Fuck, I thought I had time to grind before the heavy stuff rolled in. This looks amazing though, love shooting me some hordes.

You would not believe how back we are

Holy Shit, Was finishing a bug campaign and about to get off when the alarms went off.
These squids are tough. Need to figure out how to attack em esp with those fuckin zombies.
I’m finding success with fast firing primary, pistol, and support. For red stratagems the 500 and 380 barrage have been going great.

The Purifier is a really good gun to use against them. Two full charge shots will kill Overseers and the AoE from the plasma burst takes out the hordes of chaff really efficiently. I've taken to bringing along the machine gun sentry because of the sheer amount of bodies that get sent at you in Illuminate missions as well, I'm averaging like 300 kills minimum in my games.

Plasma Punisher and Stalwart are pretty solid, HMC emplacement is nice for ripping apart any xenos dumb enough to cross its path and pop shields fairly well; at least for me playing on difficulty 8

Anti-material rifle for the jetpack and gravity hammer niggers, 1 shot to the head or the jetpack, also shoot the blue light of the shield walkers once the shield is down.
Jump pack is great for getting over obstacles and traversing the new cities faster. It is fantastic for getting in at any point or out at any point.
Gatling gun sentry is good at taking out all the chaff while you focus on the actual enemies, and eagle strafing run is good when you train them down a long road.
Purifier kills the jetpack dudes in 2 charged shots.
Haven't figured out how to shoot down their dropships, but for the missions where you have to destroy the grounded dropships, I've found EATs to disable the shield + the grenade pistol to be a good combo. Sometimes I can get the strafing run to kill them, sometimes it doesn't even take out the shield.

Just did an Illuminate operation (difficulty 8 cause I haven't played in a while). They're pretty much a middle ground between the bugs and bots, as expected. Don't see anti-tanks being great against them outside of Evacuate High Value Assets Missions, where they can shoot down their ships.

Tried the railgun and purifier and they both suck against them. The AMR is pretty solid tho. Eagle 500KG and Orbital Laser can take out their bases easily enough.

And of course, the new city environments are breath of fresh air compared to having go through empty wastelands. Great update.

Anything plasma will cook the staff and jetpack guys. The laser cannon (Beam, not single shot) is great for stripping shields and mowing hordes, and a single thermite grenade will take out anything shielded once the shields are down. Fire (and probably gas) also works well for hordes so consider running a napalm or gas stratagem along with an orbital laser since those can easily burn through shielded targets.

It's difficult to make headway without a full squad but it's fun. Haven't found a warthog yet. Enjoying the cityscape though.

Excited to try a gas drone/flamer run with gas grenades. I'm finding the gas doesn't distract them like it does the bugs. With the bugs, they pretty much veer off from you for a decent time; the voteless kinda amble around for 5-10 seconds then head right for you again.

As far as I can tell, the place to aim for on the tripods is the actuating arms that hold the legs onto the body. One quasar/EAT shot will take it out, or several seconds of laser cannon/2/3 charged railgun, AMR, or autocannon rounds. The machine gun, HMG, and crossbow/purifier (take your pick they are functionally almost identical) melt through the ultra elites squids with ease. Arc thrower and Blitzer are as good as always for crowds and medium enemies alike.

I actually found that it is strangely viable to rush the tripods if you are already too close. Their electric attack only has about a 120 degree fov that it can shoot out of, and you can walk under them much faster than they can turn around.

Gas and incendiary grenades drop voteless exceptionally well. I personally use gas grenades paired with spamming gas strikes now that gas grenades have been buffed so they can do demolition. Gas strikes specifically are comparable to precision strikes on direct hits, they can destroy the parked ships and other similar objectives like rogue research facilities. Otherwise I found machine gun sentries to be great low-cooldown helpers that mow down crowds of voteless and melt through squids alike.

I am very excited for when these city maps get integrated into the other factions. It will be cool to see how the different factions utilize the urban environments. They did such a good job with the urban generation that it seems like it will probably be harder to pick apart the samey setpieces that makes them up than it is the open world environments, though that may just be my familiarity with the open world map generation speaking.
