You know the funny thing with Charlie is how useless she really is.

I mean she doesn't manages to convince heaven of redemption in season 1 (though since heaven has apparently no say about what happens with souls I'm retroactively not sure what that exactly that was about), she doesn't manages to defeat Adam and needs her dad instead, Pentious more or less redeems himself by commiting suicide without her help, she doesn't manages to convince the people that Vox is bad because the later just conveniently starts blowing random houses up instead, she doesn't helps Alastor, Emily does (whether or not that was a good idea in the first place), and Emily also starts the care beam stare song so Charlie didn't even bring the Overlords together.

Not even the show itself can pretend that Charlie is capable of archieving any of her goals on her own.

I've always thought it would have been an interesting idea to see different types of denominations represented in Heaven - Christianity itself is a religion with billions of followers all over Earth, and each country has its own seperate traditions and culture regarding that. For example, it would have been quite a neat idea for Emily and Sera, who are apparently "black-coded" to have some design elements taken from Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, as Ethiopia is one of the oldest Christian nations in the world.
I mean if you really want to add stuff from different cultures there is a lot to possibly choose from. Many cultures had some version of heaven or hell with ideas that could fit into a more christian version of heaven.

For example chinese folklore has a system where deceased people can become gods, which actually has some similarities with certain believes in abrahamistic believes, like the apocryphal third book of Enoch that mentions Enoch becoming the archangel Metatron.

I mostly mention that since it would make sense for heaven to have a similiar system to overlords in hell, but with high positions being specificially bestowed to certain individuals as official positions and not archieved trough machiavellian power struggles (or how exactly that works in hell).
I mean the series seems to have something like that with Adam and Able being archangels, but here it looks like it's mostly nepotism or something.
And I mean the entire government structure of heaven seems to just consist of a single leader that is out of her depth.

and appreciate (keyword appreciate) a genre like Electro-Swing
It's too samey.

Naturally, seeing as only Christians (and even then only certain denominations, according to most Christians) will ever see Heaven. So Hell would be mostly comprised of everyone else, primarily jeets and chinks going by pure numbers, with a strong contingent of jews and muslims.

I do want to bring out Charlie going "demon form". In the pilot, there's two instances of Charlie's horns coming out, and it appears to do during positive emotions:

In the song "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow":

And a picture of her and her ex-boyfriend:

In the show itself, well it seems like it comes out everytime from negative emotions:

No wonder no one takes Charlie seriously in Hell. She's just all for show but doesn't actually do anything with it. Also, I never realized how many times Charlie got angry. She gets more angry than Vaggie, who is supposedly the one that lashes out at everybody and has anger issues. Even when Charlie smiles, half of the time it looks forced. She is very much different than her pilot self and anyone who says otherwise is disillusioning themselves.

Also also, I just find it time that the only other time Charlie goes full demon (which is just that she grows a tail along with her usual angry horned face; very creative there) besides fighting Adam, is at her dad. You seriously don't want to use some of that energy towards Valentino or Vox, who you openly right in front of you abusing Angel Dust? I thought he was your friend, Charlie. Then again, you didn't really seem to care when he left the hotel at the end of the season finale to go back to Val so this is pretty on record I guess.

I think the reason for Charlie's character such high-drop from the pilot is largerly due to Viv ditching the original team of writers that helped to make the pilot beloved in the first place.

I mean, you could probably attribute a lot of bad writing of the A24/Amazon Hazbin to this, but it's really strange to me how Viv just ditched her friends that helped her in the first place the second she got the opportunity, it was a huge mistake on her end IMO.

Not just kind of ungrateful to the people that helped you to be in the spot you are today, but just illogical to replace parts of your team that no one complained about before. Even if you have more resources.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I wish shows brought back gay representation that was more funny and stereotypical like with Jasper in family guy. It's much better than whatever garbage viv's keeps making.

Angel Dust and Stolas are the most stereotypical gay men though - one is some drugged up porn actor, the other is exploitative sex addicted fag with gayest manner of speech out there

Electro swing? There was literally one song in that style, and it was left in the pilot, at best that fat cow of Vivienne is the biggest emo/screamo/scene queen fan of all times. Her entire core esthetic is based on the archetype of the "Hot Topic fat nerd mall emo kid that refuses to shower to not lose the shape of his fringe", one of her va is literally the singer of that dogshit band that is Fall Out Boy :story:
I never said that it was frequently used in the show, I just said that the writers thought that it's the greatest genre ever. Maybe they do like it, maybe they don't, but I mostly said that as an over-exaggeration of their music tastes. I doubt what they actually like is any better, but that's that.

I hatched a theory:

Have you ever wondered why there are so many gay people in Vivzepop's depiction of hell? So many in fact, that they do pride parades there? It's simple really...

While nobody knows what actually gets the residents of hell redeemed, we have one, one and only, who did get redeemed: It is Sir Pentious.

Notice, that he is clearly straight. And while Vivzepop does tell it safe to think of him as "Bisexual", this is simply not the case, as he only had romantic relathionship with a WOMAN!

Simply put: to be redeemed, you have to not only become good of heart, which he did by departing from sinful life and sacrificing his life for his friends, but also be STRAIGHT...

Bravo, Vivienne

A lot of the characters' "full forms" are disappointing. Charlie just gets a tail and Lucifer has his six wings. Three of the Sins are just giant forms of themselves with extra features.

Andrealphus becomes an ice dragon.

The only ones done right are Sera and, ironically, Stolas. Sera has that biblically accurate angel look and Stolas being a shadow owl monster invokes the dread you would expect from encountering a demon prince.

Why would they even have "true forms" anyways? It isn't like they're interacting with mortals who couldn't comprehend them or something.
It’s a lazy way to show that they’re super duper mad. It would be better if it’s like the scene in Hercules where Hades gets mad and wipes out a forest. If they do get mad, they wipe out an entire city block or at least the building they’re in, it establishes they’re volatile and dangerous when angered. Instead, all they establish is that all this is a big bluff, and nothing will come of it. In essence, the Seven Deadly Sins are a bunch of teenage girls that need attention, and will let everyone know it when they do.
