This is the face of a man barely holding in calling his Discord Admins/Balance crew every slur in the book for being fucking retards. Full thread here: https://x.com/ShamsJorjani/status/1798301402382627214

First look at the Vehicle Customization:

Only question is who determines what Pelican-1 looks like.
Oh boy, new armor designation, wonder if it's Servo Assisted again.

There's an article out there if you Google from PlayStation I think it was. To summarize:

-carbine is good ergonomics for turning quickly at the cost of recoil
-triple barrel sawed off. Single or simultaneous mode
-booster gives stims power to increase sprint speed and add damage reduction to further be unkillable under the effect
-armor perk is new: Peak Physique. More melee damage and also better weapon handling/ergonomics. It also has bare sleeves with "randomly generated skin colors" so either we're gonna get variety or more likely some mystery meat shitskin spectrum like our ship crew.

I assume the pelican skin is based on who punches in evac.

Edit: based on the trailer it's like five skins. So white black and some browns/yellows between.

The new armor looks neat, they need to nail some weapon rebalancing in the accompanying patch though, and the new weapons need to not feel like shit.

I'm most interested in the jungle biome shown off in the trailer, hopefully that makes its way in with the update. A change of scenery is always appreciated.

Still very skeptical about anything being released not feeling undercooked after they fucked up the release of the most recent MO mission type after knowing how sick the player base is of unfinished or untested updates.

Community manager posting hints regarding size of next week's updates seems to be indicating a large scope, in comments he mentions that they are buffing a number of weapons, but the amount was not specified, I'm still worried they won't have play tested this and it will be broken on launch.

The throwing knife raises a few questions, from the trailer it looks like a high damage single shot in throwable form. This seems extremely inferior to the usefulness of a grenade unless theres some other benefits to it that aren't clear yet. Maybe a much higher ammo count than the usual 4?

If they're not retarded it will also improve your melee damage.

Changes and fixes in the dozens. I wonder if any will be that laundry list they have of known issues. And if they will be tested. I'm assuming most will be a reversion of some nerfs. Probably the Eruptor one since that one really stuck out to people, or maybe a damage boost since the shrapnel supposedly was an issue unless they found a way for it to work again.

>Super samples on diff6
Why the fuck? Is this just for babby ducks? People should have to fight for the super samples.

I can understand having super samples on level 6 as long as there's only one of them and they add a new kind of spot where they can spawn.
Two or three locations would be good. Cock rock is too easy to pinpoint. The amount should also vary based on mission type (40 min helldives get maybe three locations with 4 each, blitzes get two locations with 3 each, etc).

with the patrol fix super samples at their current difficulty really wouldnt be that bad, seems kinda unnecessary unless,
they're going to add another resource

shrapnel supposedly was an issue
I think it was always fine, at launch the weapon had drawbacks and was a bit finicky but it had the punch that made it worthwhile. With 5 rounds plus bolt rechamber between shots, it needed to be able to 1 tap all troopers in a patrol, its nerf plus the patrol changes made it unusable unless youre comfortable dying repeatedly. At this point the only thing that makes it even partially viable is that its a primary that can destroy fabricators. Considering the other options all being support weapons (most with their own drawbacks) or substantially closing the distance, it has a micro niche still, but as a soloplayer it just feels like im handicapping myself when taking it.

The cynic in me believes the introduction of more cosmetic skins for more assets heralds the arrival of more MTX way more gratuitous than what we've seen so far. They no doubt have some losses to recoup after the Sony fiasco. I anticipate they will all be available to buy with super credits at all times and the super store will instead act as your weekly discounts or whatever.

It's not perfect proof to set your worries aside, but a huge thing Pilestdt has been pushing for is more time actually playing and testing their own game. Because apparently the people over balance were just plugging in spreadsheet numbers

So it looks like patch is coming Thursday. So we'll know in just a few days whether this game recovers or drops into irrelevance until the Illuminate come out.
