If da detractors and his subforum here went radio silent for 45 days, he'd be done.

Dave thrives (word used loosely, if his finance woes are to be believed) on the manufactured drama and memes. If he didn't have good Samaritans poking holes in his stories, snorts poking holes in his everything, or us autists here giving him ammo for begging...he'd have no material. His gameplay is utter garbage, so people won't watch it. His personality is trash, so people won't show up for that. He brings nothing to the table by himself that screams "give me money, it's totally worth it!" without someone else adding a wrinkle to the story.

Once the "slander" goes away, so does he. And, of course, once he goes away...the slander will kick right back up just to piss all over him.
 
Just enjoy a happy life.
Phil's natural jealousy will do the rest.

Whenever detractors pozload my neghole, he gets ammo and receives pity bucks. Whenever he's on his own, he will show the entire spectrum of his salty foolishness and spirals into a fantastic transformation sequence to the onion man, the laughing stock of the internet and middle finger to everything good in the world.

That's the paradox of his life.

Oh, but don't stop the laugh and criticizm, it's the essence that feeds his gout ridden brain with anger, and it's fucking funny.

People would have to forget DSP exists entirely, and that's never gonna happen knowing how infamous he is.

Best to accept he'll always be that pathetic weirdo that lives on way beyond any form of common sense; he's one of the purest lolcows in the universe.
 
Hypothetically, if there was a detractor DSP boycott for long enough, I think it would do him in.

No detractors in his stream. No Tevin restreams. No Snort videos. Nothing.

"We hate Phil and want him GONE!"

But the reality is most people don't want him gone. We want to see him try to succeed and fail every time. Carnival slideshows are banned now, Phil is the next best thing. "Come see the idiot man child explain how eating tacos is hard work..."

The things Phil does are boring. At the same time Phil is interesting. He's so odd. Who else in the world describes separating their whites and colored clothes a "custom laundry system"?
 
A sub-goal where if he gets X amount of subscribers he has to do 10 push-ups* live on stream. He'd almost certainly have a heart-attack before he hit number 4.

This.If Khet flips and goes all SIW (strong independent woman) on his ass in the divorce courts we could see some real kahntent.
 
The thing that will end him prematurely is his poor lifestyle choices regarding his health. He eats trash and has energy drinks every day. All of you have already watched him in his 'Nightmare Burger' video, and it's not just bad lighting.

What could end his career is people getting bored of his drama, which is not going to happen soon, because there are 'detractors' like Tevin, Snort Burnell or DSPArchives who are already full invested in what happens in this man's life. This attracts more people that try to get a reaction of DSP, in order to provide material (to KF included) and entertain themselves.

That's what I'm thinking, anyway.
 
Phil is resilient. But this resilience is all taking place within a context of consistent failure and shamelessness.

This man has no applicable job skills. He has no career. He has done nothing with his life but consume the content created by people much more talented that he ever will be.

He has arguably failed at everything he's tried to do: failed at pioneering/ capitalizing on the Let's Play model; failed at growing his YT channels; failed at becoming a popular YT'er; failed at becoming a popular streamer; failed at his finances; failed at marrying the girl who I believe was his genuine soulmaid; failed at creating any kind of sustainable business model; failed at keeping his luxury car; failed at maintaining one additional property in a cheap part of the country.

The list is ridiculously long.

There's nothing envious about Phil or what he's done. He represents the prototypical mediocre American idiot; even with a minimal amount of effort and a bit of luck, you can still create a middle class lifestyle for yourself. And for Phil, who obviously came from a lower-middle class background, having lifted himself up to the next social bracket over represents his biggest win and will do whatever it takes to cling on to it.

His story is not unique at all and is actually quite representative of the majority of people in this country. Just the way he's attempting to cling onto his societal gains is being displayed for everyone to see and obviously attracts people who resent what he's doing.

I was kind of kicking around the idea of a 'vacation from DSP', where everyone that restreams, comments, makes videos about or even idles in his chat room just leaves. 2 weeks would be enough to show that 1. It's not just an 'off week' 2. He needs the detractors more than he realizes 3. We're well aware of how much we are propping up DSP's business, by actively creating drama and controversy which brings in people - at least for a little while.

Let's say we decided to do it June 1st, 2020 so we had an entire year to hype it. Do you think people actually would adhere to it? I'm guessing a majority would the first year, then just a small percentage every additional year.
 
I think if detractors stopped talking about Phil, he'd just make up stuff or constantly reference his greatest detractor hits. He usually talks about detractors in the vaguest of possible terms and his loyal paypigs just automatically believe whatever he says. The biggest hit I think would come from the lack of troll cheers.

Phil already does kinda make his own detractors up anyway by portraying himself as the only straight main in video gaming, vaguely implying everyone else in a video game related field is being paid off by the major industries. This isn't full on detractor behavior persay, but it definitely feeds into Phil's narrative he's a hard working honest content creator who gets screwed over by the Man for not being a corporate slave. Obviously, we know this isn't true, but at least some of his loyal paypigs do.
 
I don't think a boycott would accomplish anything. I doubt Phil gets many new followers now on Twitch. Most of his paypigs are long-time watchers. He's riding the popularity he accrued 8-11 years ago by successfully shattering Youtube's algorithms as long as it goes.

Phil's size as a kahntent creator is actually his best horcrux, because he's too stupid to have capitalized on his early gaming of the YouTube system, and thus is too much of a small fry for the mainstream drama machine to fully turn their attention on him. He is, at his most infamous, a sideshow where people point and laugh at the fat washup who jacked off on stream. If he were huge, he would have been totally fucked by any of the surrounding drama; Twitch certainly wouldn't want to keep around someone receiving that much flak, but the reality is that because Phil brings in whale money while staying relatively under the radar from sources that can put real pressure on Twitch, he'll just keep on truckin as long as he's got autistic whales that watched Phil's shitty letsplays when they were kids. Bigger creators have done far less and been removed from YT/Twitch, but Phil's got a special combination of shamelessness and magnetic autism.
So really, his greatest asset is the fact that he sucks at his job - otherwise, he would've been booted out long ago.
