A "bug" that was in the game for months at that point that they just so happen to decide to "fix" before the release of their warbond centered around incendiary weaponry? What an absolute coincidence.
Yeah. I'm not buying it. Mainly because outside of this supposed "bug" its been fairly consistent that addressing bugs goes like this:
- Benefits the player?—Fix it immediately
- Is a detriment to the player?—We'll get to it eventually
From balance and spawns all the way to annihilators not even having to aim at you to shoot you, if it makes your life harder then it's not getting fixed anytime soon. IIRC we had armor just not working for a good 2 - 3 months out the gate.

Their current "known issues" list still lists several issues that have been a problem since the game launched.
  • Enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders and Eradicate missions.
  • Most weapons shoot below the crosshair when aiming down the sights.
  • Stratagem beam might attach itself to an enemy but it will deploy to its original location.
Those are just the ones I immediately recognize. They're still doing fixes to the social menu stuff as well months after launch; I remember being told that I had to un-private my Steam friends list to see them in-game when that's never been an issue for any other game that uses the Steam friends list. The total dedication to fucking up so consistently is impressive.
 
So is the game still good or what? Haven't been following it since the PSN account fiasco
 
Its amazing funny to me that NOW Sony is getting around for merchandise for this franchise right after the devs were able to squander most of the goodwill the game created at release.

r/helldivers2 was explicitly created to be a safespace from 'complaining' ever since the Railgun-nerf days, IIRC. No reason to go browse there except to get mad at bootlickers.
What's funny is, r/helldivers is still very soft on the game and stiffly moderated. Redditors are just so oversensitive that their thing getting even the most milquetoast of criticism is traumatizing to them and requires a new safe space be created.

We still have bile titan head hitboxes not existing half the time, a problem since launch, and they only got around to fixing teammates healing slowing every other player down after they removed the infinite grenade glitch which wasn't even that good since grenades are so limp. They ignored bugs you can't avoid which affect everyone in favor of bugs you had to go out of your way to trigger because it was useful. Their priorities are ten different kinds of screwed up.

It's amazing how quickly they went from having a heavily lauded game and their studio being declared as a shining example to now looking like retards that accidentally released a good game.
 
They nerfed the flamethrower AGAIN in the latest patch; you can't roast the charger's ass anymore, it takes 3 canisters and a shit-ton of stuns to burst it. I didn't even think that was possible! The fuck are they doing over in Sweden?
 
If they want to do something with the flamethrower, at least make it so it can cause terminids to panic and lose their focus.

Allegedly a bug and not a nerf.

Although one questions why they felt the need to be fucking around with the flamer at all, given it worked totally fine before and its fire effects arguably looked way better before.

I think people need to use teamwork more. I never see people use smoke and I get excellent results every time I use it.
It just straight up makes the enemy forget you exist.
Remember it's usually better to smoke the enemy than yourself.

Helldivers 2 just dosen't encourage or reward teamwork, and on a mechanical level it actually punishes it by making the game harder.
There is zero teamwork mechanics oputside of assisted reload which is barely ever used, and you'd only ever see teamwork make a return if a downed state was returned to helldivers if you go down to minor damage or enemies that actually required multiple people to take down.

The flamethrower used to be good even before the fire buffs way back when, it was a sleeper hit to be sure. But like all things, every weapon nerf was due to a bug making them more powerful.
Instead of fixing bugs, they nerfed the weapons and later fixed the bugs that made them overpowered, then leave the weapons nerfed. The flamethrower is just yet another victim of this pattern.
due to leaks, I actually think things will continue to get worse, as seeing a medical supply pack tells me they are about to split the resupply backpack into ammo and stim supply backback making it just worse in every possible way.

Why, enjoying a nice and cozy summer vacation. Which goes on for four months, because I guess Sweden only has three seasons over there.
