How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

On the one hand, got replacement for that tablet and it seems to work fine. On the other hand, bought cheap earbuds and they seem to be broken. Sometimes life is just trolling me.

I’m a little over a week out from having my baby. I have NEVER felt this tired in my life. I simultaneously have bad fidgets, yet there’s no way I’d start any kind of project, no matter how small. I’m excited, scared, and looking forward to cutting off the world so I can be with my kiddo. Mr. Bowl has generous paternity leave, too. We’re pretty slap-happy.

I'm on my last semester of my bachelor's degree. I only have one class this semester, and as someone who averages 4 or so at a time it's...weird. I feel like a complete slacker but all I really have to do is watch a recorded lecture once a week and do some reading, and turn in a 2 page analysis paper every other week or so. And then one more big essay at the end. I can't complain, it's a relaxing final lap to get my degree.

I'm also considering getting some of my vitamin levels checked, or even my thyroid. I've had chronic low energy and similar issues that I've kind of just accepted as part of me. But maybe I can see if it's an actual fixable issue.

95% sure I finally got the coof. Had a pretty bad sore throat the last few days, chest congestion, and this kind of weak cough thing going on. I don't feel the need to cough constantly, but when I do I let out a bunch of shallow rapid ones in a row before I can stop. That on top of some general fatigue and mental fogginess.

Oh well.
That's how I'm feeling right now(:_(My mom is feeling worse than I do so she went to get tested today, we'll find out in a few days if it's La Rona or not. If she has it than it's what I have too. I'm not worried but I hate how getting sick messes up my workout schedule, having to quarentine will mess it up more.

Hacked up a shit ton of yellow mucous this morning after I got up, but nothing since. Still have a pretty bad sore throat and feel physically drained as shit, but that's about it.

Life's been a series of ups and downs lately.

Applied for and got a new gig at work. It seems to be going well, despite the fact that I feel I'm fucking it up somehow. Went through a breakup and experienced the stereotypical shit that comes along with it such as drinking, depression, weight gain. I've discovered that the older you are, the harder hangovers hit. I need to work out, get back on track and quit drinking. The thought of dating again is weird and kind of scary with everyone apparently being really into identity politics and whatnot. I've been selling a lot of my rare/out of print weeb shit and games online and that's been going pretty well. Working from home's a blessing since I've caught up on a lot of movies and shows I've horded over the years. Things aren't as bad as they could be, but I need to be better.

I feel like I won the Kijiji lottery! I'm in the process of setting up a home gym, and for $250, I managed to score some commercial exercise equipment, including an elliptical trainer and a multi adjustable weight bench. (Was gobsmacked to discover that refurbished versions of these still sell for around $3k and $1.5k respectively). The dude I bought it from was incredibly nice, and I was happy to make his wife happy by getting out of their garage. Win win!

The elliptical and bench do need to be disassembled, stripped down, cleaned of surface rust, and repainted, but they're otherwise in great condition, and I'm looking forward to tackling this project and getting a good HIIT workout in during this latest round of lockdowns.

Nice! I think a home gym might be one of my spring projects. I got my furnace and ac done, but im gonna hold off for a year for a new driveway/patio and new fence. I'm thinking of turning my back patio into a sunroom, now. My buddy does them in a day or 2, and I could get a good discount, his boss likes me for doing some drone videos of a few jobs for them. If I did that, I think it would be a great gym. You get the equipment through FB marketplace, or an app like LetGo or OfferUp? My mom recc'd those apps to me for getting stuff but I've yet to check em out. Might be about time. Could get rid of some of the stuff I had to take from my granddad's place, too.

The sunroom sounds like an awesome project, and best of luck getting it done!

I was just lucky when I found this listing on Kijiji. The seller works at the local YMCA and this was decommissioned equipment they let him take for home for a nominal fee. So if anything, it might be a good idea to befriend employees at your local Y!
