I mean the fact she hid this all from every other angel is suspect, the fact she never bothered using any means to investigate despite having a magical crystal ball and the fact its implied Lucifer at least regularly talks to the Angels once a year and she never once explained herself (which like the fact there are diplomatic meetings with Lucifer at all make this stupid if he's supposedly responsible for a Hell uprising) about why the exterminations are happening really dampens any moral highground she has.

The show itself tries to frame Sera as flawed by pulling the card about all the innocent souls that were being slaughtered on her command, instead of the fact she's just dumb as bricks. Hell its implied she knows innocent souls are being killed with how she hid this information from all the other high level angels and feels guilty when Emily knows the truth, as though she knows she's doing something wrong.

Its kinda funny how Adam runs circles around her when writing and he's meant to be a more simple villain (since he just wants to do exterminations for the love of the game and possible revenge against Lucifer which makes more sense)

I feel like Charlie's stupidity is the show itself deciding between overpopulation or a fake uprising being the reason for the exterminations since it feels like the uprising thing was added to make Heaven more sympathetic or foreshadowing Fake!Lilith/Eve/Roo being the bad guy.

Overpopulation at least makes more sense and the plot point of Angels not knowing would make it make more sense compared to an uprising which should probably be something Heaven should be concerned about.

Hell the uprising angle makes it incredibly stupid how the angels and Lucifer are in contact with each other at least enough for him to set conditions on not killing hellborn which Adam and his crew apparently honor. Like wouldn't a demonic uprising make it more justified to go after hellborn than the sinners.

Viv only made him mixed because of the voodoo stuff, but then the actual series got rid of using actual voodoo symbols whereas the pilot did use real symbols, so I got two theories.

A.) A24 stepped in and told her to change Alastor's symbols from real voodoo symbols to generic off brand ones, personally don't buy this one.
B.) Viv made him mixed because some of his murder victims were racist towards him, because she demands we have sympathy for a serial killing cannibal. I buy this one.

That's true but in these shows, she doesn't even have any good critique, and it was lost the moment the angels said they have no idea what gets people into Heaven/Hell.

Both her shows just have a hollow critique of established systems that mainly serve as backdrops.

As of now, there's just no meaningful or even shallow critique of religion I see in these shows since it just feels like an aesthetic for her now.

The most I can think of is the courtroom scene of what determines a good person which again just leads into "Uh we don't know how people get into Heaven"
