Several years ago I just stumbled across him and his stories online. I didn't think too much about him. I didn't really start getting into him when I got into Encyclopedia Dramatica back in September and I paid attention to him more closely. It was history for me there on out.

Edit: I saw him once in a RWJ video where he was called "Your average Star Trek fan" and I still didn't think too much about him back then.

I was just watching random YouTube videos earlier this year and the 360 classroom video on him popped up and I got really interested, mainly because I love watching people slowly go nuts and see where it leads.

Last week, lmfao. I had the youtube documentary by sachumo in my Watch Later for months, but completely forgot about it until a friend sent it on skype. I spent about an hour looking through ED and I eventually came across a link that led here. I had no idea Sonichu was part of a larger story :o

I first heard about it from Linkara's list of things he'd never review. Sonichu was briefly mentioned under a section where he said he wouldn't review webcomics.

I first remember hearing about him from a Sega or Sonic forum, but I didn't really learn about him until I stumbled upon this website while googling a lolcow.

From 666j1's videos. They were pretty context-less so I didn't understand until sometime later.

I started learning more around the time Bob became a regular victim in the soundboard prank call community. lol

I heard about him on TV Tropes but didn't get an introduction until I watched Lord Shadrach's video on him. I then watched the documentary and went from there

I'm not sure of the exact year, but I was around 13/14 and I found out about him on ED. I didn't make an account on the CWCki forums until years later, though, because I was a little pussy and didn't want to get arrested or whatever for being too young to have an account.

If memory serves - this would've been about, what, eight years ago? - I was looking up some info about those old, horrifying Chick tracts I read when I was a kid. There was a site I dug up that featured those, and also featured articles about a proto-cow named David Gonterman. Like Chris, Gonty was a selfish, lazy bag of cellulite and disgusting behavior (although he was more bigoted and self-centered than abjectly revolting. Gonty has never told anyone that he drank anything that came out of himself, as far as I know).

I was fascinated by Gonterman's myopic thinking and unabashed ego-centrism, coupled with his dunkrugerish lack of talent or skill when it came to his 'art.' I found as much info as I could on him, including youtube vids. While looking all this stuff up, youtube suggested a video about Chris. I'd heard about the guy, or at least about something called Sonichu, from Linkara from Above the Fourth Wall, stating that he would never review Chris-chan's comic.

The picture featured in the video was the classic striped-shirt, leaning back in a chair, surrounded by toys attraction pic. I instantly felt sorry for him; there was something about the guy that just seemed very obviously wrong, in a semi-kinda-Down's syndrome sort of way, but I couldn't quite place it. Was it his fat face? His inscrutable stare into the pitiless void? Whichever it was, I thought at the time that people were being cruel to a man who was clearly mentally challenged.

Then I came across the CWCki, and here we are. I realized, after a year or so, what it was about Chris that seemed so deformed: his limbs, those spindly pipe cleaners attached to a bloated potato with a fleshy marshmallow on top. Chris wasn't retarded, he was just weak and fat.

A friend told me about him around 2008, it was a low point in my life, but pretty much found out there was some guy who has a messed up life, followed him ever since, and had some laughs seeing all the crazy shit he has done.

Mid 2010 for me. I think the first big "thing" that happened after I discovered him was the time he got drunk and drove to the GAMe PLACe.

As for how I discovered him, it was because of Sonichu. It was some forum, GameFAQs maybe, and someone mentioned Sonichu at one point as a Smash Bros character and I assumed it was just someone mockingly combining Sonic and Pikachu. I decided to google it hoping to see a goofy look shop of Pikachu and Sonic combined, and holy shit I got so much more than I was looking for.

The better part of a decade later, and I'm still watching this crazy show.

I found out about him in early 2014 when reading about youtubers who have been arrested and somebody mentioned him. Also, around that time I found out about Sammy Classic Sonic Fan who used to be very similar to him, so that piqued my interest further. It would've been cool to have known about him back in the glory days, but better late than never.
