Do you believe that this series will turn to shit?

Viv said Stella's backstory will be revealed later on in the series, so I'm crossing my fingers that we can get a two for one deal for her to have her own song as well 🤞
She deserves something after having been treated so abusively.

She comes across better than Stolas at this point, who is an absolute and utter dick.

I didn't think HH was popular enough that there would be this many cosplayers for it.

I think I finally understand Vivienne's secret, and I dare say she's a fucking genius. She turned both Hazbin and Helluva into the Schrödinger's Cats of western animation – shows that simultaneously manage to both be honest-to-god masterpieces AND be the dumbest, most asinine shit ever written. It is because of the viewer's mind constantly fluctuating between these two extremes that Vivzie's shows will remain in public consciousness long after they've concluded – the internet turned into a prime breeding ground for heated debates about Hazbin & Helluva's objective quality that will last for years, if not generations, to come.

pardon me for being rude, but I must be blind, as I fail to see where the masterpiece is.
The only think that's quality in value is the animation - when they overwork their inbetweeners and clean-up artists to their breaking point, the animation looks really good.

That's about all I can think of, though

This seems to be more of an Adam issue if anything. He wrote the short, and the two episodes where Moxxie gets the short end of the stick in season 2.
Everytime I think of Neylan, I'll always remember him as the guy who desperately tried to explain away the plot hole of Moxxie saying he grew up in the Greed ring when the first season stated he grew up in Wrath.
Like, you could just feel him sweating as Viv just called/texted him to come up with some explanation for their garbage plot hole.

Would you mind explaining please? I can imagine too that the animation's good, much like other productions have "good image and budgetary values" but characters act like retards and do weird stuff (Game of Thrones post season 4, House of the Dragon season 2, Westworld Season 2 beyond, etc.)

Unless you mean demons acting like assholes and you root against them?

I get the impression that when people say that Helluva/hotel are good shows its mostly cope that these shows aren't what they could've been.
I think a lot of people (me included) who aren't safe edgy teenagers and fujoshis are more interested in the world/premise of HH/HB than the show itself. They see its potential to be something really engaging and original, but then they listen to the absolutely dogshit writing and sigh in disappointment.
It could've been cool, and it was in the right spot to be the turning point in Western animation, but Alas, nothing good ever happens. :-(

That one reply is so hilarious to me. "I don't know why it was so hard for people to understand that". Maybe it's because we had an entire episode where it was said that Moxxie has lived in Wrath. Blitzø says that his employees were from there. Moxxie states he is a Wrathian.

I wouldn't be so frustrated with this obvious retcon if the characters were also surprised/confused as I was. But everyone acts like they already knew this, with Blitzø even saying, "this is your old stomping ground". There's this huge disconnect between season 1 and season 2, where it's like huge chunks of the stories are missing.

I see your pain, and I'm sorry about that. One of the animations that, despite the CalArts aspect of it it seemed to be pretty good was Gravity Falls. It ended when it had to end, was serialized in the format, and had a beginning, middle and end - even if Hirsch wants to bring it back now. And believe me, the writing is becoming dog shit all over every aspect on series. From dramas, to TV shows and even animation. Capeshit, some stuff that is hyped up and even things that fans are saying "we promise this will save the series that was ruined" are turning into red herrings of writers that are shown to be hacks (or teams who don't know how to coordinate things).

I think Vivianne should not call quits on Zoophobia and give it a second try, with all the knowledge she gained on HeilHitler, I mean, Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss to create a big thing she wanted to make back then. I don't know, maybe give it a chance? I don't know, it's hard to say.

What about the current slop of crap she has made gives you ANY confidence she has improved at all???

you know, the PERSON WHO GIVES THE PROPERTY ITS VERY TITLE - is not even in the ZP short Viv did a few years back. Not even as a cameo. That was the moment that cemented the fact that Viv had learned abso-fucking-lutely nothing in her years as a writer.

The last one is also hilarious:
Also, I think some people need clarification that Moxxie definitively wasn't forced to drown his own mother.
Well, maybe "some people" got that impression because of how the flashbacks played out. You had Moxxie's dad and mom showing two different kinds of parenting and a scene of them getting into an argument. Being a mob boss, Crimson reminded his son that nobody crosses him and next we see Moxxie being forced to kill someone and dump the body. This being storytelling 101 you would come to the conclusion that Crimson had his own wife disposed of. If that was not the intention then include a throwaway line of how the mother divorced Crimson and he used his connections to have total custody of Moxxie.

Ehhh, that's true. I guess I was being too nice to her. Mea culpa. 🤷‍♂️

I think you are giving her to much credit. The shows main reason for still having a fandom is more to do of what people think it is rather than what it actually is?

Number one: for the longest time HH/HB was viewed as the underdog taking the stance against the corporate controlled animation industry which resonated with the lefty "fuck capitalism" audience.
Number two: the show is hedonistically gay, which again spoke to all the lefty teens who use there made up sexuality as there main character trait.
Number three: fuck religion.

In short, the show was branded as the rebel, opposing the system and introducing a revolution in indy animation. Even though it's the biggest by the book corporate manufactured peace of media no different than the average Netflix book adaptation.

Again, the irony of anti-capitalists loving Hazbin and Helluva despite Spindlehorse being the very same type of capitalist hellhole with an abusive work environment they despise never fails to make laugh.

I'll add a 2.5 and 4

2.5: Because there's so many gay characters, said teens can go nuts with shipping and fanfic writing.
4: Because of the poor writing and world building, the audience is left to fill in the blanks theorize about the story and it makes it easier for them to headcannon the story so it fits what they want to see, even if Viv isn't writing that. There's also a bonus chance that, Viv will actually see it and if it gains traction, claim the idea was correct and totally intentional and not something she decided to adapt as her own.

This is a good point, yeah. It's for what people perceive plus the hedonism. I'll admit I don't know what I was talking about earlier.

I guess this is one of those cartoons where the fandom "comes out of nowhere" because teens like it and it is a hotbed for cosplay, fanfiction and what-have-you.

Right! Because of the "Lucifer gave birth to Charlie" line, now that "Big G" is kind of a fan character that is all but accepted in the fandom, there seems to be all but some to accept that that character got pregnant and gave birth to Lucifer.
