Honestly I hate that I'm not surprised by this, like its common knowledge Chris has always had some sort of attraction to his mother, it was either gonna be the Incest saga or the hide Barbs dead body saga.

It provides a logical conclusion for me. Chris is a sexually obsessed autist, and his relationship with Barb always was weird at the least. I never expected Chris to do this, but I'm also not terribly surprised.

As a fellow autist with legal troubles myself, Chris is only unique because he's had his entire life plastered over the internet. I've seen many autists who never received proper help, some of which have ended up homeless and waiting to die. Others that cleaned up enough and learned to shut up so they could NEET n' chill in subsidized housing for the rest of their lives like myself.

It's tough, especially for old parents like Bob that had no idea what they got themselves into. Chris was screaming for help with his actions, but people involved didn't know what to do. Some like Mary Lee Walsh tried, but there's only so much power she had. And when the plan all along seems to be Chris living with his Mom forever, and eventually being her caretaker... well, it was all a disaster waiting to happen, tbh.

To be honest, I always used Chris as an example of how not to live life. You have the urge to to something stupid? Would Chris do it? Yes? Then don't do it.

Am I surprised? Nope. I followed him way before registering here and he always seemed to be in the position to lower the bar a bit more. As soon as Bob fell ill and couldn't keep an eye on Chris, Pandora's box was wide open in all its glory and Chris rummaged in it like a madman searching for his long lost car keys. So as soon as Bob went to the big axegrounds it was clear that it was only a matter of time for a big fuck up and I'm surprised it wasn't something even more horrible like keeping Barb in a freezer or going full postal on someone in his delusions.

Honestly, even though he is the same person, pre and post trooning Chris seem like completely different people to me. I think I'll see him in a different light now but I still do enjoy occasionally going back and laughing at his "golden age" hijinks.

For me it changes nothing. My feelings on Chris have ranged from "Chris is a garbage human being" to"Chris is terrible, but I'd step in to save him if he was getting his ass kicked", but I've always disliked Chris on some level. This latest horrifying turn of events just falls in line with his overall pattern of being a bad person. Watching his old videos knowing the eventual outcome just sort of puts it all in context.

Plus it helps that Barb created him on every concept of the word on top of being an overall rephrehensible human being.

My impression has been that she either groomed him as a son-husband or she was extremely bad at setting boundaries, and while this recent incident is beyond the pale, it's also not out of the blue even if you were to disregard Chris' rotted sanity.

Virgin With Rage Chris didn't even do anything like this. But he was creepy enough. Perhaps we just didn't see the signs. Being creepy with girls, wearing Barb's clothes ect... All leading up to this. It was just a much slower burn than what we see in movies where some social misfit eventually commits an ultimate heinous act.

I figured eventually Barb would die and Chris would get worse. But more in line with his fantasy world and not hurting real people. But looking back at all the creepy stuff he did maybe we just couldn't see the signs.

Yes, but with Michael Jackson, the creative output is so much more distinctly separate from the crime. A more proportional comparison would be to imagine that MJ’s scandal was releasing an openly pro-paedophilia album. I’d find it hard not to see the old songs as a progression towards that end

Chris is still a lolcow. I don't have a parasocial relationship with him, I've only ever been here to laugh at him. I appreciated Null's efforts to rehabilitate him, I'd probably have done the same in his shoes, but from where I'm sitting he's still just someone to laugh at. The laughs are just a bit darker now.
