the world.
They all failed, and the characters are still terrible people who make no honest attempt to fix their lives.
So the audience gets more annoyed when they write so many sob stories for them because it ultimately just comes off as an excuse for them to be assholes.

Eric never suffered from this problem simply because Trey and Matt never tried to make Eric seem sympathetic.
They instead fully acknowledge Cartman is a terrible person, and the entire cast of South Park calls him out for his actions and for being a fat bastard.
Because of this, Trey and Matt can pull off writing stories of Eric tricking a teen into eating his parents, convince a therapist's wife to kill herself, and convince everyone to kill the Jews.

If anything, that is what makes Eric Cartman so refreshing as the supposed "sympathetic" character is that South Park doesn't make excuses for their character being assholes and thus doesn't have to waste time making so many sob stories and can just focus on making the show funny.

Right!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I couldn't do a good analysis of Cartman, but that's exactly it. Eric isn't supposed to be relatable, you're supposed to hate him, he's supposed to be the butt of the jokes, and maybe sometimes he can make some funny jokes as well (minorities on my waterpark). So it gives Trey and Matt the excuse to play with fire.

He eats Stolas Goetia, Rick Sanchez and all other hack characters for breakfast.

Hell yeah! Imagine Cartman in HH/HB Hell. He'd be Overlord of Overlords before the week was over and then try to conquer Earth for some dumb reason like "The newest Playstation will be released in a few days! I want it noooooow!"

I find it somewhat funny that defenders say that once the show is fully finished, people who criticize it will realize how great it is actually is because they'll be able to watch it all at once. Not only is that terrible excuse to use for a show, as episodes should be able to stand on their own, it's also just not true. If anything, the show is even worse if you watch it all at once, because it feels like major chunks of the story are missing.
