>"What kind of shows does Vox watch?"
>"He'd watch.... Uuuuuh he'd watch a lot of things, he would watch game shows i feel he would watch that. He's very game show oriented. He would watch uh, i don't know i don't watch enough tv to be like 'what would he watch' i feel like he would like commercials."
I know I made a joke about this before falling unconcious but I think the reason I really didn't care about being spoiled on Tenna and the plot beats of deltarune part 3 is because oh how fucking well it tapped into the "tv guy" idea.

Vox is like "uhhh tv screen guy that's supposed to be tv stuff but he's got like a wifi symbol on his hat and tie i dunno i don't watch tv"

Tenna's like the literal personification of gameshow host, shitty quality funny public access channel stuff, the schizophrenic TV ads you used to see on occasion. And because the concept he's working on is not just cable TV but TV itself you also got video game segments and warioware inspired shit because guess what you play those on? OH GEE I FUCKING WONDER.

They're both guys in suits with a TV head but one of them is clearly giving it his all in being the TV guy, and it's not the one that got sent to hell for a streaming show! Fuck, you could have tapped into how computer monitors themselves are basically the same thing as TVs but connected to something else. Break the fourth wall or something with him being the one guy knowing he's in a show deadpool style. I'm getting SO MANY IDEAS for a basic ass TV gimmick guy here mentally AND TYPING THEM ON MY SCREEN THAT YOU, YES YOU DEADLY GANGSTER FRANKENSTEIN SLAVE, ARE LOOKING AT.
Also he kinda has that "paper mario chapter antagonist" kind of vibe for lack of a better way of putting it that's been sorely missing from a lot of games. but that's unrelated.

Should have been a signal lost screen complete with the ringing sound.

Could have been an opportunity for a decent fourth wall breaking gag too.

They're interesting as OCs. Not as actually functional IP characters.
All these dudes seem so fleshed out but only to Viv. How does anything work? How does the world work? Why does Vox want to kill Alastor?

Why does it matter??? Watch the funny hell fox deer man make him all fucking angry for some reason!!
I don't find Vox, Valentino or Velvette all that interesting. They just seem like they'll do something but then they won't do anything interesting. Like a villain who'll plan something big but then "oh well, let's not go through with it".
The idea that they'll do something is more tantalizing to the creator than actually doing the thing.
"What if Vox and Alastor had a song? What if Vox got all angry about it? Ooo what if Vox finally caught Alastor and used Angel Dust as porn fodder to get him there first"

If you think like the stupid OCs and try to 'get in Viv's head', it works better. Not by much, but it's something. She THINKS these stories are meaningful and deep, being all tear-jerky and depressing and UWU CRYING IM SO FUCKING SAD SEE IM CRYING SO IM SAD WAAAHHHH -- but everyone outside of herself can see what kind of shit she's pulling out of her ass. Noncreativity for the sake of scenes, not plot. "What if..?" the show.

She really is just playing with dolls in a dollhouse. Everything is tailored just to her. No wonder she's a spoiled brat that thinks she can push everyone around and cry to get what she wants. She's acting like she's five.

The funny thing, I'm running a super hero game for some chaps, and one of the villains I made is a TV head type. But, I play him off as a mix of Liquidator and Spamton and it's kinda a fun challange to pull off as many TV related stuff (combined with VA'in it), so amazing how hard Viv dropped the ball on this.

I cannot believe Im saying this, but theres like a quick "blink and you'll miss it" moment where an old photo of him and Al, with Vox having a box TV for a head.
There's also that picture in Episode 2 with of Vox and Val and Vox having a TV box for a head.

Back when the pilot first came out, before Viv explained the identities of the Vees, I actually figured Vox was a demon of yore, and I was one of those people who speculated that he had older model TV when he first arrived and upgrade it as time went on.

I'm sure we all have our reasons for praising the pilot's animation over the series'. One of the reasons why I prefer it is because it makes the characters actually feel like as if they've been in Hell for decades. With the exception of Velvette (and Vaggie?, if she's still human), all these characters been in Hell before the 21st Century, yet they all come off as current millennials straight out of Hot Topic, and those who are supposed to act like their time periods don't feel authentic as they should be.

Vox is one of the bigger offenders, as even though the design itself wasn't that different, he did look older thanks to the style of the pilot, where as the series, he comes off as a basic modern day CEO a-la Jeff Bezos.

