I could swear that Helldive and Super Helldive used to feel this way, with the same proportion of chaff, medium and heavy enemies as lower difficulties but lots more enemies overall. I don't know when it changed, or why.
I learned from development notes on Diablo 3 that the developers learned scaling difficulty does not mean scaling quantity, health, and damage proportionally. The easiest way to programatically feign difficulty is to increase health by 100% and damage by 10% and numbers by 0%. Then it feels "more difficult" because it takes longer. Scaling damage or quantity requires much more careful balancing even if it'd be more satisfying. This is why in Starcraft there's a really careful balance in how well 2 Zerglings vs. 1 Marine vs. 1 Zealot perform.

The Helldivers 2 community manager is a fat cow who sucks tranny dick x/archive

Instead of choosing to purge the community and the subhuman reddit jannies running the subreddit, she decided to just stand by and do nothing besides giving her "thoughts and prayer" to the doxed player. She has mod privileges on the subreddit.

It must be nice having a community willing to declare the fattest of fatwas on anyone who looks at you funny.

Get it? Fattest of fatwas. Because she's fat.

I want hundreds of bugs that all die to one hit to anything, supplemented by tougher enemies. Instead they can all pretty easily kill you and all take multiple shots.
Weird how Space Marine 2 has more or less the same problem. It should crank up the hell out of the enemy counts but the most you get is four majoris at any given point and three extremis and with how busted your abilities get the more you rank up that's just barely any satisfying challenge, the only reason you'd get downed is because any one of those enemies end up deleting your health really quickly rather than you getting actually swarmed and taken down.
The latter happens just not as much as I wanted it to.

My biggest issue with helldivers is the enemy difficulty vs. enemy quantity. I want hundreds of bugs that all die to one hit to anything, supplemented by tougher enemies. Instead they can all pretty easily kill you and all take multiple shots. It's probably a game engine limitation but I'd enjoy it more if there was more going on. Instead there's so few enemies it feels like a PvE game where the enemies are just humans in different colors.
Its what the devs want from the game. They want a hards as nails Vietnam style sim where you barely survive and extract from missions.

They want higher difficulties to require 1 guy on mob control, 1 guy on support items, 1 guy on anti heavy equipment. Instead the game plays that each person needs to solo.

What you are saying is what the game felt like early on. They faked large mob sizes with constant ad spawns. But the ads were less bullshit back then. Then they got mad because it became a power fantasy game and its what attracted the initial audience. Then they nerfed shit to get their vision back. But then lost a huge chunk of player population who were there for power fantasy. So they gave power fantasy back and have been slow boiling the players back into their vision of the game.

Also Arrowhead are basically a hopped up indie studio who have no fucking idea what they are doing. They are the dog who caught the car. They also are throttled by what a PS5 is capable of which doesnt help.

Also my problem. Just play any of the Earth Defense Force games. They're 10x more fun and you won't get killed by a child who can afford to spend 70 hours a week playing and shares the same race as the bug enemies (Chinese).

Doesn’t help that they aped Dark Souls and you’re rolling around like a retard and fragile despite being clunky and heavy.

I loved the concept of the game, but I think the playerbase is the biggest obstacle. On top of having to accommodate all hardware. They have to put up with constant bitching about how each player wants the game to be (its too hard etc). I hate when difficulty scales health because it stops being a fun game and turns into a string of cheesing enemies.

Difficulty should scale enemies differently, like for the bugs, make bigger swarms/more ambushes from holes. For the bots, make them co-ordinate more. Maybe use cover more and rather than just run towards you shooting, make them wait for backup behind cover or something.

Currently the difficulty just makes the guns feel like peashooters and you have to rely on pickups and stratagems more just to wipe enemies. It also makes the players pick the same guns/loadouts just so they can actually dent the enemy.

I haven't played in a long time, there were buggy missions that put me completely off, I remember this escort/defense mission where they just threw down so many enemies that you couldn't get the people from door to door because there would always be enemies dropping and coming around corners. (the map was so small and the runts had to run from edge to edge to live)

The reddit drama just shows how trash the playerbase has become

Glazers are mad at the recent challenge issued for the devs to beat a hive world with bad weapons for charity, calling it bullying. So naturally, their response is to dox the issuer and try to get him fired from his job.

Apart from the fact this is a really fucking retarded thing to do and makes all glazers look bad, they're literally doing a "leave the multi million dollar company alone!" I hope this only hurts them in the long run.
Update from the challenge guy.

