Homestar Runner - hai guoys

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
While there are some good Homestar Runner episodes, most of it (ESPECIALLY SBEMAIL) is the 2000s equivilant of skibidi toilet.
Or maybe I just don't understand it because I didn't grow up with it and only bingewatched every episode of it many years later like a complete autist.
It was really a product of its time. Every week a new sbemail, sometimes a toon, all short and bite-size, with infinite references to the things you grew up with.

we used to grab the swf link from the page source, download them and play them in windows media player so we could skip through and make sure we didnt miss anything and listen to strong sad sing without having to watch the whole thing

Same here, that’s how I would play some of the Club Penguin minigames offline without actually signing in. One of the more clever things I’ve seen is that one of the /v/ the Musical songs a while back is a parody of TMBG’s Experimental Film called “Earthbound Inspired Game”, and the music video is an actual mod of the H*R video, complete with downloadable SWF.
Do we have an archive of all albinoblacksheep.com Flash games? That'd be so cool.
FlashPoint has almost 2 terabytes of old Flash content preserved. Even an old version of the entire H*R site is on there.

Twenty Five Years...

Shamelessly stealing from Tolkien. For those not in the know, Tolkien was a proponent of the "Degeneration of History" philosophy. In that the current era will never be as good as the preceding. Because of man's fallen nature, it can never progress like the Liberal philosophies envision. It can only try and recreate a past that was grander, leading back to the final tainted vision of Gods creation. Each attempt more flawed and broken then the one preceding it. Leading ultimately to utter destruction. But at the end...Rebirth.

To be read while listening to this song.

"Thus spoke Mandos in prophecy, when the Valar sat in judgement in Valinor and the rumour of his word was whispered among all the Elves of the West. When the world is old and the Powers have grown weary, Morgoth, the Black Foe of the World, seeing that the guard sleepeth, shall come back through the Door of the Night out of the Timeless Void; and all shall be darkness, for the sun he will turn to black, and the moon will no longer shed his light.. But the Host of Valinor shall descend upon him as a searing flame, white and terrible. Then shall the Last Battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day, Tulkas shall strive with Morgoth, and on his right hand shall be Eönwë, and on his left Túrin Turambar, son of Húrin, returning from the Doom of Men at the ending of the world; and the black sword of Túrin shall deal unto Morgoth his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Húrin and all fallen Men be avenged."

"Thereafter shall the Earth be broken and remade, and the Silmarils shall be recovered out of Air and Earth and Sea; for Fëanor shall surrender them willingly. Yavanna will rekindle the Two Trees, and a great light shall come forth. And the mountains of Valinor shall be levelled, so that the light shall go out over all the world. In that light the Valar will grow young again, and the Elves awake and all their dead arise, and the purpose of Ilúvatar be fulfilled concerning them. But of Men in that day the prophecy of Mandos doth not speak, and no Man it names, save Túrin only, and to him a place is given among the sons of the Valar."

I've been thinking about this particular note Tolkien wrote for awhile now as I've seen the internet I, for my sins, grew up on slowly decay and become less a place of adventure and fun and more a prison for the mind. It gives me some hope that, like Gandalf told Frodo, there are other powers in the World besides evil.
