That's why they keep digging deeper to escape "normalized" specialness.

For a time, just identifying as gay was enough to earn special points and stand out and feel unique. Then everyone in those crowds started identifying as gay, and when it became more normalized, they had to invent new, more obscure (and thus more special) sexualities for themselves.

Same with mental illnesses. People used to treat depression as something that made them special, usually because it was a way to appear dark and edgy, but when everyone started listing it as something they suffered from, they had to come up with new quirky disorders for themselves, which is why half of tumblr seems to have a bunch of conditions that are so rare only a handful of legit cases exist.

You can kinda date where Viv is mentally based on the traits she uses to make her characters "special". I want to say it was like, mid 2000's when she really started getting into her projects, which was around the time where being internet unique was simpler. Being gay was still considered special and having a dark past, while arguably way more commonplace at the time, still felt unique enough where it was special. Same with the whole witchcraft/wicca thing. All those elements are still front and center in Viv's works, but she hasn't adapted some of the more "special" traits that became common in the mid 2010's to now. She's picked up a few things from those times here and there, but not with the same passion as her gay boys/sad past/satanic interests that largely define her projects.

I think if she was born 10 years later, we'd have a lot more characters who were bi/have multiple personalities/autism/are trans or some other unique gender identity/are communist or socialist. We've had a sprinkling of some of those, I want to say there's some token trans character in one of the shows and I think Alastor being a serial killer is potentially a result of that (it's always been kinda popular as a dark thing, but IMO, really took off around the 2010's) but you can tell she doesn't have the same passion for these "newer" special traits as she does the ones she grew up with.

I feel bad saying that because in some ways I admire her in at LEAST getting her things together, to get a show going. Much like Toby Fox got Undertale going, for example. I feel like a Ween admitting things like this: I have a project of something I want to do and it feels I can barely concentrate.

Unrelated but VR videos are so... unoriginal. Like, they're all identical. Hardly any of these "funny moments" stand out whatsoever. It's the same uncopyrighted music, editing, reactions, everything. It plays off like a script than an actual video going on. Even all the thumbnails are identical! Can't y'all come up with more creative thumbnails??

I guess there's only so much you can do in this godforsaken game.

This seems to be more of an Adam issue if anything. He wrote the short, and the two episodes where Moxxie gets the short end of the stick in season 2.

Yeah, I hear you. I don't know what is so fun about it unless you are there to, uh... "enjoy" the moment? Watching it either feels like two things:

• You're missing out!
• Who cares?

Oh, my bad. I thought it was Brandon Rogers voicing Stella for some reason. Now THAT would have been insane and would require the guy to have skill to make the voice of a shrill woman. I don't know, I think the show shits on Stella enough and I think that would have been the icing on this shitcake. So meh. Thankfully it isn't so.
