How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

It's always seemed curious to me the horror show that public transport is over there in the US, while it's perfectly fine in most other places.
Its mostly poor and generally the lower class people, bums, alcoholics/junkies/the refuse of society that use it in large swaths of America. America is a car culture, and for good reason, since many of our states alone dwarf most European countries, and it wouldnt be viable to run transit for large areas of sparse population. Having a car is basically the default here, if you are fortunate enough to not be from a large city, and so long as certain interests keep failing to change that. Getting your licence and first car is a right of passage in most parts of America.

Its different in college towns and bughive cities, by which I mean more economically and socially diverse riding public transit, not that its any better of an experience.

It varies. My Canadian city recently broke up a crack ring that had put up sticks in the train stations in the city, as before then it was bad, with many stations being perpetually a haze of chemicals.

I'm doing alright, current state of politics over where I am and seeing troons everywhere is kind of a downer, but the world will move on some day. Comfort in that.

We have a tiny little cup and saucer for my dog's coffee. I think she likes the cream more than the coffee itself. But she will poke you with her nose and bat at you with her paw until you give her some.
I don't give her anything while I have meals. Don't want to encourage begging. She's a mastiff, so allowing her to bat at me is a great way to look like a domestic abuse victim everytime I eat.

Just fell over one of her toys while playing tug of war and listening to thrash metal. 10/10. Would almost twist my ankle again. Strangely enough, she seemed calmer listening to metal. Guess nutty humans(me) aren't the only ones that find metal soothing.

I agree ghosting goes too far, but considering companies never give you much notice if they fire you, I don't blame someone for just quitting and leaving. Tell them you're quitting though, not telling them is just a terrible thing to do unless something really bad is going on.
always give your today notice.

A really, really dumb bitch currently holds the keys to a potentially life-changing career opportunity for me and I just don't fucking know how to politely smack the stupid out of her and convince her to let me on. I am the only person on earth remotely competent enough to do a job for her while also being a non-ESL who communicates well AND she can actually afford to hire. Yet she insists on pursuing avenues that she explicitly admits she can't afford or won't work out for some other reason first, all while using jargon she's demonstrated she does not fucking understand at all. She's been stringing me along for months and I'm exhausted.

JUST LET ME FIX YOUR SHIT YOU DUMB BITCH GOD DAMN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Eh, things still rough as always. Ankle's busted again just from trying to do my normal running per usual, maybe it's old injuries forcing me to not slow down speed, but less distance. I really love fitness, so being forced to cut back gets to me in ways no one close to me understands.

Moving to and in with relatives Monday. My own family is extremely dysfunctional, and I can't keep being the sane one or on-call one all the time for them and keep putting my own life on the back burner. The relatives far better in terms of respect to one another and even the area has more opportunities for work, and I'd like to use it to springboard back to being on my own for good someday - living in the sticks most of my life has affected me badly even before family issues ever did. My main fear is that I end up worthless or a burden to my relatives.

I worry in conjunction with being mostly isolated most of my life that figuring anything out relationships-wise past friendship is hopeless for me, especially at my age, but that gets into whiner territory. I may just end up a crazy cat dude or psuedo-monk just workin' out and meditating till he croaks to keep a semblance of peace and acceptance in my head.

They're trying to Harrison Bergeron me at work. It's bizarre but they've said, outright, that my knowing 'all the answers' / the best way to do everything, is hindering the development of junior people on the project. Only they've decided not to use the term junior anymore. I asked how I'm supposed to distinguish between people who have just started and those who have lots of expertise and told I shouldn't need to distinguish between them. In any case, I have been explicitly told that they would prefer I sit there through a meeting and not give answers / proposals so that other people can have an opportunity to 'work it out for themselves'.

I may quit - I wont be the first. I wonder if I actually dare sign my resignation letter (if I do this) 'Harrison Bergeron' ?

No paid vacation. Paid per hour worked. However, I do have enough money put by that I could take a little time off. Might be a good compromise idea. Though I almost feel the closure of being done with it would be worth it.

It's the weekend, I'll think it over before doing anything rash. But it's a good suggestion. The sad thing is that I was quite enthusiastic about the work and bringing a lot to the job. Now I feel I'm being punished for that enthusiasm.
