I'm happy to say it went very well here.
We ate a lot, opened the presents, laughed and played a lot.
How did your Christmas go?

I hope it went wonderfully and that you had a beautiful celebration!

Everyone was pretty relaxed. Usually a fight breaks out and people yell for a minute but this year everyone was pretty happy to be around each other.

One of those times I was like Awwww my family isn't so bad. But I'll still be glad to be home soon. Quite happy to stay a few more days and avoid the holiday clusterfuck that seems to be going on.

Went back to my old house to celebrate with the rest of my family. The dinner was too salty, grandma was more annoying than usual, and the cat stole my bed and left me covered in her hair. Next year, I think I will do the dinner.
Oh, and the gifts I ordered arrived much earlier than expected. It's the second time it happens. Weird.

I woke up sick but it didn't really ruin the day for me at all. I got a few videogames as presents so I just chilled in bed with my cat while playing Dragon Quest Builders 2. I also got a new set of acrylic paint, a small set of oils, a new set of brushes, and "mixed media gel sticks". I don't know what they are but my mom thought they looked neat and I think they look neat so heck yeah. I bought myself a back issue of Heavy Metal Magazine, some Iron Maiden comics, and Thumpin' Guts which is a Simon Bisley comic. (Who I'm obsessed with)
I made a few things for Christmas dinner the day before so thankfully I didn't have a ton of work to do while sick.

I was fine on Christmas Eve so I went out skateboarding while wearing obnoxious Christmas socks and a 5 foot long Santa Hat my grandma got me a few years ago. There was a strong eastward wind that was a bitch to ride into but it got the hat billowing which was the main idea.

Christmas was nice. Always look forward to it. Good food, good gifts (ranging from fun to practical), and, most importantly, good people to celebrate with.

While Christmas Day has come and gone, I'm still in the Christmas spirit. I have some fun and festive things coming up before the New Years. The Holidays aren't over for me until the Epiphany (January 6th). Until then, I'm still going to rock my ugly sweaters and my Christmas PJs.

I went to this thing where nobody really knew anybody and I've made the mistake of speaking my mind.
I sometimes get this ridiculous thought that you can just talk with others in a calm and logical way and they'll take time to understand what you mean, that they won't just get emotional after hearing 1 trigger phrase and stop using their brains right after that. I need to get that out of my head forever.
I ended up getting kicked out.
Fun times, reminded me why I don't like people very much. There are some which are OK but, just like with everything, you need to look for them in the sea of mediocrity.

It was good. Had dinner with my family and we talked about politics and stuff. They're all liberal and I'm conservative, and I'm pretty sure they all hate Trump. My stepdad is a lot less liberal than the rest of my family, but he's still a Democrat. Very old fashioned guy. Pretty much as conservative as you can get without actually being a Republican, if that makes sense. My brother bet me $100 that Trump won't be re-elected. That's the easiest $100 I'm ever gonna make.

Besides being ordered to wash the car (Dad's sense of time and place remain impeccable as ever), Christmas Eve was relatively quiet until dinner time, when we decided to celebrate by eating at the all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in the neighboring town. We invited another family over and got to see their two tykes again; the older child remained as fussy an eater as ever (only bringing himself to eat rice and other bland foods), while his baby sister happily inhaled all the raw fish she can get her hands on. She's adorable. Afterwards, we took pictures in front of the giant tree the town always sets up.

On Christmas Day, we were dragged off to a house party hosted by a friend of the family and ate hotpot. While all the old folks hung around the table and traded gossip, I spent the majority of my time there with this little thing:

Despite his cute looks, he has a hair-trigger temper and has already bitten at least 4 people on that day alone, me included. Even so, I got him to warm up to me to the point where he happily sat on my lap while I pet him for almost an entire hour straight. I don't get to be around dogs often due to my allergy (still got itchy eyes afterwards), so it has been very therapeutic for me.

Later that night, I checked back on him. He bit me for the third time. Still tried petting him afterwards.

Not my ideal Christmas, but there are worse ways to spend it with family.

Went to about three different places and ate a lot of unhealthy (but delicious) bullshit.
We brought our dog with us too, so that added an extra layer of exhaustion to it.
Worth it, though. We had a good time.

It's to the point where I don't really give a shit about getting gifts (especially since I'm a big boy adult and can buy whatever shit I want for myself), but I really like watching my wife and our nieces and nephews get excited about the gifts.

It's cute.
