The airburst launcher has a nasty habit of fusing on nothing and blowing you up. I just had a game in which I only survived one of those explosions because I was wearing heavy explosive resistant armor. They really need to fix that thing to make it viable in any capacity.
Yeah it is kinda ass too. Had it blow me to bits on a leaf in Space Vietnam: Fog Version.

It also requires a backpack which hampers usefulness against bots. Got a kick out of the dev damage control in the discord 'They are totes different from the leaks guys!' (But they are actually totally the same). Doubt the mines would have been any better.

Also also, if you are getting bothered by shitters once you hit mission level 7+ it a lot smoother. Level 6 is hell though, no super samples so less people but nearly as many spawns as 7.

I'm too early and too distracted by call-ins from work to be hosting.
If you start one and have to leave mid-mission then the mission will continue for the guys who are still in and people can even join in to fill the gap. So if you're worried about dicking people over by having to answer a call that isn't an issue.

Interesting.
I'll try opening my destroyer then and seeing what happens.

Im so fucking tired of the devs buffering liberation progress. There are at this moment 20k people wasting their time on hellmire whos progress has remained at a stagnant >5% and dropping, while literally 690 people on Charbal 6 are inching more progress. This manual control of the numbers kills all immersion and willingness for me to play on anything but the most enjoyable planets, I didnt add to any progression the hours I spent on no visibility Erata, just wasted my time when I could have been playing anywhere else or anything else. I know I'm in the minority but the galactic war is what excited me about the game when I bought it, and the only thing that keeps me coming back after having unlocked everything I want. I dont mind the back and forth of liberation then defense then liberation then defense on the same planet, what bothers me is there is a nigger cooking the numbers, ensuring progress only occurs at a predetermined place and rate. I appreciate the idea that the galactic campaign is tied to the release of new content, but if the new content isnt ready that should not hold up the galactic war and it really feels like that last "defend 10 planets" was to buy them time. They gave us the kill 2bil bugs, an actual achievable community based challenge, the community rose to the occasion, what do we get in return? An impossible order only mathematically completable literally in the last 12 hours and every planet buffered. It seems now at least the automaton front is allowed to progress, assuming it continues bots will be pushed out of the Trigon and Ymir, perhaps even Andromeda, sectors in a day and a half. I understand that propaganda is a part of the satire, and I enjoy it quite a bit, but its not really super earth lying to me, its the people I'm buying an admittedly underpriced game from, and I would rather have no planet progression meter then one that is arbitrary and unmoving regardless of player participation.

After playing an operation using the cluster rocket I think I figured out the mechanism by which it teamkills people. I think it sees cover like walls as valid entities to trigger on. I was trying to fire a round at a rock in the distance that mechanoid infantry was moving past so that the cluster munitions would scatter into them but the knee high wall 20 feet away from me and 10 feet below the warhead triggered it and killed everyone but me at the extract.

Yes but did you get a video of it?

EDIT:
never mind, found one:

We should have done Chooche for the anti-tank mines. What a disaster.

I mean, I don't expect airburst to be anti-tank, but it ends up to be a funny and entertaining disaster. The developers said they would fix it in the coming week patch "finger-crossed", and there will be 24 weapons/stratagems would be tweaked (mentioned mostly buff) "another finger-crossed"

Anti-tank mine would be niche and useful in specific defense mission, but it could not kill bile titans (based on the data-mining video) is a big "no" to me

I don't think I was gonna use either lol. I leaned towards airburst at first, but now i'm gonna captian hindsight it up and say i didn't care either way and just want the medals.

You doubt democracy's ability to come up with even deadlier strategems involving subnuclear payload landmines?

New patch out. They nerfed all the good stuff, didn't fix anything of note, and buffed the bots.

I knew I should wait it out for the nerfs before buying a warbond and was right. Now there is nothing good in the newest one.
The adjuticator change makes it the most powerful AR on the field from what I'm reading.
An AR that does DMR damage.

reading these notes:
Looks like the laser cannon is getting a damage buff to counteract the reduction in heat and headshot damage.
That was the new hotness among streamers and looks like they approve of how it's used.

Also, gunships getting slight buff while spawn rate being reduced.
Good call there.
It's ultimately a nerf to incoming damage on maps where gunships are present.

  • APW-1 Anti-Material Rifle and MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun now trigger hitmarkers while scoped in.
I'll gladly take this.

I'm getting tired of their slavish obsession with making good things shit and making shit things mediocre with every patch. It's a fucking PvE game and they have seemingly decreed "no fun allowed". Some of their nerfs like reducing mag carry on the sickle just seem petty and pointless, the sickle already lacked stopping power and it's ammo cap and accuracy were it's only real advantages over anything else. Doubling the charge time on the quasar is blatant punishment for it becoming the defacto AT for a lot of streamerfags and normies. Their changes aren't being driven by gameplay quality, it's about stopping the "meta" gameplay.

I would agree with you if this were an MMO like WoW where it takes a long ass time to level a new class to play, but in THIS case...
Strong disagree.
Allowing metas to stabilize causes boring and formulaic gameplay.
I'm glad they keep playing 3-card monty.
It works that way in real war, too. Your enemy adapts to your tactics.

Doubling the charge time on the quasar
Vastly superior to having its damage reduced.

I regret to inform you the latest funny has been nerfed:
RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher

  • Airburst Rocket Launcher will no longer detonate when shot near stratagems (HMG turret, Sentries, Resupplies) and other Helldivers
  • Reduced proximity radius

I'm sure the enemy doesn't adapt by having your tech be nerfed by your leaders but instead by changing their tactics.

Well, I hope everyone has fun with the new meta, in which the base warbond's laser is creeping up on the breaker.

I'm stuck without games until mid-week because the damn bots sabotaged my cooler this weekend.
