Hey, at least you and I were grew out of the worst parts of it. There are still some people that are 40 and older that act like goths, punk music and nu metal are still the new hotness. It's better to let nostalgia for the past be put into something useful like a hobby or job than to cling to the past so dearly, you lose the present and your future as well.

Most people today are trapped a the Groundhog Day of childhood. Everyone who is a punk or goth today is a chode. But the present is worse than the past. We are in a human twilight of dogshit. Almost nothing new is ever good. Everything is an inferior reboot. Everything is a soulless, overproduced version of something from the past.

I have no hope for anything. Most definitely not in other people, not in culture, not in music or movies.

It is remarkable how destroyed all the other people are in this country now. Faggotry everywhere. Everyone is basically a redditor now. Reddit society. I just kind of get these nihilistic impulses where I want to burn everything down because I hate this fucking spiralling society.

I'm saying that's how I'm feeling. I'm so thoroughly disgusted by everything as of late. There's so little of value dealing with mainstream entertainment, society, etc. these days, and most people have become so simple-minded and foul. Almost nothing from the last 20 years deserves to be remembered. When I think of all the people interacting with mainstream entertainment and what it's doing to their minds, I think of that shit fetishist that took videos of him swimming around in a septic tank. I sort of view our society as swimming around in a big poopy septic tank.

I'm about to move a LONG distance, from the US Rockies to the eastern seacoast. I'm planning to rent a Penske (fuck U-Haul) 26 footer and tow my car on a Penske trailer behind said truck. I was unable to get another driver to drive my car (my wife will drive her car) and I've read enough horror stories about van line moving companies only delivery weeks after the agreed date to motivate me to bite the bullet and drive this ramshackle abomination.

I'm a bit nervous about it as my personal car is a Corolla, I have zero experience driving a trailer, and it'll be in winter. However, reading about it online, it serms like it's really not that hard and you get used to it within the hour- just plan ahead so you never have to back up and stick to highways as much as possible. And most people saying this when you Google the question are on Reddit- if fucking redditards can manage it, how hard can it REALLY be?

Anyone have this type of experience? Am I being wildly optimistic with this plan?

Can't advise you on towing it but those Penskes are pretty easy to drive and you have a lot of window space to see around you. It's easier than it sounds.

Regardless everything is shitty shit. I think if someone can look at the average person today and not feel disgust, something may very well be wrong with them too. There's just no way to have optimism about the state of mankind now. I don't know what's up with me today but I woke up feeling 10 HP Lovecrafts worth of disgust at everything today. There's SO much going wrong and no counter-trends in society to make everything better.

We're always buoyed once I've booked a holiday.

There's a lot to consider because I don't purchase package holidays, but most of it is booked now and travel insurance in place. Anyway, we're off to SE Asia next May and my wife is extremely happy because we've got something to look forward to.

I've actually had no problems with van lines in... 5 moves I guess, stuck to the big names, got real quotes, met the rep in person to get the quote, etc.
There's also the pod type movers and ABF where you load the trailer.

But in any case. Weather is the most critical part. Don't even chance it, just find a hotel. Do not get in a hurry.
Make sure wherever you go says "Truck Parking" as you don't want to be trying to back that stuff up or sticking it in a tiny parking lot.

Also your stopping distance is going to suck, pretend you're a giant truck... because you are.

I don't know about the states you're going through, but out here in the Western US, they really like their truck speed limits and really really like pulling over people pulling trailers who are not following them. Once again, do not get in a hurry.