Not only was he banned from the horse sanctuary he worked at because of glazers threatening them, but he got fired from his job too.

Redditors actually ruined this dude's life because he asked Arrowhead to play their own game.
Assuming this is true (it's reddit, could very well be fake and gay), the OP really shouldn't have shared a PM whining about the hate he was getting. That's blood in the water confirming he's a soft, easy target.
That being said, going after someone's volunteer work and job over a game where you kill aliens and robots on exoplanets is absolute subhuman behavior that deserves every bit of scorn you can muster.

Happened on a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company's platform btw

the gamer community is just as bad as the AI art hate rage.
literally what the fuck. overkill.

if someone has power they just like to use it, including bad parents beating their kids.
I swear any form of power is always abused. no one wants to be good.

no one wants to make sense, no one wants to be good, they want power and to fist people with it.
fuck sake.

people used to want to be smart to flex, now there is an unholy abundance of DUMB RETARD BITCH flex.

If your workplace gets bombarded with hundreds of emails saying you're a Nazi and threatening to bomb/shoot up the place your corpo will absolutely fire you just to make the headache go away.

It's a common ANTIFA terror tactic they use to unperson/debank people they don't like.
its honestly much more sad then that if you ask me, In another life I was close with someone who worked in HR for a decent sized "known" company

they told me that during hiring they will sometimes get calls from "friends"/acquaintances that have somehow learned the person was applying just to say and I quote
"you should not hire/employ this person they are, insert random negative adjective here lazy, prone to anger issues, bad communicator or really any other generic negative that is hard to disprove"

you dont have to get to over the top with it, its the straightforwardness of it that I guess has impact, anyway what the HR person told me was that if a call like that comes in its more or less a death notice especially if its still in the hiring process because as they told me "we are LOOKING for reasons to say no".

Those HR people live and die on the smallest things, multiple people calling to say they have a problem with employee X? They will just assume that multiple people would not make this up for no reason and think they are doing their job correctly by removing the "problem" and that is the end of their depth of thought on the issue.

During me2s height they told me one story of a guy getting fired because an ex of his called and said years ago he had made her feel uncomfortable in their relationship by yelling at her when they broke up or something like that and the guy was out THE SAME DAY.

Going to keep this random redditor in my prayers, by the Grace of God alone, we all go

This guy should go insane and take it out in some kind of violent sexual spree at the Reddit offices, lmao. Be in San Francisco or whatever and be like "ALRIGHT! NIGGER TIME!~" and proceed to kidnap Spez, tie him up, and rape him right in the middle of the street while blowing a whistle over and over. Now that may sound immature and stupid, but it's really the only way that Reddit staff will finally get tired of troons. If you buck break a bunch of tech-business men, they will remember that anal bleed when letting dudes like Bardfin run the site.

2 Zerglings vs. 1 Marine vs. 1 Zealot perform.
1 zelot wins that fight against both, I think it would be 3 ling 2 rines to 1 zelot but that depends on if it gets its charge off and if your allowed to micro, BTW your earlier post about anonymity as a human right was very well written and something I agree with to my core.|

to your messages context though, did anyone else play The Division? Im not sure if any other modern game was a guilty of the sin your describing (scale up boss health, scale down user dps) I remeber trying to do one of the highest level missions in that game with my buddy and we spend, no joke 4 hours on a single boss just trying to whittle down the health bar. Its the worst kind of design cause it can take an otherwise great game and just make it a slog.

>"Man the balance on some of these guns fucking sucks. There's no way the devs are actually playtesting this."
>"Erm, just lower the difficulty chud."
>"I... didn't say the game was too hard? I'm just saying that some strats and guns feel like the devs don't even play their own game."

>"I've already called your work and told them you're a neo-nazi rapist. Enjoy the soup kitchen, Whinediver Child."
Probably late and gay but dear fucking god you describe my experience EXACTLY when I had any sort of criticism of the balance on the Reddit. These nigger faggots cannot fathom that difficult but fair and difficult and bullshit are two very different things.

True, but there is a time and a place for both.

The crux of this matter is that Helldivers 2 was intended to be the latter.

Btw this is what the clowns on here enable anytime they doxxx innocent people on the internet. Get some media literacy and take a long, hard look in the mirror chucklefucks.

it also only has 3 people as opposed to the standard 4, and the class locking system made it a gigantic humiliation ritual to wait 10 minutes loading in to a game only to be told you have to go back to the base or take your level 1 role through a match and be deadweight

its so obvious they rushed out multiplayer co-op right at the very end, which is a massive shame
