I remember playing it when it launched on Xbox. The game was fun! But confusing, directionless, and aimless. Felt like I was playing a dream game, or a game in the background of a show. The characters were pretty decent but nothing crazy.
Sounds a lot like Evolve, wtf.
I played the shit out of that, I was probably just a young kid 1v4ing as a monster… I had a really, really good win ratio. The human players were completely dog shit because no one used microphones lol.

I guess we now know why someone in charge who pushes a vision is so important.
People might be competent at doing their specific job, but that does not mean they are good at having full creative control over a project.
RIP Vince Zampella, at least he didn’t have to witness this abomination

That goes without saying, everyone expected something big to drop instead of this turd. Invoking the name of "Titanfall" certainly didn't fucking help, Titanfall fans were already thoroughly raped by EA. When fans hear "Titanfall", they expect a cool shooter with interesting campaign and dynamic multiplayer, like, I dunno... Titanfall was. Instead they're getting Apex'd again.
I'd be mad too.
This is why this particular shit irked me so much and why I’m actively rooting for the studio’s demise. I wouldn’t give a shit otherwise, but the way with which they invoked those IPs is so obviously calculated and slimy. They know that the moment gamers see “from the makers of titanfall 2 and apex legends” it will instantly catch the attention of their monkey brain, they know most people would initially not notice it’s not actually Respawn/EA. They know the fanboys have been begging for a new TF game. This Jew wording is just cheeky enough to get their hopes up.

I do find it funny how "Concord" basically became a slur for this type of safe corpo slop shooter. Lest you forget industry got another one in the chamber:

add in that people mindfucked themselves into thinking HL3 was imminent and instead they get diet fortnite. jeff saying shit like "from a beloved studio" and "will change the industry forever" really didn't help either, either he's retarded and actually thought this game was a masterpiece or he had a personal vendetta against this game or someone working on it and wanted to murder it.
This is the same Geoff known as "Dorito Pope," right? As in the host of the Video Game Awards who allowed himself to be filmed surrounded on all sides by giant Doritos and Mountain Dew props?

How on earth anyone is conjuring tales of "oh he's trying to wreck this game by promoting it" when he's a known shill of that caliber?

Chrono Trigger is over 30 years old and worked fine out of the box and had 20 different endings.

What gives? I should have games 100x that by
Yeah but 90's programmers weren't incompetent shitters. Most skilled programmers are either absorbed by the MIC or went farming or work as mechanic/electrician because how much jeetshit they have to clean up.

Also LLMs basically cut off the intake of software engineers as literally no-one will hire you if they can ask someone from the bowels of calcutta's durgasoft classes to use clause opus to crank out some ungodly abomination that barely works for a fraction of the price.

Its baffling because this is what he chose to shill, at such a big stage? Doritos pope will sell anything with tears in his eyes for the right price but highguard is an independent studio and it beat out stuff like ace combat, control 2 megaman and tombraider for the closing spot. Maybe they just saved a lot of apex money but apperatetly they originally just planned to shadowdrop it, so why make such a big change that would probably cost an assload.
The idea he tried to sabotage it is dumb and I assume being made in jest but I can totally believe the idea of someone pulling out last minute and needing a replacement announcement. It's just hard to imagine people having such faith in this.

People who believe that the game would be saved better without Geoff's showcase are absolute retards. Most of them are journalists, but I do see some other retards in the internet parroting those points.

In fact Geoff's exposure helped them to see the problems hard and clear now, having numerous negative feedback. Were it shadow dropped and played by 1000+ people, the negative feedback of ass character designs and incompatible 3v3 can easily be dismissed as normie noise.

Don't be misguided by relatively high launch playercount
As a general rule I always say wait til at least the first weekend after launch has passed before trying to make any sense of the playercount data, and a month to be able to state confidently what kind of future the game has.

That being said there's no harm in speculating: I estimate it'll hit 100k again over the weekend, maybe 150k, and that will be the all-time peak. A month from now it'll be 10k or less 24-hour peak.
Don't forget Fairgames (also by Sony. Looks like they're going for the full hat trick at this rate).
That shit is getting cancelled, especially after Marathon flops. It's been 3 years since the game was revealed and we haven't even seen a gameplay trailer.

I tried highguard yesterday.

There is something massively fucked up about the game's engine.

I have a 9800x3d and a 5070ti. The fps numbers I was getting were in the 100+ range. But everything looked blurry no matter what settings I changed, and I was getting a lot of dropped frames and interp issues (e.g. teleporting around). I don't really care about the fps number as much as "moving mouse from one point to another must feel smooth" and it does not with this game.

My guess is that the reason it's 3v3 is that they have massive performance issues with the engine and were trying to hide it.

You're far more generous than I'm willing to be, I predict 2 weeks until at least 80% drop and no recovery going forward.

"Yeah, I do control the eye of sauron, decided to burn this particular slop to cinders, and manifest a concord for lols. What are you going to do about it?".
Because he unironically praised high (over) guard (watch)?

Jokes on them, I haven't played a new game since Titanfall 1.

Developers and publishers don't want you to know this but you can just not play games, they legally cannot make you play them. The human body can go pretty much indefinitely without video games. I have successfully ignored hundreds, possibly thousands of games at this point. They keep trying to get me to consume their slopaganda and demoralize me by destroying things I enjoy but I just keep retardmaxing. I've been doing this since they fucked up Halo and COD and they can't do anything about it.

He endorsed highguard because he genuinely thought it was gonna be a fortnite killer or some equally retarded shit.
Also highguard is made up of words that are synonimous of overwatch.

Oh. I mean, right before the part you quoted I said "I imagine him saying" because it's a silly hypothetical.

Even if somehow it actually was the case he was destroying highguard for lols he couldn't just come out and say that. He'd need to lie about his opinion of it and unless you've got a neuralink handy you can't really know what anyone "genuinely thougjt".

Try maximizing post-processing. Apparently reducing it actually lowers the resolution in the engine or something like that.
