How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

It's been a long while since I worked in the service industry, but it's pretty fucked how little restaurants pay their servers. They're the 'face' of the business and customers won't want to come back to a place if they've had a bad experience. Really, it's fucked how poorly people in the service industry get treated, especially since we've seen how bad some places can get when they can't find employees or are short staffed

Well aside the shit pay I can't complain. I get along with my Co workers well and good though at times they feel like just that. Coworkers not friends. Not even fair weather ones. But the place is mostly quiet with only occasional waves of a rush to tend too. Really I spend most of time just standing around waiting for people to arrive or waiting for them to finish eating.

Really as the old saying goes if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life, and for me it barley feels like work at all.

Honestly If I just didn't need money so bad and a lot of it asap to pay off some things I gotta pay, than I'd be a much happier camper.

Sore face and hands all day. Ignored it. Booked train tickets for a nerdy work conference tomorrow that Im actually looking forward to.
Face getting really sore by 7pm
Looked I'm the mirror and it's all red and swollen. WTF?
Worried I'm going to have to turn up tomorrow looking like Freddie Kruger.

Aside from that, and being broke and stressed as usual, I'm fine. As long as I can sit here with a roof over my head, a beer and browse the farms I can't really complain.

I know how you feel man I've been looking for a second job because even with tips my current one pays like shit. And it wouldn't actually be a problem if they didn't deduct from my hours based on what I make in tips.
I'm feeling this. I really enjoy my current part-time job but with a baby on the way and costs ramping up I'm looking to find a second to make ends meet. Not looking forward to it because I know it's probably going to wind up being some kind of shit service job.

Damn an I though I had it bad being behind on my bills not even important ones like electric or gas since those are included, but Verizon payments.

You on the other hand got a kid on the way, with costs going up and shortages of baby products thanks to grandpa Joe valuing trannies and Ukrainians over our children and the supply chain. I legit wish you luck.

Good luck to you man, especially with how fucked up things are getting. Here's a tip, try and shop from a store chain called lidl, they have food and essentials for cheap without sacrificing quality and can stay supplied with essentials better than most places.

my paycheck this week was shit even with all the overtime i did. i really need a new job man.

just happy to have some extra time off, got to sesh with a new friend and i’m finally talking to a guy i’m pretty into :) finally getting a lil group of friends to hang out with too. things are getting better 2022 is for real my year.

I was reminded that there is a war for reality, and one side is about to lose. Badly.

It'll be good for a lot of people here, not so good for the rest of us and especially "normies"

The Frogs have won. Today the Pond, tomorrow the World indeed. They won the moment they got even a portion of the military to enforce their edict. The Left, history will never know why, just let them have it, when they weren't doing everything to sabotage their own side. The Ultimate Gay Op, Successful.

The young are savage, authoritarian, and as the kids love to say "Based". They are about to inherit the Earth and not about to wait for the previous generations to die off this time.

The ground will shake and the heaven's will burn. If Jehova is indeed real, He punked the adversary yet again. Why hasn't Lucifer given up? He knows he's lost.

The pyres will light up the skies.

The rules, all of them, will change. I'm talking the way science it'self works, the way light bends and what humanity can do.

I and everyone like me are going to be forgotten completely. History is getting a hard reset. Pol Pot could only dream of a Year Zero like this.

If you're anything but White European, pack it in now. Kiss your loved ones. Get your affairs in order. You are about to go into the same category as pest control once the last switch is flipped, and they ain't got many left.

My people won't be saved by Zero. Or anything.

You, Kiwifarms are about to win the world. Best start reading up on how to keep it.

Had an interview for a job as a cook in some upscale market take out kitchen (think wholefoods or trader Joe's) went pretty well save for the guy saying he needs someone full time five-days a week. So i blurted out "I can tend my resignation to my current job. "

He took that well, advised to NOT do that unless I get a call back tomorrow though. Other than that I say it went well, asked me if I know how to clean chicken and if I'm good with a knife, said I'm handy with the knife and if there's a specific way you want it done show me and I'll learn. Even asked if I had my ID and social which from what I've heard and seen is a good sign.

Usually means that you're a shoo-in for the job unless someone with even better credentials comes along and like I said the only stumbling block is my current job and I said i can leave it if need be.

Nothing left to do now but wait and see, said he had to see five other candidates and then go thru human resources to check our references and backgrounds and all that red tape.

Nothing left to do now but wait and see what happens.

Good and odd new with my kid. She was released today from the hospital. They checked her stem to stern and the only thing they could find wrong is her spleen is enlarged. Zero cancer, (Yeah fuck that doctor saying it was cancer day 4, you bastard) zero infections in her blood, be it viral, fungal or bacterial. She had an MRI and CT of her heart, as well as an echo to make sure that her stints and valves weren't hiding bacterial colonies. Their official diagnosis for the Spleen enlargement and needing to be removed is (This is not a joke) Cat Scratch Fever. So for the next 6 weeks she has to sit and home and boost herself with antibiotics and get her immune system up to scratch so she can get her spleen removed and we can see where it all goes from there.

As for me? I'm very tired. This has been a very long journey that may take a bit to recover from. Stress, fatigue, not eating and I caught something at the hospital so I had to stop going the last half of the last week. So now to take care of me while keeping my eye on her.

Mate, I know it feels like shit to be put through that horrible experience, but from one parent to another, I'll take a false alarm (albeit a terrifying one) over a doctor that sees a something that could be life-threatening and just goes "nah it's probably nothing".

But I'm glad things are looking up for the kid, best of luck

I'm so happy for you that it's all worked out okay, mate. Have a gin and have a kip, you've earned both.

I’m having massive issues with my mother in law (who I just caught calling me all sorts of horrible names) and the wedding is in less than a month. I have no fucking clue what to do and I’m really tempted to call off the wedding. I love my fiancé and he is the most wonderful person in the world but I just can’t deal with walking on eggshells around his mother.
