Agreed.

The "Nazis win WW2, but heroic resistance still determined to take them down" is a trope because very few people have a problem with declaring Nazis worthy of a bullet.... it's one of the few remaining groups you can cast as villains in your work and not get much hate mail when they get shot/stabbed/immolated.

There's really not another group so easy to root against these days, other than perhaps North Korea.

There has been an alternate timeline where the Confederates emerged victorious in the Civil War, but it lead to a stall situation in the World.

Taken from the GURPS Alternate Earths book (I know it's a RPG book). In this one there is a different balance of power, with the CSA and Britain/Commonwealth being one side and USA / German Empire the other. They made Atlanta the largest city on earth ("The Big Peach").

Making this a tv series is a great source of salt, in my opinion. I mean people were fine with The Man In The High Castle, where Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan occupied the USA, but I guess a setting where slavery is still a thing would the one show that makes SJWs, BLMs and whatever left-wing raise the banners.
a little late, but isnt this the map from the southern victory series? at least the america part? looks very similar.

There will be oodles or salt if this project ever gets off the ground. It's still currently in production as we speak, so a lot of things can happen to it.

I had someone unfollow me in a huff on Twitter because I said that while I wished they'd pick another subject since I think this particular alt-history is kind of overdone, that I thought it would be absolutely fine if Kevin Wilmott's Confederate States of America mockumentary was any indication.

What if the Central Powers won World War I?

The world could've been a much better place.

Hey, they made one of @Gym Leader Elesa's wet dreams into a TV show. Neat!

In all seriousness though, this is fucking stupid. How did we get to the point in Western society where a writer/artist etc. cannot portray characters who are ethnically or culturally different from themselves? It makes me wonder if these people would shit on films/books that are considered masterpieces and classics just because they didn't like the portrayal of a POC. Leave it to a bunch of whiny fucking PC halfwits to hear about a show with futuristic Confederate soldiers and not think that sounds awesome. Even if it's bad, I hope it's campy as shit.

So summed up, you want a show where ethnic minorities beat the shit out of "Evil white devils".

If they made the first one someone would definitely view that as anti-Muslim/Mexican. They should probably make it.

The third one is Jakub WE WUZ KANGS levels of comedy. I'd usually say they should make that, but I'm kind of afraid the nexus of woke black people might believe it's a documentary.

What I really like about the third one is that not even they can imagine a history where Africa develops technology without help from an outside force.

Also I like how everyone bitching about this is ignoring that the other two executive producers on the show are Nichelle Tramble Spellman who worked on The Good Wife and Malcolm Spellman who worked on Empire - both black.

Honestly, any actually southern victory would be because of the introduction of manumission to the south. Frederick Douglas warned the Union of if. That if the CSA frees it's slaves, then the Union would lose.

Honestly, I think a much better one would be Southern Victory or the one from GURPS, which I believe lacks slavery in the modern day CSA.

Sure, you can have terrible racists in the CSA, but like they say in a Deadlands sidebar: truly racists and not fair for their time racists are villains.

Probably already mentioned, but Lincoln wouldn't have freed the slaves if it meant ending the war early.

Additionally, I love how they're all bitching about the enslaved black man concept in modern day, when HBO already has the excellent Westworld where in the future, they have artificial humans who can get raped, killed, and suffer all sorts of horrible things before getting mindwiped and put right back in the grinder...
including Bernard, who is a black dude with a super-high ranking within the command structure of the park's hierarchy, and had no idea his entire life was a fabrication and he was Ford's personal puppet.
