Ignoring nerfs, the new enemies are terrible. The impaler was a massive mistake and I don't know why the fuck they included that hunk of fucking shit. Everyone hates being ragdolled but all the new enemies do just that. Complete AIDS. I think I'm starting to really hate this game now.

They saw all the complaints about the bots rag dolling people and said "Hey we need that to be a bigger part of the bug experience too!"

>release flame themed warbond
>nerf flame weapons and only provide a weak fire resistant armor

Truly genius guys. Christ they need to just fire that alexus faggot and any other part of the team who wants to cling to this nerfing philosophy. It's supposed to be a power trip game about squadding up with the bros and fighting aliens and robots, they had that feeling and they ruined it.

The games difficulty should come from juggling objectives while you fight enemies, the game forces you to stay in one spot while you do an activity and enemy aggression ramps up the longer you take. Some idiot on the dev team seems to think killing anything at all should be the challenge when that's absolute cancer for a horde shooter.

I love the rag doll shit but then again I have the best armor in the game from the store. (Best investment of credits I ever made) I assume that's a hell of a lot less frustrating when you don't take damage from near misses.

Honestly I'm not having problems with the difficulty but man they really need better guns.
I'm thinking of buying the laser weapon pack when I get enough credits.

The whole concept of forcing people to work together is retarded. Especially because one guy running out to aggro the enemies and accomplish objectives on the other side of the map makes tactical sense.

I demand we get that recon vehicle or APC that we saw in the data mining!

Is there any tell to which direction the Impalers are at? I was on a foggy rocky outcrop planet and two of those niggers dogged us for a while before we could find them.

Also I saw two guys using a arc tower to distract them so you could get out of their range. Might be a good reason to start breaking out the Arc armor.

I've been out of town and didn't see this until now but might as well post it for posterity
Fellow Helldivers,

I want to directly address the feedback you've raised about the Escalation of Freedom update. We’ve spent the last week listening to feedback, reflecting about the path ahead for Helldivers 2 and how we want to continue developing the game. In short, we didn’t hit our target with the latest update. Some things we just didn’t get right - and other more fundamental inconsistencies in our approach to game balance and game direction.

All of that is on us and we are going to own that. As many of you have pointed out, and we agree, what matters most now is action. Not talk.

To that end, here's what we intend to do in the upcoming updates.

Our aim within the next 60 days:
  • Continue to re-examine our approach to balance. Our intention is that balance should be fun, not “balanced” for the sake of balance.
  • Update how the fire damage mechanic works to tweak how the flamethrower serves as a close range support weapon. (A quick straight revert won’t work, as it would break other things)
  • Rework gameplay to prevent excessive ragdolling
  • Re-think our design approach to primary weapons and create a plan for making combat more engaging
  • Re-prioritize bug fixes so that the more immediate gameplay-impacting bugs are prioritized.
  • Improve game performance (frame rate is a focus)
  • Rework Chargers

Additionally, from a bigger picture perspective we will be:
  • Exploring creation of an opt-in beta-test environment to improve our testing processes and we consider this a high-priority.
  • Post regular player surveys to gather more insights and feedback from the community.
  • Improve our process for patch/release notes - providing more context and reasoning behind changes.
  • More blog posts and streams where we expand on these topics for those interested.
  • We also want to thank you for your patience. We're grateful that so many of you provided constructive feedback and suggestions on the latest update.

This sounds exactly like their cope over the eruptor nerf backlash. "We can't make things cool like the way before because bad things will happen." Undo those bad things, niggers.

Get rid of every single one of them then. A balanced game is not a fun game and remove that shitty anti cheat if you want better performance from the game, helps to let paying customers have an unmolested game.

They should really balance to make a weapon into an extreme. If they made the eruptor obliterate boss enemies and gave it a huge splash radius but have a ten second delay between each shot so it's horrible for anything else, you can't tell me you wouldn't try it out now and then even if you thought it was too slow.

A quick side note how do you guys think space Marines 2 will affect this game given it has a PVP and a PVE mode along with a campaign the ability to customize your guy and a bunch of weapons for you to use and stuff?
It'll peel people off for a while. The original's pvp died over time mainly due to lack of modes and that awful dreadnought dlc. I can't imagine it'll do any better this go around but I'm cautiously optimistic.

This time around there's an absurd amount of people that have refused to read a single 40K book but are still nonetheless obsessed with 40K lore because they watch countless hours of youtube essays on 40K. It will likely have a much stronger start, assuming they don't fuck with basic parts of the game, but will have a notable drop off after the first 2-3 months after it's no longer FOTM.

I heard they will continue support and content post launch. I think the necrons are coming up eventually

Apparently the game now has the problem of 'chaosdivers' deliberately teamkilling and losing samples to protest the update, seeing a bunch of people complaining about it. I can't even be upset, that's funny as shit.

I didn't realize that the devs are apparently based in EU? I was discussing these nerfs with a friend and mentioned that Vermintide 2's developer FatShit(Fat Shark?) also relentlessly and randomly nerfs weapons, playstyles and entire characters into oblivion in their grindy 4 player PVE Co-Op with zero competitive modes or pro events, so essentially for no reason other than to make you mad and/or not win. Seems like a strange way to run a fucking business, but who am I to tell the Danish or Swedes or whatever borka dorka euro trash how to sink their golden goose.

Given we already had the "re-examining our approach to balance" phase back in may and june, it feels like anything they say of the same nature going forward is pretty hollow.

Word has it that flamethrowers being good were a result of a bug? I'm still looking around for a source for that.
But even if that's the case they did a poor job of communicating that to the playerbase at large.

It's fascinating how they continue to fumble the bag over and over again.
