These devs huffed their own farts every step of the way and then kissd the ring when Don Keighley gave them an offer they couldn't refuse. I'm sure they felt stuck because if you said no he'd probably resent you and could cut you out of opporunities, but this is hilarious so I don't care.
 
3v3 is just such an odd choice. One of the appeals of big teams in shooters is no having to over stress about your ability. Once you go below 5 people per team you have no option buy to sweat and be competitive or risk fucking others over. It just sounds frustrating if you get out numbered and have to constantly wait for your team in huge empty maps. It's too many to be pure skill based and to few for relaxed fun. I get apex was squad of 3 but in that you atleast had 19 other squad with different set ups to fight.

it's good to know that nobody else has stolen the idea i've had for a big online game yet, or at least in a way that makes it popular. this looks like some weird cross between dota and fortnite which is completely indistinguishable from any other hero shooter we've been subjected to for the past decade now.

Attestation (essentially what "Secure Boot" and "TPM 2.0" amount to) is what ruined custom ROMs on Android (originally just financial apps cared about it, but now shit like Facebook and Twitter are starting to insist on it too). Sure, you can still run whatever kernel and OS you like on your Android device, but unless it's running the officially blessed OEM image and kernel, your banking/financial apps, official comms apps, and eventually even stuff like Uber/Lyft and similar "important" apps (for a lot of people) won't run because the "security" isn't adequately vouched for by a "trusted" party.

Not that any of this bullshit makes your device (or that garbage software) any "safer" of course -- it just means they can't make their own shit secure and they're terrified your unblessed kernel or OS might fuck with them instead.

I'll be damned if I let this shit take over a PC just for a fucking game of all things. It's not like enabling attestation to satisfy anti-cheat code requirements has actually done anything to stop game hacks anyway. Idiots.

shit, that's why my banking app doesn't run on my phone? it's one of the few apps i would want on my phone, but at least i can still access it through the website in a browser. pointless.

Also what the fuck is "highguard" even supposed to mean, it sounds like either a description of a boxing style or the guys that stand around in a palace next to kings. Neither of which sounds like it would be appealing to the target demographic of good goy fat faggot reddit blobs.

I'm kinda surprised people did in the first place. All of these kinds of shows are gonna inherently be full of industry bullshit, backroom deals, theatrics, favoritism, etc. Dunno why people thought that would be different just because jorff kingley is the showrunner this time. I'd trust Kaze Emanuar's F3 more than any official industry show. Fuck, I'd trust an end-of-year roundup from someone like Civvie or Mandalore more than an official industry show, and I consider them almost toeing the line of being "the industry" themselves.
