Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

to the poeple who are fans of Halo did that one at least look cool or no?
The Warbond in my opinion was really good, the SMG is fun, the AR is good, Shotgun is shit sadly but that's just because shotguns in Helldivers is shit. The armor looks cool I just don't care to use them since the stealth bonuses don't interest me much. Was it worth 1.5k Super Credits? No, a lot of the normal Warbonds aren't even worth their price either to be honest but it was fine at the time.

The new Warhammer Bond looks really lame, the armor just looks really... Bland, flat, and kind of boring. Especially that Demo-Trooper armor, no pouches or anything to go with it? I understand not wanting to have the lasers be red because the Automatons or whatever but it's really disappointing that the lasgun shoots yellow lasers.

I know effectively nothing about Warhammer, except from seeing random pictures of it, and playing the old Xbox360 game for like 3 hours, and I will say, that if I wasn't told that this stuff was from WH40K. I'd have no earthly idea that they weren't just generic grunt armor that AH concocted out of whole-cloth.

It'd be like if they did a Star Wars Warbond and gave this dude's armor:

Like, I get that they're still pretending its a grounded, grunt-fantasy, but I think we need to stop lying to ourselves about that, especially after they gave us Doom Guy's armor. Oh, sorry, the "Fiend Destroyer" armor.

In terms of the Halo Warbond, I do think they lucked out that lore wise, The ODST do seem to sit at a similar level as the Helldivers, where they're special forces, but they aren't at Master Chief's level. But if we're going to do these crossovers, that niche may not exist, or be filled with unbelievably beige designs that aren't worth adapting, just to stick with the lore/aesthetic imo.

Also, now that I'm thinking about them, I'm going to share The ODST trailer again, cause it's sick.

I'll try making a bit of an effort post for those who have little knowledge of 40K.

The warbond is based on the KillTeam team of Kasrkins (more specifically sculpts that came out with a set in October 2022) semi-elite (game rules wise) veterans of the imperial guard more specifically Cadia before it blew up.

Both armor sets in the warbond are based on Cadians, Cadians themselves are the usual regular human soldiers you will usually see in art though nowadays they also use Kriegers sometimes it's the ones in gasmasks. As a whole Cadians are generic sci-fi grunt as that is what they are supposed to be, people say they are supposed to ape Starship Troopers soldiers I don't know if I agree fully but the I can see the helmet similarities.

The demo-trooper armor is an operative from that killteam set that uses the melta-charge/mine, you paint them however you want of course but if you were doing the default Kasrkin colors it would be green with brown camo splotches like the other set in the warbond, the dark-blue and black one they have is a cannon variant of armor that Cadian 122nd wear apparently also known as 'Kasr Kraf Jackals' I could copy paste a lexicanum article here but there's not really a reason. Point is they wanted a city fighter color pallet so they used that one. I attached the killteam promotional image from back during their release, a demo specialist painted in regular Kasrkin colors and a collage of 122nd as an example how their colors could have been altered to better fit HD2 as even canonical color pallets are often altered by the painter depending on their skill level and or preferences.

Now onto mostly personal opinions. I think the Kasrkin were inevitable, the warbond would have had Cadians no matter what those here who know GW know this, I just hoped that aside from the obligatory Cadian they would use some more obscure guard regiments for the other sets, even the currently overused Kriegers would have been appreciated. Obviously regiments like Elysians would fit in wonderfully as Elysians are drop troopers like the Halo's ODSTs are and fit thematically for what the helldivers are, especially since we have them in Darktide so modeling an armor set after them should not be difficult.

Weapons are boring, the bolt pistol was shown off killing basic terminids which really does not fill me with confidence. I had hoped for a hotshot lasgun, a lasgun pattern specifically favored by the Kasrkin it's the lasgun with a cord instead of a magazine that can be seen on the middle guy in the promo image I attached, the point of it is the backpack mounted battery allows them to shoot higher AP, higher powered shots from their lasguns without draining the regular sized batteries that most other lasgun patterns use without running out immediately. But no we get a regular lasgun. Melta is whatever, I'd have maybe liked a plasmagun better generic as it is but a close/mid range anti tank gun doesn't sound terrible either.

I haven't seen anything posted about what will be in the Super Credits Store so I can't comment on that.

Edit: forgot to add, as I said earlier the Kasrkin or Cadians in general were inevitable so I'm not surprised or disappointed that a Kasrkin armor set is in the warbond, and for what it is I think it looks fine.
