How are you dealing with the conservatives being completely right about faggots?

Yeah there's your problem. You're sticking your head in the oven and complaining that it's too hot. California is as liberal as it gets, barely any other schools do this and the ones that do get shat on- Just look at Birmingham (UK).
I get what you're saying and I don't totally disagree. However, California has always had a big influence on the rest of the country. Just because these things are currently contained there doesn't mean it won't catch on and spread elsewhere. Remember when people thought the SJW shit was contained in just a few pockets? It spread. Everywhere. The fact that trans politics have been getting involved in sex ed is also troubling. Kids think and do all kinds of crazy shit they regret later. Who is to say that going to school and hearing you can just throw on a dress, take some hormones and be a girl/boy instead isn't going to spark some little shit to do so simply because the felt like it or because they wanted to piss off their parents? And if the parents refuse? And word gets out? Ohhh boy.

I don't think abstinence only sex ed is good, mind you. It's a pisspoor approach. I think sex ed could use an overhaul. It's outdated. But I also don't think that now is the best climate for it. Too many groups are way too interested in trying to get involved. And yeah, I do think public education in general is a bit of a brainwashing machine. It's not uncommon to see stories about these places punishing kids just for having the wrong opinions. Hell, even colleges, that you fucking have to pay for, are overly involved in what you think and do outside of the building. And you know what? It isn't confined to California or Oregon or even Colorado. It's spreading. And it's only a matter of time before it gets even worse.

Going back a bit to that Desmond kid, isn't that in itself a good example of our failings as a society that we're expected to act like that's okay? That it's published like it's a good, empowering thing? Because omg I LOVE RuPaul! Drag queens are so cool! Gays are sooo stylish.

There's been backlash for all of this stuff. The thing is, someone, somewhere, does not give one single shit what the general populace wants and will keep shoving it all down our throats until we like it or are too scared to speak out.
