How do you deal with knowing that everything is finite and ultimately pointless?

Our ancestors? Yeah, they worked their arses off and knew suffering we have the luxury of never experiencing, but who remembers them? They had short miserable lives and now they're in the ground. They can't even enjoy watching their descendents do well. Yeah, you're walking around carrying their genes but you're not a reincarnation of them.
You really don't have any idea do you?

People who need meaning in this life this badly should probably just die out. Nothing will ever be good enough for them.

I like to believe this life is just like an egg before "hatching" into a more real eternity. But if there's no afterlife, I figure one wouldn't be around to experience the lack of experience - or that any afterlife belief in such a case turned out to be wrong.

Just realize, the world's a joke
"Going insane from suffering" is what the "honkpill" sounds like to me.

Honestly, why is being remembered THAT important?

Isn't it a kind of virtue signalling on a cosmic scale?

Einstein gets undeserved credit for plenty of things for example. What a vainglorious thing to want. There are people unremembered who did many great things. If given a choice, I'd rather be like the latter than the former. If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't be on an anonymous forum.

>Everything is pointless, we all reduce to dust.
Great, so there is no downside to persevering and trying your best/hardest. You can either be this useless wallowing sack of shit and self pity, or you can try and make something of yourself. It doesn't matter in the end right?

Life is what you make it. We give meaning to life and make our own fate in process. To live is to die, and so on. Learning, experiencing, creating and so much more.

nihilism is cringe and for retarded 15 year olds who just had their first philosophy class in high school. I used to think that change only mattered in the here and now. But recently, I've come to the belief that creating something, and having it pass down to the next person in front of you carrying that ideal, and building upon it, is what's really great about life.

Like I don't know man. Just accept the blackpill and honkpill and you'll be fine. Unless you are that retarded sperg that goes out to say it to the public.

That's where you're wrong. Just the same as you are the sum total of your entire lineage, the literal reincarnation of all the best traits that have generated nothing but an unbroken string of success stretching back millenia, so too will your life continue in any children you have.

This was something I seriously struggled with as a kid. I wouldn't eat or sleep or go to school because I was so scared of dying and I knew life was pointless. Here's the thing that took me years and years to realize: life being pointless makes it better.

If life had a set goal, living would be terrible. The only reason lifetime milestones exist now is because we live in a modern society + reproduction purposes (i.e. go to school, get married, have kids, retire, die) but you don't have to follow any of those. You have a biological purpose to reproduce and you have a societal purpose to work and give back to the economy, but you don't have to do that. But you do NOT have a purpose to live. Your actual life that you lead every day is only bound by the laws of the land, and aside from that you can do essentially anything, Billionaires who fuck porn stars and sit in fat stax of cash will be buried the same 6ft under as a fat greasy incel slob. You can do nearly anything* you want in life and that is perfectly fine. Make shitty art or music. Become a psychonaut. Live off grid. Move to a city. Take up underwater basket weaving, go back to school, try a new job - do nothing at all.

You will die. You will die and it will be just like it was the infinite time before you were born; you won't even know it. It will not be painful. It will not be anything. And in the end, every single person - evil, good, white, black - we will all be in the same nothingness. And I think that's nice. ♥️

*do not rape children etc

Nothing exists; even if something exists, nothing can be known about it; and even if something can be known about it, knowledge about it can't be communicated to others.

There's deep thoughts then there's goth teenage bullshit, guess which one this is.

Get over yourself. Your not special. No one is. It all goes back to cosmic dust? Sure, so whats the point of life? Whats the point of sitting around with your thumb up your ass all concerned about your cosmic forever?

This is philosphy 101 crap you need to go outside and touch some grass. You have life, and a higher level of consciousness than any other lifeform in this solar system or any we have knowledge of beyond it. Is that not unique enough for you?

If theres no point of living then the solution seems obvious, a bathtub and a razorblade, save us the trouble

remember kids it down the road not across the street
