This implies there is any significant player agency at all ( there isn't). Planetary wins or losses are entirely up to them, exclusivly and that was always the plan. The only reason the helldivers wiped the map in the first few months was that more people bought the game than anticipated and could outweigh arrowheads thumb pressed to the scale. Numbers have since been tweaked and the game is fully under their management with all player agency on the campaign map being illusory.
This has been my hunch all along.
Some of those "goal" numbers are so fucking huge that there is no way people are completing them in reality.
Especially when sometimes the goal is met less than 1 hour before the major order expires.
"collect 2 billion x sample"
"cremate 6 million bots in 5 days"
the numbers just dont add up.
Im pretty sure sometimes theyve "let" players contribute to the goal and in those instances theyve been woefully unmet.
I dont remember what major order it was but it didnt pass 20ish% even when i thought "oh just a few million, instead of hundreds of millions? oh this will go fast"

Isn't some of it probably multipliers? Or was that found not to be the case? I thought someone had reason to think that different enemies gave a different amount of "kills", Or was it still not enough?

I used to think that multipliers were the case, we will never know the truth.
Well, until the game is completely dead and its major orders are replaced by randomly generated missions or some shit in the far future,

Exo warbond coming out in a week. Hopefully they get buffed when the update drops, playing with cardboard exos is less than fun.

Genuinely this war bond might be the first im going to deliberately not purchase it, not because its meh/ lackluster but because i disgusted by the model Arrowhead tend to follow (create problem sell the solution).

Could anyone explain how campaigns in the original game functioned? The most I remember is that apparently, it's automatically done by what effectively amounts to being an ingame director, as opposed to a staff member playing DM.

I'm trying to figure out what niche the Bullet Storm fills. Its a dispoable machine gun? Is it a faster and less barrel drift Heavy Machine to make up for being single use?

Not even for that but in the perspective of maxigun... Buletstorm its just a big fucking "WHY?"

Stalwart - Should be primary but oh well its a nice primary substitute if you rocking xbow or erruptor
MG - literally the vanilla MG
HMG - trading some of the vanilla flavor to more punch
Maxigun - i think the concept was to provide long sustained fire trough chokes but the execution was a bit shit
...
Bulletstorm - Ehh , why ?

It's going to shoot in a way that's slightly different from the other guns that only very autistic people would care about, while also having no functional customization options. It's gonna be for people who don't want to grind for certain accessories for other guns but want the exact same performance. Goddamn, this shit reminds me of fucking Planetside 2's weapons.

Feel like they could've used this opportunity to make an Exo customization update but now it's pretty much confirmed that it's never going to happen.
I don't see it that way. Exo customization would basically amount to swapping out the arms, these new mechs just have different arm attachments. If mech customization ever rolls out, the warbond could be updated to include those instead of two whole mechs.

Why can’t i just have a mech with 2 heavy pen miniguns?
Need more dakka
