That's what happened, it was just a matter of days and years.

Chris lives in his own time capsule where he never has to grow up where he can be a spoiled brat forever, play pokemon with his mental peers. Even worst he cherry picks the good aspects of adulthood and shuns the hardships we all have to endure to progress.

How long he would have been able to go to the game place to play pokemon with children? Every sane parent would be concern that a 30+ man plays with their children.

How long his body would keep a high metabolism without activity and a unhealthy diet?

How long his fantasy world would coexist whit the hardships of reality, life and death?

Also the internets.
 
His life was already destroyed. He just didn't know it yet.

I was wondering what if Cole actually did something about Chris' growth. I mean... exactly how old was he when he still visited the Chandler household? In those times I'd try something for poor Christard when he's like... on the road to becoming what he is now. I'd actually respect Cole a lot if he did something about it.

Well, by Chris's own admission, he spent a lot of time staring in the mirror. Apparently it finally stared back, or maybe he just finally recognized himself.
 
What happened?

Nothing happened, that's the problem. Chris wants to stay the same forever.... life won't let you do that.
