Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

Finally got the game after pulling some shit to get past the region locks. It's really fun and I like it, I especially like how it appears that all the weapons are meant to be viable and not just straight up upgrades of one another but I haven't really peered that hard into the balance of the game.
Fuck fleshmobs.
What I don't get is the galactic war thing, mainly because you can pull four/five star missions on Suicide Mission and still somehow contribute 0.00001% to liberating a planet, what the hell is that shit?

The number they show you isn't entirely accurate but regardless a single player will never be able to capture a planet, it's a community effort. Multiply that liberation percent by 50,000 concurrent helldivers all most likely doing a full operation and you will see that planets are usually captured in about 2 days if they are focused. It also depends on the resistance the game master sets for that planet.

Breaker shotgun - more like Buck (Bug) Breaker shotgun.
Grenade your George Droyds. Feel Bugs breaking beneath you. Hear the lamentations of the Squiggers.

Another useful tip - the grenade launcher is useful for making tactical defensive swastika trenches. They provide 360 degree cover.

It's entirely meaningless. Liberation percentage gain is calculated off of The number of completed missions within the last half hour.Everything about the galactic campaign is intentionally obscured and unexplained to the player. The galactic campaign is ran by a DM. Just go where you want to go and shoot what you want to shoot. Do not try to play towards the galactic campaign, you have almost no influence over it

The arbitrary nature of the liberation percentage also plays into the game's motif of propaganda. It's a factor intended to motivate the armed forces of Super Earth, a common goal to strive for, when it's shown straight to your face just how insignificant your efforts are in the wider context. Any tangible progress being made, or any outcomes displayed - the higher ups could just be lying. The galactic campaign could be made up for all we know, we're just taking orders.

I may be giving the devs too much credit on this, however.

Turning cross play back off. Keep running into retarded children trying to sample hunt on diff 10. by that I mean going solo across the map and calling out bunkers when no one is even in the same zip code. And then just standing there waiting call a team mate in when they die so they have to hump it to a different continent to get their shit back all so they could get two common samples. And then they die like 6 times

It's obscured because GM Joel doesn't exist and players never had any actual impact on the galactic campaign. That was all a massive lie. The devs have a plan. The players keep doing things that go against the plan and instead of respecting player agency, these stupid devs just cross their arms and reset any progress bars that go too quick for their liking. Players realizing this killed the game harder than any controversy since. Player actions mean nothing.

The exploding hellpod perk is underrated in my opinion.
I agree. It used to be good when it was a guaranteed kill because it lit people on fire and knocked them over so they couldn't do anything. Nowadays it's only really good for knocking people into pits or into enemies.

It is not, however, good against enemies.
