Here comes Niko, a game about some non-binary kid running away from his parents. - Made to you buy the same guys who made a Hat in Time.

This looks like the tranny knock off of Wind Waker and that castrated boy is as legally close to Toon Link as they could get away with. The fuck is it with child molestors being obsessed with gamecube nostalgia anyways?
Stockholm syndrome, the gamecube was a very weak Nintendo system and sold less than the n64 and had very few worthwhile titles. I am in no way saying that Mario Kart Double Dash, Donkey Konga, or Twilight Princess turned them trans, but it could certainly be heavily implied that repeat exposure normalized such atrocities in their head.

This clam with the same name from a kid's game from decades ago would kick this little faggot kid's ass to the curb. images - 2023-01-09T100914.404.jpeg

These specific groomers were likely actually children during the gamecubes lifespan, which ties their autism tinted nostalgia in with it forever. Doesnt help the gamecube/ps2/xbox era is about to be in vogue once ps1 graphics indie devs burn the last embers of that trend.

You raise a good point about the ps1-esque fad dying out, but I honestly believe that ps2-grade presentation is well beyond the ability of even the most dedicated tranny programmer.

Some of the later gen ps2 titles from larger studios, certainly. No tranny indie team composed of a 'lesbian' "couple" and their 5 cats is gonna make a spiritual MGS successor. Some of the earlier vidya/cartoonish platformers and mid budget to lower budget titles? You can get whole asset packs with that level of lower fidelity compared to today. Do I think most of the gameplay in these attempts at emulating the past will be half as good as the contemporary titles? No, but the style can be pretty similar. Most of these projects won't go for realism but more along the line of this thread's subject.

Anodyne 2 is sort-of PS2 and it was literally made by a troon and his mate. It's ostensibly supposed to be PS1/N64 era but the higher poly-count, modern-ish lighting and half the game being a big reference to the GBA era muddies things a bit...
There's also "Nowhere, MI" which is a spiritual successor to Crypt Worlds* and it's made by a single dude and a few musicians. Not much to say other than it's cool and the warm intentionally low-bitrate sounds make me feel at home.

*One of the first troon PS1 homages. Actually quite good but a lot of autogyne tropes blatantly stick out now that I'm aware of them.

Nowhere MI is supposed to be more of a mid 90's chatworld MMO replication rather than PS2.

The OP forgot to include the bottled messages. These are supposed to justify why Niko ran away from home, but all they do is raise some disturbing implications between Sara and Niko's relationship.
So, it's "I ran away from home and was raised by an pack of hairdressers"? Plus, that kid is coming off as an entitled piece of shit, in a way

So Sara (whoever that is, never going to play the game) is just a groomer? Niko sounds like a petty child who is sad that being trans is considered mental illness by normal people.

Anodyne 2 has Certified Retrograde AGP Power. Also known as CRAP. You can usually detect a CRAP game if it follows the criteria below:
A) Is it indie?
B) Is it female protagonist only?
C) Are lesbians prominently featured?

The further down the check list you go the more likely you are to get CRAP.

Mfw itchio recommends me another 9001 lesbian witch visual novels on the front page.

The funny part about Anodyne 2 is that the epic robo moms actually turn out to be horrible and controlling. Too realistic?
It's strange that such a niche trait is so widespread in fictional characters but oh wait you're not supposed to think about it and just jerk off. It does double duty as pandering and spank material for losers.

This is why I refuse to play Signalis. If you see an indie game with any of the above odds are it's CRAP.

Something new to note about Niko, one of those companies that prints limited batches of games for indie publishers is about to start selling a physical release of the game for Switch.

Linked is
the sales page for the full collectors edition which just has way too much junk. For some reason someone has foot the bill for 1500 of these to be made.

The regular release, with just the game + manual, a sticker and trading cards has 4000 copies supposedly available.

Even considering the relatively low amount available, I don't see this selling out, especially not the 1500 collectors editions that cost 85$ a pop. There's a certain amount of dumbasses that will buy in in attempt to flip on ebay but I don't think that will sell it out. The chance to win a switch oled might change that, but I still doubt it. I don't know what the devs have to pay in to get these releases to market but I don't know how much they'll end up profiting.
