Hit by Youtube's AdBlocker detection. Help needed.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
damn... i was trying to watch the latest jim's video about ralph he uploaded to poast, wasn't working, tried downloading it, nothing. had one tab open on youtube at the time.
now i went back, no youtube tabs, video is playing like normal.
using firefox.
also, i play video games when watching videos on rumble and youtube and this is how it works: video and audio get desync more and more on both pages, so i have to pause and play. but now watching a video on rumble with no youtube tabs and nothing, video working like normal, no need to pause and play.
it was youtube all along...
other stuff i saw: some of the videos i wanted to see on youtube get this pause on video only for like 3 secs, making it unbearable to watch. this is someting people have been saying for like 2 weeks now, maybe more.
btw this started happening like 2 months ago maybe.

The last few days I absolutely noticed youtube running like shit in chrome, and it taking up a lot of CPU power. I assumed it was just chrome being shit, so I switched back to brave and it was fine. I'm surprised the actual reason was youtube being mad about adblock, what cocksuckers

It's AdBlock Plus causing the problem, not Youtube. Get rid of that shit and install uBlock Origin instead. It's vastly superior anyway and doesn't include AdBlock Plus' "whitelisted ads" bullshit.
And more importantly, the UBO guys are on top of YouTube's bullshit and usually update within hours of new fuckery from Jewgle.

Yep, PCGamer confirmed that YouTube is intentionally throttling PCs that are running adblock on their site.

article
I had been getting very pissed off at YouTube's constant buffering recently, especially because I couldn't find out what was causing it. It's what compelled me to look into using Invidious and FreeTube. Now, I don't even use the main YT site. Good job, Google!

When the fuck will these faggots be held accountable for any of this insidious bullshit?

ETA: I use uBlock Origin and I had found that this was happening with me. My internet connection and PC certainly weren't the issue, I was able to rule that out. I'm very certain it was this gay shit making it impossible to watch anything.

According to the developer who produces uBlock Origin, this is a function of AdBlock's shit broken code. I have to say, I've never seen any slowness with Mozilla/uBlock Origin/piHole

As soon as I saw the article specify Adblock, I had a feeling this would be the real issue. Adblock is fucking garbage and has always been a resource hog.

I'm pretty sure at some point it also started giving annoying pop-ups as part of the extension, although I might be getting mixed up with AVG anti-virus, which also got turned into worthless bloatware after it was bought out by cunts.

ETA: Fuck YouTube still. TAD.

Pretty sure this is the issue. Even almost a decade ago, adblock was a slow piece of shit. IIRC, it still loads that ads then removes them afterwards, instead of preventing them from loading. So of course shit is going to slow down when its bloated codebase is still being used.

I only realized this fucking yesterday. Magic actions was just a momentary placebo, and YT kept running like absolute garbage with a literal 11 second 240p video being unable to buffer its first 2 seconds and nearly freezing the tab, using up a third of my CPU, GPU and over 1GB of RAM according to the task manager and that's with basically every element of the site disabled. Now 4k60 hours-long documentaries barely crack 100MB and my PC's fans are completely quiet. Everything loads and buffers instantly, even the gigantic playlists. Fuck Jewgle.

Leave it to fucking inbredditors, X-pats, and other social media midwits to start drama over an issue that was noticed three fucking days ago and was figured to be an issue with the engine itself.
Also, if you use Adblock (Plus), fuck you.

Noticed it too so I took it off and am sticking with privacy badger and ublock the problem still I can see the spots in the video lists where the ads were, some rows are 4 some aee 5 anyone else have that?

Never use adblock, its pure shit. Use ublock origin.

I have never had any issues, or the pop up for adblockers.

Freetube is a Win and Linux app that lets you use youtube with no ads, sponserblock built in if you want it, and you can follow channels without signing in.

If you prefer a browser, I use librewolf, and a standard firefox set up. Both with ublock origin, never had any issues.

If you are using brave, turn off braves adblocking, and use ublock.

Also, I never sign into youtube, because I am not worthless cattle. If you would like to follow channels without signing in, you can use something like feedbro, it intergrates into your browser and can be used to follow channels.

Signing in is a huge mistake, stop giving them anything.

If any of this sounds difficult, then suffer like the cattle you are. Either shape up and take control of your own internet usage, or be a slave like the rest of the idiots.

I noticed YouTube pages are intentionally slowed down when using an Adblocker. Just seems that YouTube is so desperate for people to buy premium that they intentionally made their own website unusable for the "crime" of using adblocker.
my work computer had an older ADblock and it slowed down youtube like crazy. had to remove it and install ad-block orgion and it works fine now.

fucking youtube man.

"edit" i notice that my Graphic Card is working over time when using chrome when i have youtube open. so even when my videos are not blocked, they still fuck with the site. asshole.

Can you give us a clue of how to go about this? I did Google it, but Google appears to have done away with the 'export as rss' feature.
I've tried adding single subscriptions thus:

but nothing I've added appears to work so far.

I just went to the youtubers main page, and "Find Feeds in current tab". Sometimes it doesn't put the name in, just leaves "RSS" or something, you can change it to whatever you want. Just sometimes it doesn't always pick up the name, but it has the right channel.

I finally got around to giving Freetube a go and it's great IMO, as long as you're aware of its limitations. The interface is super-clean, you can watch videos without ads, SponsorBlock is built-in (although is disabled by default), you can download videos with a click of a button, there's plenty of customisation options, and you can import your current subscriptions if you want to.

You can't sign into an account, so you can't leave comments, you can't import playlists via a CSV file, and I've not seen any video offer an option above 1080p/60FPS, even if the same video on YouTube is 4K/60FPS, but if you're OK with those limitations, definitely give it a try.

Ok looked into it a bit more apparently it isn't adblockers at all but youtube. The issue can snowball hard enough to bluescreen apparently.

Thanks. Figured it out now. I was overcomplicating it, looking for something that explicitly says 'rss'. All you need to do is link to the main page.

What a cool thing that is. Really grateful for the tip. I fucking loathe Google and their intrusive data mining practices.