I personally think it'd be cool if Vox behaved like fuckin' Rod Serling in The Twilight Zone, and spent a lot of his screen time directly addressing the audience – introducing certain characters, doing the intro voice-overs, explaining concepts and generally being the main go-to loredump guy. Plus you could do some funny gags with Valentino & Velvette having no idea who the fuck he's talking to – and maybe Alastor or Lucifer are the only other ones even vaguely aware of the fourth wall.
Or maybe he acts like the killers in that horror movie "Funny Games" and straight up pauses or rewinds certain events... like on a TV! Maybe that's his secret Overlord power and what makes him such a massive threat... instead of him just being a flailing retard that loses to Alastor in a glorified rap battle and does nothing else

The thing is Vox is supposed to keep up to date with modern trends, while Alastor is assumingly old school. That's one of the main reasons why their dynamics crashed. The problem is pretty much every character feels like they're from the 21st century, and that doesn't work for someone like Alastor who is very much supposed to be stuck in the time and doesn't like change. A more competent writer would actually be able to achieve this, and then Vox being so modern would feel like it's being done on purpose instead of a writing case of someone not knowing what the fuck they're doing.

It's never not gonna be weird to me how Alastor in the newgrounds people produced pilot was actual comically nightmare powerful radio gimmick guy that actually leaned into the gimmick of the timeframe he's referencing somewhat but then in show made by amazon nork sweatshop workers I am not paying to watch (FUCK YOU) he's like uhhh "fuck idunno deer horns maybe radio voice also he's asexual guys!".

This man speaks the truth. Helluva Bullshit parasiting Trashbin is the most likely outcome. At least the latter you can have some characters you may like, while would you really care if everyone died in Helluva? Perhaps Octavia (and for me, Stella), but honestly everyone other than the two of them and maybe Striker could just die and the show would improve.

Blame fanon. Alastor is pretty much written in response to how people hype him up as this S-tier badass that can one shot anyone, so now his character revolves on how he realizes that he's not the fearmonger he or fans think he is. When in reality, the fear of Alastor isn't what he can do, but his trustworthiness. His scary moments were used sparingly, moreso as a defense mechanism than just to show off. Otherwise, he's a welcoming individual who's all fun and games with occasional quips. I recalled Viv saying awhile back that Alastor is one of the more difficult characters to write for, because he's a contrast upon contrast. They need to give him enough asshole moments to show that he's not "le misunderstood good boi 🥺" but also need to make sure he has moments of pleasantness to make it understandable for Charlie to genuinely value his presence. I'm glad they didn't go with the vigilante route with him, but they went the opposite direction to where he's... a dickwad.

If the "Sinners can only be in Pride" means they can't travel the rings, I was thinking Vox might develop the ability to interact with other ring inhabitants through TV screens while his base body is technically still in Pride. Maybe he eventually can get the ability to engage with human and angel media through Earth and Heaven's televisions since Helluva Boss shows Hell has access to their cable.

I honestly don't think the cast will respect this, and the last season will have Hell on Earth and probably Charlie will be speaking to Satan and probably a bunch of fucking sinners in other rings, unless they develop a "Adam, but more awesome" who will bring all the rings down except pride.

If so he can start with Lust!

I'm already not liking this video and it hasn't even premiered yet. How many dollars you bet her "homophobic" takes are her reasonable criticisms, or better yet, her daring to question that Stolitz is an unforgivably toxic relationship that became one of the major reasons behind the show's decline in popularity and relevancy that even the most dedicated, strongest Stolitz soldiers are starting to agree upon?
Isn't it more "homophobic" to fetishize gay males and portray gay relationships as inherently abusive?

His scary moments were used sparingly, moreso as a defense mechanism than just to show off.
He also comes off as rather tryhard and putting on a front whenever he actively tries to be intimidating, as if desperately attempting to convince people he's really as badass as he sells himself.
Just look at how he feels the need to go all uber-demonic over something as small as threatening Hux or taking out some shark gangsters.

God i forgot how shit the hollywood/broadway people voices were in comparison to the newgrounds guys lmao. he doesn't even sound like an energetic old time radio announcer anymore.

EDIT: I also apparently forgot how many creepy visual gags the pilot did compared to the series when he was on screen.
God it's like night and day though with how the animation is energy wise. I'm not gonna stop having my schizo theory about the forced dumb stupid melodrama shit taking the forefront of both series doing so because it's cheaper to animate people sitting around being all angry and sad. Rewatching these clips I noticed like when he gets uncomfortably close to people for a brief moment his voice effect goes away.

Dude Imagine if vox knew he was in a TV Show and spent the entire time trying to figure out what was "on the other side", that'd actually be pretty interesting I think. You could even have a special where he breaks out into the "real world" and does his usual shenanigans. Have it styled like who framed Roger rabbit too with him animated on top of live action. That'd actually be interesting to watch.

I prefer the Alastor who actually could flex and where Charlie was actually afraid of him even though in "reality" she's almost certainly more powerful than he is.
