What does everyone think of the new "7 sins" DLC coming out? Was pretty excited myself at the prospect but seems like they're just going to be gimmicky weapons and costumes unlocked by escalation missions.

Was really hoping some bonus missions would have been released instead, since escalations are utter fuckin shite.

It doesn't seem to be much content for the price of it, probably want to either wait until it gets discounted, or pass on them entirely.

I’m playing 3 on my Xbox after playing 1 & 2 on Steam, so I can’t carry stuff over anyway. The game servers kept crapping out on me though.

I made it through the first 2 missions of H3, and I have to say... doing the murder mystery was probably one of the coolest things I’ve done in this series. It really worked out great. And I’m pretty sure that if you ask Alexa Carlisle for the file as a reward the animation she uses to unlock the safe is actually accurate. I only found 2 of the 4 numbers but those 2 matched up.

also, the writing and the cutscenes so far are great. The series plot started slow in the first game, but now I feel like it’s basically turning into the Bourne Identity with how fast everything’s flying.
The murder mystery in the Dartmoor level was legitimately awesome. It might be my favourite mission in the "World of Assassination" trilogy, right up there with Club 27.

I finished the game just last week on PS5, and flaws aside I must say I loved it. A fitting end to the trilogy and I won't be upset if its the last Hitman game ever.

I'm glad I waited to get Hitman 3 to get all the extras for 1 and 2's Patient Zero and other storylines.

I'm still pissed half the shit is locked behind a pay wall, though

I was excited for more Hitman content but once I found out they were just escalations I lost all interest in it. I thought they’d be doing missions like the Patient Zero campaign and Landslide in Sapienza, but if it’s just shit I can play through in an afternoon with no replay value I think I’ll just save my money.

I never thought I would kill someone by tossing a starfish at them.

Its been years since I played the original 1 and 2 but the AI is wonky and once they are alerted the entire map is hunting you. Has anyone played the original game recently?

A little factoid I love about Blood Money is that "Apocalypse" (the music you hear during tense moments ingame) started out as level music for a helicopter game, also worked on by Jesper Kyd (03:00):
For reference:

I really want to play Blood Money again, now. Too bad the older Hitman games don't really appear to have anything approaching a modding community.

Yeah same, surely they can't be too much work to produce. They already have the level assets made, just re-arrange some NPCs and change the time of day/lighting to give the stage a new appearance.

There are somethings I actually miss from the 2016 version. First I loved the Red and Black Map background. It really sets the tone for the game, the menus, sounds the neck makes when you break it are all better. The only part I didn’t miss was the endless close quarters takedowns. Also a little thing I noticed in 3 is that no longer can you knock people out right after shooting their leg.

It's so primitive that modern PCs can't run it without some finagling. Disguises play a much smaller role. They didn't expect the stealth aspect to get so big.

Contracts is a faithful recreation. They also took the two worst levels (Boris assassination) and turned them into a fun challenge.

Just finished playing through Blood Money for the umpteenth time. Requiem is still the worst finale to a videogame of all time. That level is absolute cancer and I will fight anyone on that point.

The one saving grace is that someone isolated this masterpiece from the first level:

Imo Silent Assassin is the only Hitman game to really nail the finale. Redemption at Gontranno is sick, you can do it stealthily and it still feels epic and climatic, you actually get a use for all the weapons you've collected throughout the game, and the score is great.

Honestly the new Hitman trilogy is probably THE best Hitman game (as in, if you pick up 3 and have all the other content) and I just wish there was an ingame jukebox to play every track from across the series or customise the UI to Hitman 1 or 2.

They removed the absolute BULLSHIT of requiring you complete master mode Bangkok/Colorado to unlock every weapon, they gave things a gentle nudge back in favour of the player and the only item they removed was the free win electrical phone (which tbh I think will make an appearence again at the very end of Hitman 3's run)

Blood Money and Contracts are great but... they just make me wish those levels could be remade in the Hitman 2016 engine. Bar accident kills being free kills, I miss that.

The new Hitman trilogy is the best gameplay wishe, definitely.

I still miss the style of the 2 through Blood Money though.
