"Quite a wait" means 3+ years in this day and age. I really don't see Helluva Boss lasting until 2028 if we're being serious, it barely survived it's second season. Once all the teens grow up and start interacting with actually well written media, I think Viv's hold will be broken.

Honestly, with Cain supposing to be Lucifers kid, I can kinda see him more an ego driven type. I haven't watched season 2 but did Octavia or Stella do any exceptionally fucked up? The hate seems to be there for both of them but in Season 1 things ended with Octavia being the classic kid dealing with her parent's divorce, and Stella wasn't exactly the best person but her husband was also cheating on her with a dude which is far worse than being a bit vapid.

It's basically the fandom forgetting shit that happened in season 1. Like Stolas and Stella sleeping in the same bed up until the affair happened; or Stolas trying to cheer up his daughter by taking her to her favorite place when see was a kid, only to bring the guy he has been having an affair with along and proceed to sexually flirt with him the entire time.

It also doesn't help the fact that this show has terrible pacing, and things not adding up together what is show. For example, Stella says that Stolas has been trying to call Octavia all month, but the only time we see him trying to call Octavia is at the beginning of the episode and when he is acting as a receptionist for IMP, which is after a month has passed. During that montage of Stolas and Blitzø hanging out together, we don't see Stolas ever on his phone trying to contact Octavia. From the looks of it, Octavia is not on his mind unless the plot demands it. But we're supposed to believe that yes, Octavia is on Stolas' mind because another character said so.

It also doesn't make sense for Octavia's character to have been ignoring Stolas' calls all month long. You see how eager she is to answer the first time Stolas calls, only to be saddened and annoyed when Stella doesn't allow her. And you can't make the argument that Stella has kept Octavia's phone the entire time because we see Octavia have it in the next scene that she is. So, unless Stolas has been calling the home phone instead the entire time, Octavia has deliberately been ignoring his calls the entire month.

And we can only theorize what has been going on with Octavia and her mother that entire month, because the episode never wants to cut away from Stolas and how he feels. Because if the show was ever to show how these particular women were feeling, we might actually understand where they're coming from, and not think of Stolas as being this "pure good uwu innocent boi who is just trying his bestest". Which is why I can't even call Stella and Octavia as characters; they're just plot devices for Stolas.

I recall Stolas mentioning to Stella that Octavia is basically a "backup" heir and there was Paimon being reminded of Stolas' name because he can't keep track of his kids. For all we know, she could be one of those royals who will never ascend the throne because they have an older relative who have children of their own.

It's padded out but he does explain why it took this long. SC literally admits being a sell out that was milking every episode for the sake of his brand and how he couldn't be negative because "Every other HB channel fell off when they started hating the show" (lol) but he felt like a parasite and not enjoying it anymore.

One other thing he mentioned i liked is how the show became so devoid of nuance and depth that Millie disagreeing with Blitzo doesn't highlight either of their characters and was all a pregnancy induced mood swing. "There is no conflict guys, she was just preggers!"

Now I kinda get the complaint, the show is clearly designed for much longer seasons but, and this is a big but, it is Vivienne's job to make the show good. No one elses. If you can't tell a coherent, well paced story in 8 episodes you don't deserve more.
