The teasers have been relating to ODST specifically which makes sense considering that the Helldivers name is probably heavily inspired by the ODST Helljumpers; we're probably going to get at least an M7S SMG, maybe an MA5 variant AR, would be cool to see the high fire rate MA5B from Halo 1 make an appearance. Can't wait for the collab since if we do get an M7S or M6C/SOCOM would be the first suppressed guns in the game, which is crazy considering that a suppressed Liberator has been in the game files for months now.
I don't expect Spartan gear. We might get that helmet that one chick wore for a tiny bit, but otherwise it's gonna be regular odst armor and halo guns. If they could replace the pod with an ODST version and mod the dropship to look like a pelican id be happy. The big thing that's gonna suck is that the weapons likely won't have mods or attachments if killzone is any indication.

Devs already expressed that they're open to the idea of ODSTs but Spartans are off the table, which makes complete sense since Helldivers aren't super soldiers, just special ops (in more ways than one). Getting Dare's Recon helmet would be cool, I'd actually like to see more Mjolnir helmets since from my knowledge ODST armor has some cross compatibility with them. If not that it would be nice to just have different helmets with varying patterns, colors, and attachments, kinda like the B-01 helmet for the Helldivers.

It would be a cool idea, but considering that Hellpods break into the ground and pop the payload out it would take a lot of time and effort to make an ODST pod. There's a mod that does this, actually, but it looks and acts strange since it has to accommodate turrets and the like. The Pelican getting a skin is a bit more feasible since they're basically the same thing and they'd just have to change the attachment point for vehicles to the back instead of the bottom. Might cause sizing issues though since I assume the Halo Pelican is way bigger than the Helldivers one.

I don't know much about Killzone and if the games ever featured an attachment system anywhere like the multiplayer, but Halo has had some attachment stuff, specifically in Halo 5's Warzone mode where you can put muzzle brakes, bayonets, and scopes on some UNSC guns. If we do get some attachments I'm expecting it to purely be for the M7 since the ODST's got red dots, lasers, and suppressors on theirs. It would be a major missed opportunity if they didn't allow some kind of customization with that. Thinking about it now, I'm guessing they're gonna avoid MA5's for the most part since none of them have traditional sights and instead have digital sights that link up with the user's HUD. Best candidate would be the MA5K since it vaguely has iron sights. If we are gonna get a rifle, my bet would be on the Battle Rifle since it's an iconic weapon and actually has a scope on it.

Some of the Cutting Edge helmets reminds me a lot of the Gungnir helmet variant from Reach, though definitely not identical (EX-00 Prototype X and EX-03 Prototype 3). Basically the whole hermetically sealed helmet that presumably is only able to see via the camera lenses on it.

I think there are actually a decent amount of Halo armors that could fit with the Helldiver ascetic. I don't think they should use the Mjolnir helmets, but something like the EOD, Commando variant from Reach, or maybe the EVA variant.

Regarding ODST permutations, while Dare's recon helmet is the obvious one, there are other variants to the ODST basic helmet, most are pretty minimal, the best I'd say was Romeo's, which was a sniper variant. Pic below, Romeo is on the left. I believe its Buck on the right with the standard ODST helmet.

Honestly, this is just making me want to go and replay ODST.

Dutch: As The Good Book says, payback's a bitch.
Mickey: I don't think it actually says that, Dutch.
Dutch: I'm paraphrasin', ya heathen!

The suppressed liberator has been sitting in the files for months because they can't get stealth to work

They can't get most things to work in this fucking game.
To give them a little credit, I think it’s just the nature of using a game engine that’s out of support since like 2019. I’m impressed they have anything working but grateful this isn’t just more Unreal slop. The game has such a unique feel that just isn’t present in any other game in recent memory.

The Halo ODST crossover was just announced:

Firepower

MA5C Assault Rifle

An iconic rifle; the definition of reliable and having taken down countless aliens bent on wiping out humanity, it is time to turn its sights on enemies of MANAGED DEMOCRACY. It comes equipped with the convenient ammo counter and a built-in compass – let it guide you to victory.

M6C/SOCOM Pistol

They say keep your friends close and your sidearm closer. Well, we say that. The standard-issue ODST sidearm is your silent ally in the field -equipped with a built-in laser sight, flashlight, and, for the first time in Helldivers 2, a suppressor to support stealth gameplay. Because sometimes the best way to enforce PEACE is quietly…

M90A Shotgun

This powerful shotgun carries a kick and has a handy flashlight mounted on it so you can see the fear in your enemies’ eyes before you teach them a valuable lesson about LIBERTY.

M7S SMG

Silent and deadly, this SMG is the model ODST’s primary weapon. With caseless ammo and a non-removable suppressor; this weapon is ready to spread FREEDOM to every corner of the galaxy.

Armor

A-9 Helljumper Armor Set

Step into the armored boots of a legendary Lance Corporal who served the ODST with immense bravery and courage under fire. Passive boost – Feet First.

A-35 Recon Armor Set

Sleeker and stealthier than the A-9 Armor, this set is made to move and groove, with a helmet modeled after an iconic intelligence officer’s headgear. Passive boost – Feet First.

Feet First passive

  • Make less noise from movement
  • Range when finding points of interest increased by 30%
  • Immune to leg injuries

Capes

Honored Heirloom

This cape, emblazoned with the ODST logo, is passed down to a Jumper’s bravest child in the event of their untimely demise.

Eye of the Clandestine

Some soldiers fight on the front line, and some from the shadows. Wrap yourself in secrecy with this sleek, subtle cape, and slip away from the light.

You can also honor the Helljumpers with ODST-themed player cards, a new player title, and the Mean Green vehicle pattern for your hellpod, shuttle, exosuit, and FRV.

1500 super credits and limited time only I'm sure. Really tempted to just buy the credits instead of spending the next could days grinding that out

Considering I've seen a lot of bug missions go around a thousand kills, that means six million missions total would complete this one pretty handily, but even nine million should cross the threshold. With about forty thousand active players typically on relevant planets and missions that basically means full teams of four helldivers have to complete six hundred missions each, which usually in my experience takes on average 35 minutes, not counting Blitz, Extermination, or High Value Asset Evacuation missions. This is also not factoring purposely lingering in repeated reinforcement waves to farm kills. At that rate, it'll take about two weeks and half a day to accumulate six billion kills.
I'm just saying I think for the Bugocaust to work we're gonna need more ovens.
I didn't check my math very hard I just wanted to hurry out the Cookie Monster joke.

That feeling when a 2 minute trailer published by Sony for a game developed by an "indie" developer understands Halo more than the dedicated studio who had 15 years to do something with the franchise.

I'll never not take the opportunity to talk about how much I hate 343 studios and have zero confidence in the soycucks at the new "Halo Studios". Just take the AM hate monologue and replace humanity with 343 for me.

Woah... Super Earth needs me? Okay, I'll do it. I'm going to dive for you, Super Earth. I got your back, Super Earth.
