cant view first link without an account is there an archive?

Also that second link explains why I wasnt getting the suit. They never even advertised the suit the first or second time on the Hitman twitter and I don't follow IoI. So stupid.

Good work 47, you've made it inside.

For the sake of realism we should be allowed female disguises now
what's funny is he's came back and is now trying to damage control by writing a big response to the callout thread about him on hitman forum, but the first thing he's done on twitter since twitchcon ended is try to flirt with a random ethot: https://x.com/Combatglue/status/1808203869580640700

can this guy get any more indian?

I just started playing this franchise (World of Assassination) for the first time in my life. I knew for a long time I'd probably like it, it has a great reputation, but I never bothered to get around to it. Didn't help that Hitman 3 had that episodic faggotry.

I'm ambivalent about Professional vs Master difficulty. Having it explicitly point out (even to the point of marking it on your map) the objectives is AIDS, but having only one save is cancer.

So far I beat Paris and Sapienza once. I'm struggling to not look up the mission stories I didn't beat.

Super Bunnyhop suggested that these devs should do a James Bond game. In a way I think they've already done exactly that, just without things like the seduction/car chases/casino scene type stuff you see in those movies, but the glamorous high culture settings and general vibe of it already nails that.

great to see you get into it, you can actually go into the options and disable a lot of the handholding so that you can stay on professional with the unlimited saves. i even turn off the challenge descriptions and try to figure out what to do based off the title and the image

it was hitman 1 that was episodic, hitman 3 was the egs shit and h2 was the season pass shit

Prepare yourself to spend at least an hour on each Hitman 2 map because they're all fucking huge and confusing to navigate except the suburbs one.

Make sure to check out Freelancer mode at some point also, and have fun 47.

the longest it took me on a single map was sgail, which took me roughly 2 hours to do when i first played it. obviously this number has gone down, but there was so much stuff there i was looking at and trying to get done.

I still get lost there often, also Mumbai.

Sgail is infuriating, its the only map I eventually had to look up a guide how to SASO because it seemed impossible. Sure enough even the guide took a very long convoluted route and had to do some advanced trickery bordering on exploits to move the AI guards away from the target so a falling chandelier would only hit her.

I dislike how they got rid of accident kills not counting for anything like in Blood Money. You could kill as many people as you liked as long as they were all "accidents".

Accidents and poison bodies don't count against your SA ranking but you can't kill non-targets. That said, sedative poison or accident KOs can be done in the open at no cost. Though it seems like they break this rule every other patch. Like I don't know if the rake KO or banana peel count as accidents or not rn. The sedative prox mine you get from the sloth deadly sin escalation is still very op though.

Sedative in general is op. Taking the tranq gun, sedative syringe and lethal syringe is enough to beat most elusives very easily for me though it feels too tryardy. Just sedate their whole escort then prick them with lethal and gtfo.

In Blood Money accident kills didn't affect SA rating no matter who died. You had free reign to slaughter the entire map if you could just lure every npc to a railing and push them over. It was a lot of fun, I would go for high kill count SA a lot.

Wasn't abusing accidents the trick to pulling off SA in Death of a Showman (tutorial level) in Blood Money?

I swear I did it once where I got the ending slide to say "Silent Assassin" when I was like 14 or 15 way back in the day but don't remember how at all now lol

There was a few weird things you needed to do to SA that level IIRC, accident killing a group of people sitting on a bed at the end of the level was one. There were parts where you were intended to be seen for tutorial purposes like showing the human shield mechanic. I don't think this level's SA counted for anything in the game though because of this, you weren't intended to SA it and doing so required some awkward fuckery at parts.

Colorado really pisses me off.
Bangkok was really, really good (really hard, but satisfying to solve, I did the microphone kill, set the tuk tuk kill up but it didn't go off properly).
Marrakech is a cool idea for a setting and story but it's kind of spoiled by being way too simple and the action all loaded into two boring areas.
Sapienza I need to replay, I ruined it for myself playing on Professional, looked like it had cool content but I played through it with save scumming and the kills I wound up getting funneled towards weren't satisfying. The cave base was really cool of a concept, really hard (how the fuck would you do it on Master?).
Paris is great.

I wish there was a historical version of this. I was always captured by the idea of social stealth in Assassin's Creed, which was never developed at all.

Bring a lockpick or automatic silenced pistol to deal with a single locked door you will encounter.

Start in ICA safe house, go out back on to the roof, climb across the tiny ledge in to kitchen, run passed the chefs when they all stop looking, out in to the side courtyard and across the way to the observatory (beware the camera). The door is locked but there's an open window literally right beside it. Once inside, get the lab keycard from the desk in the main room, then get to the second floor, go out to the rear balcony and climb the pipe to the roof. Make your way across the roof to the little square balcony now visible, I believe the door here is locked so your lockpick or auto pistol is needed . Go inside and there will be a small storage room nearby with a model wooden ship sitting on a table in it. Break it. Inside you will find "virus prototype" which you can just throw anywhere near Francesca at any point for an immediate, silent accident kill. She will come in to the office adjoining the aforementioned balcony quite often so there's your opportunity.

Now backtrack across the roof to the observatory again, climb down the pipe and shoot the power box on the observatory tower. Caruso will then come to inspect the observatory, shoot the "chandelier" above the control stations inside JUST before he reaches them, accident kill. You can do this safely from the 2nd floor. It requires some timing so quicksave if you can.

Then go down all the stairs (still in the observatory) and in to the lab. Turn right, avoid the single guard there and climb down the pipe to the bottom level. From here you can stealth towards the seaplane, but go passed it and shimmy around the rock and get closer to the virus all while hugging the right side of the area from your persepctive. You'll reach a small, raised but well covered rocky platform, and just beyond it is some cover from where you can shoot a stalactite that is directly over the virus, destroying it. Hop in the plane and gtfo
.

Yes I've played this level too much.

Colorado blows, but on the bright side you are now about to play Hokkaido!

Also a few useful things that arent obvious:

Fully automatic pistols can shoot open locks whereas semi auto ones can't. The ICA silenced F/A pistol is your best friend.

You can use dropped weapons to make a guard abandon their post briefly, they will pick up stray weapons and bring them to a safe place. Put the weapon on the ground nearby and cause a noise beside it.

Sedated bodies won't affect your silent assassin ranking if found, it seems everyone will believe they simply fainted or fell asleep.

Targets that have died by lethal poison will count as accidents and their bodies being found won't affect rating. Using the poison syringe is a very fast and subtle action that is hard for npcs to see, its very easy to gtfo out of dodge before anyone notices what happened. This is OP as fuck when combined with sedatives or stunning mechanics (flash phone)

There's a setting in the options menu that displays an icon beside the map telling you if you are still within the win conditions of a silent assassin ranking
