Hogwarts Legacy is shaping to be the franchise’s ultimate video game realization, and fans worldwide look forward to the release. The game is less than a month away and is already a massive success on Steam.

The popular PC platform is home to titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Fifa 23. Despite these big games, Hogwarts Legacy is currently at the top spot on Steam’s best-selling games.

This list does not include free-to-play games like CS: GO and Apex Legends. When considering games that need to be purchased, Hogwarts Legacy has pulled ahead of several prevalent games.

While the game is set to release on February 10, 2023, fans can also pre-order the game’s deluxe edition for early access. The early access period begins on February 7, giving deluxe edition owners a three-day head start. Hogwarts Legacy is also available on the Epic Games Store, with a similar early access period.

Hogwarts Legacy promises a unique experience for Harry Potter enthusiasts. The franchise has not seen a major game release for many years, but Hogwarts Legacy aims to change that with a fresh AAA release.

Fans can take on the role of their custom character as they explore the Harry Potter universe. The game includes a vast open world to explore and skills like spells and potion crafting.

PlayStation owners can also enjoy exclusive content that will not be available elsewhere for a whole year. This includes the Hunted Hogsmeade Shop, which comes with the Shopkeeper’s Cosmic set, an extra dungeon, and more.

2023 is packed with exciting releases, and Avalanche Software’s Harry Potter game will be just one of the many exhilarating games this year.

The Steam platform has also seen considerable growth in 2023. It recently saw over 32 million concurrent users, and Hogwarts Legacy appears to have captured a significant chunk of this audience.

They're already putting shit up like 'Villain Protagonist' and 'Capitalism' and 'Genocide Simulator'.
All those are excellent tags that would definitely encourage me to buy a game. They should put tags like 'Transgender', 'Black Protagonist', 'Drag Queen Story Hour' or 'Communism' to discourage people from buying it.
Just checked and lol, their tags don't even show up

You can't wish for something that's never existed. Throughout the entire history of humanity what you want is simply impossible, it exists in the same realm as wanting a Unicorn or Cold Fusion. It just is not physically possible, there are laws of nature that you would need to break.
There is some Star Trek interactive thing out there where you can kick Q in the balls. How can you say there has never been a good Star Trek game?

Kicking an entity that's proven to be able to warp time and space itself is a futile exercise. He can fake being in pain just like in the TV show.

You only get to kick him in the balls because he lets you. He wants you to kick him in the balls and you played right into his hands.

Voyager is great so long as you view it through the lens of a female Captain slowly going insane as she desperately tries to get her crew home. Janeway genocides aliens, fucks with time, breaks every directive rule, endangers her crew, and does other dumb shit... but she's crazy determined, and I like that.

I'll never forgive them for fucking up the Borg lore. The Borg don't need a fucking queen, they are not ants, they are IT cyborgs that form a single networked mind (or a local area network mind where connectivity is limited).
I did like 7 of 9's Borg implants though, if you know what I mean.

Actually, that was the 2nd TNG movie "First Contact" that added the Borg Queen, voyager didn't have the borg queen originally until after the movie was made.

for everyone thinking the previous HP games were universally bad, play the first 3 on PC, they were fucking great with whole castle exploration, a shit ton of collectibles, etc, the return to this format is what is getting a lot of people outside the hp moms excited. Hell even I am and I only watched the movies when they released, still played those 3 first games a lot when a kid though.
If they don't fuck it up it'll genuinely be a very cool exploration game, almost a metroidvania.

I like the Harry Potter IP (yes, I have read other books). This seems to be the game I've always wanted from the franchise. The troon seething is just icing on the cake.
That's fine, that's not outrage buying, you're actually interested in playing the game. I'm talking about "I hate Harry Potter and would never play but I'll still throw away 60 bucks and 240 more for my friends to trigger the troons!"

Wow, it says right in the comments on the product that it can't be run any more.

Sucks.

I played the original Gold Box ones when they came out.

That end dungeon for Pool of Radiance sucked.
*winces at the mention of that damn dungeon....*

I carried a party from Radiance to Azure Bonds to Silver Blades. Missed out on Pools of Darkness, though I heard that one was a hot mess.

I haven't cared about Harry Potter since middle school but i'm excited about this game. When I first saw the trailer on a Nintendo Direct, I was really surprised at how pretty the graphics were and how diverse the game content was. I would love an open world to dick around in just like when i play The Sims 3 and Elder Scrolls. Of course, I pirate all of my video games but I am still looking forward to it's retail release.

You know gaming is dying when the top selling game is a movie franchise tie-in game for a movie series that ended a decade ago.

These movies are still being made and a new one was released last year. They're called "Fantastic Beasts" now because it's not about the Harry Potter characters, but the overall "wizarding world". Hogwarts is still involved.

Was never a fan of Harry Potter. Don't care if other people are. The game does seem to look good graphically, but most modern games can at least manage to look good. It's the other aspects that usually end up lacking.

I think it's being made by Avalanche which is the developer that made that Mad Max game back in 2016. Which was a good game. It's a lot like the Arkham games in a way. So maybe it won't suck. I think they also made those open world Lord of The Ring games.

The game is a no brainer, I can't believe anyone even had not thought of of it during the movie release. Regardless of it's quality people have been itching for something resembling living as a wizard at hogwarts. It will be incredibly popular, who knows how the game is though?

It's in book six, when he's about to become an adult, that he's more proactive and more aware of his actions and the consequences of it.
Not even then. Sectumsempra, Malfoy...

And that's precisely my gripe with late teenage Harry. He develops BPD where his rage and anger immediately turn into regret and sadness. Rowling never allowed him to actually have a badass moment again after the uber-Patronus he casts in PoA.
His wand clash with Voldy in the graveyard? A bug/fluke.
His incident at the Ministry? Saved by his bodyguard entourage.
Chasing Snape with furious intent following Dumbledore's death? Snape was deliberately handling him with kid gloves until Harry pisses him off and proceeds to show Harry just how shit a wizard he always was.
His final duel with Crazy V? His mother ensured his victory...

It's not badly written, but it's pretty anticlimactic.
