True enough, Hulkster.

Would he be better off selling the house and getting an apartment? Not that I'd expect him to.

We have Chris whining on Facebook about how the roof is leaking and it's going to take the next 6 months' tugboat to get a new roof to look forward to.

Holy crap. Chris might make out pretty well for himself. Well, until he has to buy a car or has problems that he can't throw money at. I don't think he'll have over $800/month in disposable income, but he'll have enough.

One expense not mentioned is a one time expense to throw out the hoard once Barb dies. I don't think Chris would want to live in the hoard once Barb goes, but then again, he might not care.

As much as I hate to admit it, Chris may have the last laugh.

Brother, the problem will be property taxes and unexpected expenses, such as car repair, house repair, etc...

He is lucky the house is (likely) paid for, man, but the condition of the house is not going to mean cheap upkeep.

Brother, real Americans fix their own damn house or car when it breaks. Chris needs to take his vitamins, say his prayers, and figure out how to open Bob's old tool box when the time comes.

That's Mr. Brother to you good sir.

As much shit Chris gets for being a "redneck", at least rednecks know how to fix stuff. Even if it's something as cheap and simple as putting plywood over a broken window. Chris doesn't know what plywood is, or where to get it, or how to cut it to size and attach it to a window frame.

Brother, honorifics are for pansy Europeans, not red-blooded, vitamin-taking American men.

His entire life has been a thing of pity. But his future brings with it more opportunities for improvement. Chris couldn't improve if he wanted to now, because of his gastropod of a mother. When Godbear finally pours his heavenly salt on her, Chris's life will change permanently. It sucked for him when his dad died, but he was still able to go right back to being a little boy because his mother enabled that so well. Without her, life will change. He will be forced into independence the responsibilities that come with it. He can fail, and almost certainly will. He can try to hide from it, and almost certainly will. But reality will catch up to him quickly and assert itself. He's in for a big change, and any change from his current circumstances will be for the better. Even if that means jail, it would be better for him than this.

Chris has what every other disabled basket case in the USA has to look forward to, and that is plenty of jail time. He will be in and out of jail all of his life.

I said he's going to end up rotating in and out of jail all his life, I didn't say he DESERVED that fate. The mentally ill commit petty crimes and go in and out jail in-between their homeless stints in the US. This is what Chris has to look forward to in the future, and it is incredibly depressing. He might come out of his shell a bit when his mother dies and he realize he has to change to survive. Survival instinct is present in the lowliest of gods creatures, he has to have some. Can he learn restraint enough to keep from buying make-up to save for a car repair so he can keep buying food in the future? Not at present.

:alog: You know who else was in and out of jail for most of his life? CHARLES MANSON. What he did was potatoes compared to what Chris has done! :alog:

Assuming that after his mother dies, Chris will have lots of jail time as a result of misunderstandings in public is not a-logging.

I know, I was joking, I just couldn't resist. Your probably right actually, he already has a criminal record.

And just imagine if Sonic and MLP existed in 1969? What then, Pickle? WHAT THEN :pickle:

I thought the house was paid off. If so, that's a major expense he'll avoid.

McWraps ain't cheap though. And, at least the Mikky D's I worked at did not accept food stamps. I would imagine that $800 in discretionary spending would go pretty quickly. When the medical bills add up (as they will at Chris' current consumption rate and lack of exercise), he will have no money to pay for any medication or surgery. Some major disaster will be the end for him. Maybe the state will intervene at that point.

Michael Jackson would have been a lot more terrifying in the 90's.

I apologize. Personally, I hope that he ends up with a social welfare worker or a handler who will help him adjust to living an autonomous life.

Chris might not since he is high functioning.

The 90's was when the molester accusations started. (:_(

How is he gonna clean that hoard when he's on his own? I say he should sell what ever is sell able to a junk stores and throw out whatever won't sell. Then I would use that tug boat money to hire some exterminators. Didn't he say there were wasps in his house?
