Okay, at first I was really disappointed by the Lilith reveal at the end of season 1. I found the idea awful that her opposition was only based on wanting to stay in Heaven, as it made it merely instrumental. Essentially, she's using her rejection of redemption as a means to remain in Heaven. This is strategic, not philosophical. She wouldn't be defending a worldview but protecting a privilege. This would have reduced her to a weak antithesis if she is going to be an antagonist, of course. But since all plans to kick her out were abandoned in the episode "Storyteller," Lilith could actually be the challenger we deserve. This can only happen, however, if the writers prioritize philosophical tension over family melodrama.
