Wow, they're really gonna keep Brandon Rogers huh? Are they aware that he's a man and Katie's a woman or...?
cool reference but vivzie’s just hiring someone for the name, not for the chops
the original voice actor had such a spunk and personality to her, and brandon just doesn‘t live up to it or do anything new, he’s just kind of pulling a slightly effeminate voice

They're also redoing the whole "I don't touch the gays" bit, but worse and not funny. In fact, that pretty much describes the show's version of Katie Killjoy. They're like a completely different person. I can't imagine Pilot Katie Killjoy saying that she wishes Vox would "bend her" on air. She would probably snap your dick in half for even thinking she would do that. I have to remember that Katie is only shown for about 4 minutes in the 45 minute pilot anyway, yet you can tell that the Voice Actress, Writers, and Artists really put their heart to make her small screen time that memorable.

She really lost her edge. But I can pretty much say that for every character that appeared in the pilot to their show counterpart. As someone in the thread mentioned earlier, the vileness and grittiness are long gone from the pilot days.
Come to think of it, now that it's been over 5 years, what do you all think of the pilot now with the added benefit of hindsight?

I'm one of those rare people who dug the pilot, yes it has its flaws, but it showed WAY more potential for an actual 90's/early 2000's earnest edgy show instead of what we got in the end.

As someone who initially wasn't a fan of the pilot, I've come to appreciate it more over the years. I guess when you compare it to what we actually got, the pros start to outweigh the cons. Plus Pilot Charlie is more appealing to the eyes.

(This is pretty much true with every character.)

Also, what helped is that Pilot Charlie actually gave girl boss vibes and could back it up. Like, you can tell she wasn't super naive and maybe had plans for her ideas, hell she even told Alastor to pound gravel with his deal. Show Charlie? I'm sorry, this chick is like the most naive-i have no plan but it'll work somehow-idiot possible, fact she quickly accepted Alastors deal was already facepalming enough.

There are some things I like more (The humor and how some of the characters are), mainly how Charlie feels like she has a backbone more in the pilot and comes across as more proactive. There were also more edgy jokes that felt more to my sense of humor

There are some things I'm mixed about (Character design and voice acting) since while Angel and Katie are much better in the pilot, I am fine with the changes to Pentious and Husk's voices. Almost all the other pilot VAs except those four are more or less similar quality to me. Some of the designs are also mixed since Husk and Nifty got improvements in the show while Angel and Vaggie feel like downgrades.

And some negatives I have (Mainly the overuse of the sound effects were actually annoying). The sound effects were the most grating thing about the pilot and really kind of hinders any rewatch of it.

The one thing though in hindsight some stuff makes sense is the musical angle since the pilot did have three songs in it, and where the plot went in the show even if some things are stupid.

Really the most annoying thing in hindsight with Hazbin is how the show treats the events of the Pilot as canon yet still kind of retcons it which at that point I wonder if Viv could just redo the whole pilot.

Like I get the pilot is not really the first episode as stuff always changes from a pilot to a show, but with Hazbin the show itself sort of expects you to know the events of the pilot but selectively.

At least with Helluva Boss' pilot I get why you can say that's not canon and it would work for that show given the rules of the world and Stolas' entire character changing.

Hazbin has no real excuse for why especially since it is more continuity driven compared to Helluva Boss where that show's first season is more episodic.

Obviously the voice acting. Every nigga in this thread has basically come to the universal agreement that Vivienne "Fatso" Medrano should have kept the original voice actors instead of selling them out for her stupid ass broadway politics or whatever.

I still remember when Charlie told Alastor to his face that he’s sketchy as fuck, and used her inherent authority as princess to order him to help instead of making a deal. In the show proper? She can’t use that authority because it’d be meeeaaan. They seriously turned her into a damn child.

The sound effects are still annoying af, but I miss hell seeming like a meaner, fuller and more chaotic place, including Charlie herself.

The final iteration is wayyy more orderly and sanitized, tho im not sure how much of that is to blame on vivzie and how much on the corpos. Also to cheap out on animation the place is basically mostly empty, which doesn't make the whole overpopulation believable. These demons should be living in Indian style slums on the street en masse.

Also a lot of the leaks feel very mary sue in the sense that the universe and characters abandon all rationality just to act like the main characters where completely 100% in the right all along. And Alastors backstory is kinda funny but overall the show is looking to be very lame.

And why would anyone even want to go to heaven if hell is just a normal city but in red? To escape the exterminations ig, but if those were to stop then why would anyone bother going to the hotel?

Old Charlie and Old Alestor we're the best, especially Alestor when his voice modulates changes at random times, (like a radio) making him more creepy then what we got, same with the old VA's, don't know the specifics why they changes them.

Most, or at least a plurality, of Sinners should be living like they're in the Kowloon walled city. If a Sinner lives in second-rate three-room apartment, they actually got it fairly good.

Edit: Fuck it, contributing to the Adam collection. This will not become a regular thing on my end.

I will repeat myself from earlier and man Lute is unintentionally sympathetic, not because of the main characters actions since they are right to be against her given her whole extermination job. But rather the fact Queen Retard of Heaven is comforted by Angel Stella in the leaks still grinds my gears.

Say Hell was perfectly right (which is what this show is going with), Lute really did nothing that bad given she was a soldier who was likely believing in the stuff Adam and Queen Retard said about Hell, and was just a cog in the extermination machine. Sure, she was too into killing people, but they are demons who are planning an uprising.

For real world context, its like if some world leader was comforted by God after invading another country for a long time after realizing they were wrong while the soldier carrying shit out on their orders is going through a downward spiral.

Fuck Sera, she is almost on the same level of hateable as Stolas.

This was actually my first time hearing Rogers as Katie and good lord, it’s worse than I expected. None of the energy from the pilot, legitimately just sounds like a man with notes of Blitzo coming through. Why did Vivzie think this was a good idea.
Oh, that’s right. She doesn’t think.
I miss the voice actress from the pilot to. I want a god damn explanation from Viv as to what her thought process was with this casting.

Only explanation I can think of is that she is not fully sure if she'd get her Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss crossover and wanted Brandon to be in the show in the offchance that didn't happen

Gonna give you two options and one guess.
A.) Change is completely understandable like Sir Pentious being recast because Stamper became immensely self-destructive.
B.) The reason every other VA was recast because Viv burned every single bridge from the pilot to the series proper.

C.) The reason every other VA was recast because Viv wanted Broadway stars for her show - she is a theater kid who never mentally matured past high school.
