Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

Has anyone found a good use with the smoke grenades? I feel like they're there just as a trope because of course your military shooting games need smoke grenades. The only use I've heard is to obscure the automatons aim but is that really worth trading off the ability to easily destroy walkers and fabricators with explosive throwables?

Smoke will allow you to break contact with enemies if you get more than 10m separation with the smoke between you and them. They will sometimes will walk in a straight line along your last known bearing so you need to veer off at an angle after you get the 10m. Cooking off smoke grenades while using a terminal or waiting for extract will keep enemies further than 10m from alerting on or shooting anyone in the smoke cloud.

On defense missions with EMS mortar you can probably just ignore swaths of enemies if it is used. Another use case is the termincide control tower missions.

I really hope they give us stealthpacks.
There has been many close calls when Im running a Helldiver difficulty and there is just one guy left who is fighting against a jammer outpost and moving quietly to not get detected.

Oh Super Earth you always know when to hit me with the good stuff.

Anyone without a day job messed with the new weapons yet? The Quasar looks like it’s an amalgamation of of the Recoiless/EATS and a Spartan Laser that lets you keep a backpack slot while needing a charge and cooldown time.

it charges then shoots and explodes an ball shape aoe

I wish the enemies would have more audio tells for when they're about to shoot/attack (i.e. Darktide's audio cues). I can't tell you how many times I've gotten snuck up on by a spewer in the middle of a hectic battle on higher difficulties. Maybe I'm just a blind retard that should pay attention more.

I'm excited to try out the new machine gun, as an MG enjoyer, I'm proud to assume the mantle as the teams crowd controller.

On a related note I like to stealth complete objectives and of course some moron goes out of their way to shoot a passing patrol just to bring them to where I am.

Sidegrade to the Recoiless. Charge up to fire instead of a instant shot but can run while its "reloading" with unlimited ammo. Cool down is pretty quick. Great to snipe massive targets from a distance since you have basically unlimited ammo to plug away at them.

The upside and downside are pretty fair so its a pretty decent weapon to run with especially if you want to also bring a backpack.

Some guy on a difficulty 7 mission kept going on one man suicide runs against random shit on the map and whenever the other three of us went down he'd reinforce them on the penis explosion chamber he'd found himself in. Everyone lost their samples, my buddy lost the backpack he was using to reload my autocannon, and the third guy ragequit at his stupidity. At the extract I reinforced him in twice to shoot him in the goddamn face and he asked "Why?"

I do suicide runs with 500 km's all the time but i let the team know i'm gonna do it before i do it

Heavy MG is kinda poop. It doesn't do much better than existing MG-43 for less ammo and accuracy. For some reason there's no 3rd person targeting either, which might be a bug.
Pretty disappointed by this. Even though MG's aren't the best weapons to take, it's insanely fun to mow down hordes of shit with a big automatic gun.
It's got so little ammo, the damage didn't even seem that good and I couldn't notice any better penetration over the standard MG. Laser guns keep outclassing conventional ammo firearms and I'm not happy about it.

Stalwart with a supply pack is still a viable build for bug missions imo. Take the Lib Penetrator or Slugger shottie for the elites and call downs for the super heavies and you've got a pretty well rounded package

I've had more crash to desktops in the last 2 days than the previous 2 weeks combined. Game feels held together with baling wire and bubblegum at the moment.

I'm not sure there is much reason to use the recoiless rifle any more now that the quasar cannon exists. The only drawback is the charge up before the shot, but you have unlimited ammo without need for a backpack or lengthy reloads.

The MG needs more ammo and a larger mag. I've found it greatly effective using it prone from lookout points with recoil reducing gear, it saws through light and medium armour. The awful ammo capacity betrays this style of play though and the gun ain't suitable for much else.
