How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

No idea. I'd suggest trying to shoot your shot for chicks in real life (if you haven't done so already) because, obviously, not all of them are that fucked. Loads of trial and error. You'll get there.
Probably a good idea, though the number of places you can do that is somewhat limited and bars are usually about the same as dating sites. Really though it's a volume game as it's a matter of finding the small handful of people that have similar enough goals and ideology to make the relationship work long term, then working it out from there. That pool of people can be depressingly small though.

I decided to try online dating again, big mistake. It's just a slew of ugly and crazy women, sometimes you think you see one that looks normal and then you see she has ten kids. How did humanity devolve into this?
That's because online dating is largely women looking to gain some stability and settle down. They'll be late 20s to mid 30s, likely with a kid in tow yet will have rather high expectations for a potential partner. The reasons why are better left to another thread. I wish you luck in finding a good date, maybe you'll find yourself a unicorn.

I'm just surprised that so few women who are well adjusted want to settle down, or maybe there's a bunch but they've probably just found a partner already, though you'd think women would be more future oriented but a lot seem like they're looking for hook ups on dating sites. There are still a couple that do seem reasonable so maybe there will be some luck there.

I think you've got a good idea on it. Plenty do look to the future, plan for it, and look for a partner. Might've already found one, have a prospective one, or what have you. May not have a lot of overlap with the people doing online dating. Sadly I haven't ever seen Online dating work out well at all. It was a mess early in its existence and its only gotten worse.

Really the ones who demand you be 6'2"+, have a high paying job, a 8 inch hog, and a great car are just self-filtering.

I've known a couple people for who it worked out and I remember a long time ago using it and it wasn't too bad, though back then you could send a message and the other person would just get the message so it was easier to communicate and get to know them better. Today it's all about matching and they don't see the message unless other things happen, and you have likes that you can't see unless you pay some absurd amount which doesn't even make sense as if you saw those people and didn't like them organically why would you pay to see people who like you but you don't like back? Just seems like the whole process has become very abrasive to the user and made it much more of a grind.

I'd rather they be upfront with that kind of thing, and don't find it an issue as that's their thing they can pursue it all they want. I'm just tired of reading how much someone loves Harry Potter and how they will save the world with the power of Abortion or whatever. Where are the ones who want to find someone to get to know, start a family, make good financial decisions, and create something that doesn't involve abstract groups of weirdos who don't give a shit about you or your family.

Though at this point I'm just lamenting something I'm sure most men are aware of.

Mother has pretty aggressive cancer, grandfather is also bed bound and probably won't last much longer. The two people who effectively raised me will likely be dead before 2022 is out.

Job is okay, though I'm still earning less than I'd like. Working out is my pleasure and mental health anchor, though I still feel kinda down and out of sorts quote often.

I just had an amazing holiday to Rome with two friends, but that already feels like months ago. Planning to hit Madrid in the fall, solo this time.

Just life shit. I love reading but haven't read a book back to front for what feels like two years. I never thought I'd become that kinda person, but here we are.

Pardon the autistic rambling.

Meanwhile they don't get that men on dating sites are more or less just looking for a slam pig, not a mate.

I was starting to feel burnt out from my personal schedule and the grind of trying to get freelance art jobs but just the other day someone liked the sketch I did for them so much they sent me a HUGE tip on top of their original payment, it really meant a lot and now I'm feeling more rejuvinated.

Though today I had probably the scariest moment in my years of volunteering at the wildlife clinic
I was asked to weigh some baby opossums, usually the hardest part about that is getting the little suckers to hold still and not poop on you. There were four babies in this cage that needed to be weighed, Grabbing the first tail I saw (opossums have very strong tails, so that is how you would handle them- grab a tail and for bigger opossums have your other hand under the stomach for support) I pulled out what initially looked like a very skinny, very still opossum but turned out to be the heavily-eaten remains of opossum #4. It's not totally uncommon for opossums to bite each others tails and ears, when you clean out enclosures it's important to look for fresh blood on the ground or take a peek at the opossums themselves to check for that. This is the first time I've seen a case of full-on cannabalism. Nature is scary and shit!

Well, other than still trying to keep up with 3rd Year College on top of an election that basically screwed over my family and my relatives living in it, while still stuck at home because of the coof, I think its fair to say that I'm apathetic at this rate.

Things are coming together slowly until a job I was offered told me after doing a phone screening and background check that I'd have to have gotten the jab to get this high paying job by the hire date I'd they chose me. Been trying to avoid it as long as possible since I'm healthy and take care of myself but it's a tough choice between to continue living in a Shithole or take a job that'll help me a lot in biotech. The fact I even have to ask which vaccine is safer shows how fucked up everything has become but I've heard moderna is the safest jab

Instead of being normal and just giving me morning sickness, my pregnancy is overachieving and giving me all day sickness. The only upside is I haven't thrown up,  yet.

Clay Puppington body pillow? Guess some people really want to perform Immoral Oral on a drunken closet-case clay man.

In other news, a squirrel lives in a tree outside my window so I've been giving it food every now and again. The problem is, it only wants junk. Sandwich crusts it'll gobble down, but things that are actually good for squirrels like carrots it won't touch. Not even the raccoons have eaten the carrots. They have been sitting in my yard for three days. I live next to a forest in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. Not a single animal of the thousands up here is willing to eat a goddamn carrot.

Since I don't want to keep giving the squirrel unhealthy things, I'm thinking about slathering some peanut butter on carrots and putting it out for it. Might grab some unsalted nuts too.

They love birdseed. Seems like every day, I'm throwing stuff and yelling at squirrels to keep them out of my bird feeders.
Used to have a birdfeeder, I remember the struggle. Have you tried mixing capsacian into the seeds? The spice will deter the squirrels, but birds not being mammals are largely unaffected by it. That was pretty much the only thing that finally got them to stop destroying all my birdfeeders.

I put cayenne pepper on and around the pole they someone manage to climb, but it didn't really work. They still would climb it and get to the seeds. Maybe I'll try what you said.

It is a constant struggle.

I swear to god, how do certain people manage to live the lives they live in this ridiculously expensive city? I work my ass off, I am expected to be certain places at certain times, and it feels like everyone around me has these super flexible lives and can do whatever they want to do whenever. I’m fucking jealous. I admit it. I feel like I’m saving up for some future life while others are living it up now. I hate it.

If you've got a plan for the future and you're staying focused, you're doing better than a lot of people out there. Do you do any recreational job interviews? Good positions are hard to find and they get snapped up fast, so if you want to move up you have to be willing to keep throwing your line out even if you're got a steady job already.
